I spent more than one day here and loved it! It was clean and beautiful. Rough waves but still peaceful. Weekend was crowded but on the weekday it was very quiet. I went solo but with family or friends would be nice too

There are so many beaches in or close to San Juan, it's tough to make a choice. Ocean Park and Isla Verde are both great options.

Ocean Park is a basic beach. It gets the job done for spending time at the water, soaking up sun, playing with kids, friends and animals. The attendants are very helpful! Its super convenient and easy to get to. Its certainly worth going just for...More

This beach is really nice. It gets deep quick so be aware of that. This was a very nice place to relax for a while since there are no beach bars or beachfront restaurants.

This is our local beach right across our apartment. It is a nice beach with a lot of space and things to do. You can find people playing soccer, volleyball, and outdoor tennis. There are not that many restaurants or bars at the beach, so...More

Spent 4 days and 4 nights in an Ocean Park villa. The beach here was literally 50 steps away. It was never crowded even though we were her during the weekend. This is the place for those who are into kite surfing. Fascinating to watch...More

This is a great sandy beach with a nice waterfront. The water is warm, and easy swimming for everyone. Restaurants along the beach are casual and serve good food.

Ocean Park Beach is in the center of an old neighborhood and between Condado and Isla Verde. Not much around to enjoy for restaurants or attractions. The beach itself is great but I prefer Isle Verde Beach, walking distance to numerous hotels, retail shops and...More

Great beach with a big sand front, some heave waves depending on the months, used for swimming, and kite surfing. Frequented by locals from Friday to Sunday mostly between UNO’s Guest House and Hostería Del Mar.

Unlikely you will find a cab there, unless you’re very lucky. You can call and ask them to pick you up there and wait for one. Or order Uber. Or go to Isla Verde Beach and there are plenty of cans in front of the hotels... More

No. You would need an Uber or rental car for about a 10-12 minute drive from the Condado area to Old San Juan.

Need help planning our 5 day PR trip (11 Replies)
We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (6 & 8 years old boys), traveling to San Juan PR in late November. I need help planning the trip. We plan to rent a car. 1. We would like to stay centrally. Will kids be able to play in the beach water in November? If yes, we would want access to beach but would also want to drive to other places of interest. Where should we stay? Is Ocean park beach area a good place to stay? 2. Can someone help us plan our days? So far it seems I have the...More

Ocean Park might not be the best beach for young children. It was beautiful, clean and never crowded when I was there. However there was a bit of a current and waves that in my opinion would make it difficult for children to swim safely.

Dog friendly beach? (4 Replies)
Hi We are planning a trip for June. So far I've decided I'd like to stay in San Juan for a few nights. The place I'm considering is pet friendly and closest to Ocean Park beach. Do you know if this beach is dog friendly? If it helps she's a hamster sized dog, lol. She only weighs 4lbs. Thanks in advance!
