This is the old gate to the city and the entrance to both the Princess walk and the El Morro Walkway. The street above is definitely worth a look, the flowers and trees overhanging make for great photos

We made it to the gate late in the evening after walking along the path outside the city wall. There are plenty of attractions and art installations along the walk and waterfront, and the gate makes a great finale. The path looks like it travels...More

Practically the gate to the new world hundreds of years ago. It is impressive and amazing to look at, and imaging coming in from the see; the gate is at the beach level opens to a rather steep path leading into the town.

Walk thru - check out the cats - feel the breezes. This is not so much a tourist attraction as a reminder that San Juan was and still is a port city. What was once the major entrance from the water is now just a...More

Wonderful piece of history that has survived the test of time. Definitely worth seeing and don't forget to take advantage of the adjacent "paseo del morro" which is just as wonderful.

The walkway out over the beach is closed. Still a great spot to rest on a bench before climbing the hill back to shopping. I like the "wild" cats always happy for a treat. Sitting by the tree is a happy little spot in the...More

No tickets required! Only for the fortresses and they are cheap. The beaches are good and you can do as you like. Pretty safe IMHO.
