We went to El Batey with our friend Matt Madison back when Davey Jones (The owner) was still alive. Davey welcomed us with open arms and I still remember writing "Verona Skydive Center" on the white interior wall among all the other names. When we...More

Dive bar done right! They have these neat chandeliers made out of people's notes and business cards. A friend and I sat right at the bar and chatted with locals and tourists. Got some really good tips from the bartender about what to skip and...More

I can't say I agree with those who say this is the best bar in San Juan, but it's a good place to go and relax. They seem to work hard to keep the dive image going and they do a good job, but their...More

Having been here 9 years ago, this was the first spot I honed in on while back in San Juan for just one day. So happy to hear that it had finally reopened months after the hurricane. Great staff, ice cold Medalla, and they let...More

A great casual bar that you can be comfortable in. There are many bars to stop in during your Old San Juan walks but my favorite is El Batey.

We were there on a cruise ship day, but somehow this place remains the real deal. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed our bar man Chistobal. He quietly kept to himself until we made it clear we wanted to hear his stories. He...More

This is the place! If in San Juan you have to stop here. One of the oldest bars in old San Juan. Amazing jukebox. Coolest bartender. Cold beers! Good mix of locals and tourist. El Batey the best dive bar in the old city.

I stayed at El Colibri in Sosua. It was a very nice, simple place to stay at, with an awesome pool. It costs $35 a day. The adress is: El Colibri Resort, Calle Pedro Clisante 141, Sosua. The owner is Monique Harpman. She is from the Netherlands and speaks Dutch, English and Spanish. Email her at info@elcolibri.net. She is a very nice lady. Tell her Cheryl from the United States referred you.

Vacation Rental Properties in Sosua - Villa Ana Maria area (9 Replies)
A couple of us are looking into renting a condo unit for a trip in the fall. We found the info on the internet under the website www.sosua-vacation-rentals.com. The condo unit is located in the "Villa Ana Maria" area of El Batey, Sosua. The condo unit doesn't have a name itself - on the website, it is listed as "Vacation Rental Property #1". The company who owns the property is called "Sosua Vacation Rental Company" and the owner's name is Henry Vera. Anyone familiar with this man, the...More

What is the web site you found it on? If i am correct and i need to see it on the web site. The area is east of "downtown" sosua and a 10 min walk into the main area (shopping, restaurants, bars, food stores). It is also in an area that i would make sure had 24/7security. Let me know the web site. BObK

It really is not on Pedro Clisante but on the extension of the street around the bend and on the way to the Playa Chiquita Casino. It is on the extreme end of town from the beach and would be a 25 min walk to town. ti is a good 15 min past hotel Europa. There are no real businesses other than a couple of small colmados around it. I have no experience with the hotel BObK
