this was hands down, the absolute highlight of my trip to puerto rico! if do just one thing in puerto rico again, THIS would be it! every part of our tour was covid friendly. we maintained our distance and kept our masks on for the entire experience.
we were graced with two of the kindest, most knowledgeable tour guides, who offered local tidbits and historical narratives against the backdrop of the area’s suburban landscape en route to the rainforest. we got a taste of the local culture, vegetation, and wildlife we encountered throughout the hike.
our views from the top of the waterfall was absolutely breathtaking and worth every step we took to get there. to be completely honest, i enjoyed every step of the climb to the top. rappelling down the waterfall felt at once thrilling and exciting! if i could spend even longer on each segment of the hike, i would!
our hike concluded with a mind-numbingly delicious homecooked meal cooked by abuela, topped off with a refreshing coconut sorbet. this hike alone was the definitive moment of my time in puerto rico! i cannot wait to do this again.
