I had booked with Captain Ricardo on June 9th for a full day of deep sea fishing in Puerto Rico. We got into PR on June 7th our 1st day there and that same day we were involved in an auto accident. We spent the next 6 days of our vacation in the hospital in PR. I was not able to make the fishing trip and notified Captain Ricardo of the unfortunate accident. We were within the 48 hour cancellation window and he still refunded me the 100% of the trip. If I'm ever back in PR i will be booking with his company. His actions says a thousand words about himself relating to his customers.
I would highly recommend Blue Rush PR Charters to others that are visiting San Juan PR!

I took a night fly fishing trip with Capt Velilla. Right away I felt like I've known him for a long time. He quickly told me that there is a spot near a power plant that if there is a boat dock there we can't fish there due to Coast Guard regulations. Thank god no boat was there!!! The action was non stop!!!! You could se the tarpon lying under the lights waiting for something to swim by. Caught like 25 fish one after the other, you just put the fly on the water no need to strip bammmmmmm!!! Hooked a big tarpon like 70 pounds but unfortunately lost it after a 30 minute fight. Then we headed near a bridge where there are some spotlights and the water is bio luminous. Hook up another nice tarpon, like 50 pounds. He looked like a snake swimming under de bio luminous water. Broke the leader at boatside. Anyway had lots of fun!!! Can't wait to go back

I have spent a lot more money on charters not nearly as enjoyable as this one. the captain did a great job despite rough waters the day we went. He was very accommodating even when we showed up on the wrong pier, and made the trip a great day out. Despite our inexperience with salt water fishing, we caught a variety of fish in a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. the reef fishing trip we took was fun, reasonably priced, and enjoyable for all. I would highly recommend this trip.

The good: My friends and I had a pleasant afternoon cruising around the inshore harbor with our captain Luis. Super chill and nice guy. Communication with the company before the day was responsive and easy. They, like many fishing charters in PR, offer morning and afternoon slots. The rep I spoke with several times, Natalie, said the afternoon offered good fishing, as I was concerned that only morning was a good time. Also, $600 for seven guys four hours fishing isn’t bad. The boat was a bit cramped with seven plus captain but was still comfortable and fairly new.
The bad: I called an hour before we were scheduled to meet and asked if there would be ice for the cooler I already knew they had. The rep confirmed she’d have the captain grab some more. I’m glad I called because we would have been iceless otherwise. They had a morning charter earlier and seemed to not have reupped on any beverages and such for us.
When we reached the meeting point the boat pulled up with both men seeming confused. We were a group of seven but they said they could only take six. I said I was clear about our group size when I booked, and that their rep said it was fine. She said they could only charge for six so the seventh was free. Luis and Ricardo (the other captain who didn’t join us) deliberated away from us a bit but then we all boarded and got on our way. Awkward start to the day but not a big deal.
We then proceeded to spend over an hour bait fishing with no success. We were surprised that the bait fish were not already in the live well (I know this isn’t always the case but all seven of us were surprised by this and we’ve all done charter fishing). With a chunk of the afternoon gone and no bait fish, we trolled with lures the whole time. We did not have a single bite the entire day let alone catch anything. Luis definitely seemed committed to finding fish and even stayed out a little later with us to do so, but to no avail.
Fishing has such days so that’s less on the company obviously, but the unpreparedness with the bait fish, expectation from the rep that the season and time of day boded well, and confusion that began the trip all suggested that the company mailed in our experience. With a little better communication internally and more attentive preparation for our group, it could have been a much better day. I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next fishing experience in PR.

Captain Ricardo was awesome! He was incredibly knowledgeable and as avid fresh water fisherman, we were appreciative of that. He talked a bit about what kind of fishing techniques were most effective and then we got to it.7 fish were caught between my husband and I including 3 tarpons, 2 jacks, and 2 snooks. Captain Ricardo was friendly and informative and we truly had a wonderful time.

Blue Rush provided my family and I with a great day on the water. Not only was Captain Luis able to find the fish right away, he kept us on fish consistently. His knowledge of the water and the local area also gave us a fantastic lesson of the area landmarks and local attractions. Don’t hesitate to book an fishing adventure with Blue Rush PR.

First I have to say I am a big one to read reviews but never really to write them. We booked this fishing trip while on our cruise during the San juan stop. My teenage boys wanted to catch a Tarpon, well... they decided not to bite that day, however our capt. was determined to find them fish to catch and he did!!! What a great day for our boys. This company was easy to work with and communicates well, The only suggestion i would make if you are thinking of booking a trip is to make sure they know how many people would like to fish on your trip. There were 4 of us who at first wanted to fish however there were only two poles baited up which in the end was fine with us as our teenagers loved every minute pulling in the fish. Thanks Blue rush and unfortunately i forget our captains name..... sorry.

When my girlfriend and I stayed in san juan, we did a snorkeling excursion through blue rush. It was awesome! Snack and drinks were provided as well as an awesome experience. There was an old sunken ww2 ship that we spent most of our time around which was great. When we were done we were able to swim up to the land and look at some awesome views and old structures. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Let me start by saying I fish a lot. When you hook into 25 tarpon in one day you have a captain that is second to none. You cannot go wrong with Ricardo and Blue Rush. Treated us like kings and knew where to find every tarpon. Amazing!!!!

Very much respect for this business, they contacted me yesterday and felt bad due to the lack of fish caught on our fishing trip and reimbursed us. I understand as a fisherman you do not always catch fish and for blue rush to help our family out while on vacation was a great move. TWO THUMBS UP FOR The captain and crew and we will definitely return for another fishing trip on our next vacation!!!!

Thank You for choosing us as your fishing charter. Unfortunately the fish you caught wasn't the size or the amount you expected. Our captains are very experienced and know the right spots. But as every fishermen and fisherwomen knows, a catch or fish size is never guaranteed. We reimbursed you for reasons we only know, but is not what we advertise. Our main focus is to give a great service to our customers and to give them the opportunity to have a great catch. Thank You for your review and we hope to see you on your next trip to P.R. Happy Travels!
