This was the perfect hangout for experiencing Old San Juan. The ambiance was great. It is located on a second floor, there are balconies that light up the place. Music was good. The drinks and tapas were very good. The mojitos we tried were coconut & mint and passion fruit. The tapas “patatas bravas” and “sweet and tangy meatballs”. Waiting staff was friendly. We highly recommend it.

Wife and I were in OSJ only three nights and had happy hour, 4 to 8pm, food and drinks twice. There Tacos de Carnitas, on the happy hour discount, were one of the two best dishes we had on our stay. Careful, they are as messy as they are good. Service is excellent. Atmosphere can not be beat as we sat, both nights, on the small balcony overlooking the blue cobble stone streets and looking up at the “Super Moon” full moon. Certainly the old Speak Easy vibe. Moscow Mule provides a variety of tastes from cinnamon to ginger and fruit. I asked for the bartender to surprise me with a rum drink with no coconut and was served a rum Old fashion that was excellent. Both my wife and I can not recommend this place enough. Only reason we will not eat there again tomorrow night is that we will unfortunately be leaving. Thanks for wonderful service, great happy hour prices and a fun atmosphere.

We came here for drinks after a late lunch at a nearby spot. The drinks were delicious and the ambiance of the bar is so nice. You get views of the street with some of the patio seating. It isn't too loud or crowded either.

We ordered a Moscow mule drink and has the bartender make us a random drink with whiskey.

We also ordered the shrimp appetizer which was delicious. I would highly recommend and come here in the future.

Superb drinks and food (tapas style). This is an excellent place to go for lunch. My wife and I enjoyed every bite of the five dishes we ordered, plus truly outstanding cocktails. A great, moderately priced, casual place for lunch!

I when two weeks ago, the drinks where extremely good!
I think the bartender name was Omar super charming and I was surprise it's was he's first day, I hope to see him next time I visited Mezzanine.
But this waitress Kiria omg she don't smile at all, super rude I just think she have a bad day, her body language and her actitud was really unacceptable specially in this industry of HOSPITALITY, the owners or managers should choose carefully they staff, this type of employees it's a danger for the reputation of the company.

Hello BrownDavid, we know that's not your real name and that you are one of our local customers from San Juan, not New York, but we still appreciate your review. We rarely never disagree with our guest when they have bad experiences in our venus and always try to make it up for them but unfortunately we know exactly what happened here and it's not the story you're telling our Trip Advisor users. Kyria is actually one of our best bartenders (as you can read in other reviews) and she will never be rude to someone without any reason. We prefer not to go into any other further details of what really happened but we still appreciate your visit to our bar as we know you usually do.

The Mezzanine is a neat place to go and get your drink on. The space is charming and historically significant: the walls are covered with news clippings that tell the story of the place/it's inhabitants.

I cannot comment on the brunch, but I can comment on the drinks. They have well over 50 drinks. If you drink them all, you become a Maezztro. While I am not a fan of all the drinks (to each their own), I quite enjoy the Gimlet. The drinks service is great and it's a great spot to enjoy on your own or with friends. If you're in Old San Juan, drop by. You'll enjoy it.

WE LOVE YOUR HUSBAND QUEST TO BECOME A MAEZZTRO! We also love the Gimlet. See you soon again and luckily also your husband's name in the Maestro wall :)

Fantastic tapas, great Barrilito rum cocktails, and I highly recommend any of their “HH”-denoted happy hour deals.

I am so glad that our front desk at our hotel told us about this place.
We came here almost every single day. The drinks were spectacular (those passion fruit mojitos are amazing!) and the tapas were first class.

I absolutely loved their pidgeon pea escabeche. Their little pizzas, their meatballs, all of the food was just exceptional. We would sit right by the windows and just take in the views of Old San Juan and all its beautifully colored buildings and cobble stone streets. We could spend hours there. I want to say we almost felt a little guilty because maybe we weren't exploring all the other little places in town, but this was just a great find that even at the end of our vacation, nothing topped this place!

Definitely looking forward to coming here again. Sitting there looking out at San Juan as evening came with a great drink and delicious food was definitely the highlight of our trip.
