About
We are a golf course located in the former Ramey Base in Aguadilla Puerto Rico . It was the first public golf course on the island founded in 1940. Located on the northwest coast , this par 72 , offers a panoramic view of the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet . Designed in 1939 by Ferdinand Garvin starting with 9 holes for the enjoyment of the military air force. Punta Borinquen Golf Club overlooks one of the most beautiful sunsets and ocean views in Puerto Rico . Seasonal golfers have the opportunity to see whales in the beautiful and warm Atlantic Ocean. Come and visit us , where the challenge of the wind take you to finish the 18 holes. Our employees work in a friendly and casual environment where the idea is to provide the warmth that distinguishes our Puerto Rican hospitality .

This course which is a muni, is an excellent margin providing a nice round of golf for a quarter of whit you might pay elsewhere. It was not crowded and provided some stunning ocean views. It is very wide open with little rough so provides a " resort" experience. Greens are difficult to read but roll pretty well. Well worth th trip

Let me just preface this by saying I live in PR. now, according to my golf teacher this course was beautiful in the 70's. It used to be run by the US Military. Now unfortunately is is run by the locals. The views are still nice, it is cool when the jets come in to land, and we have spotted whales from there, but upkeep is lacking. We have golfed here many times over 9 yrs and it has not improved. There are no bathrooms out on the course. Sometimes there is no running water in the "club house", the service is slow and the food terrible, just greasy crap. The course is over run with red ants, so watch where you stand. There is no marshall. The worst part is that the course is right beside low income housing. The ppl that live there seem to think the whole course is their garbage dump, playground and horse pasture. There are always sad looking horses tied up at a couple holes with no water! The sand traps have some sand, but mostly just dirt and bare earth. So you have to learn different ways to hit off that crap. The fairways are mostly grassy with hard dirt underneath. Lots of bare spots. The rough is very long and it's hard to find your ball. Greens are so so, but can be in bad shape especially during the dry season. We have seen many stray dogs, cats and rats. Spiders in the bathrooms. There are akways questionable looking people loitering around. Lately we have had to stop playing to wait for idiots on their ATVs to pass by! We go here because there because we love the game and are willing to suffer quite a bit in order to get out there and play and because there is no other close choice for us. If you are used to pretty, well maintained courses, prepare yourself! We bring our own drinks and snacks in our own cooler, even though there is a sign saying that is not allowed I would not recommend the rental clubs, bring your own. There is no proshop on the property to speak of although I believe they have a few items for sale. Call ahead as they do have an occasional tournament, hard to believe I know. I wish more ppl were interested in golf here. Maybe then someone with an actual degree in course management and maintenance would buy the course and make it nice again. It has vast potential!

Certainly not kept at resort standards. A rough finish reminiscent of Irish links. Layout not dissimilar to Kiawah Ocean with most of windswept holes with a view of the ocean . Staff very friendly and at $37 with cart a great 4 hours

We played here 2x durin our recent trip to the NW coast fo Puerto Rico. If you are looking for something to do the course is moer than adequate. It is short but the wind plays a BIG role in the game. The views are very impressive. Greens are so so as I have found in most island golf. Club rentals are awful. AWFUL. So go and have fun or bring your own clubs. Service is even worst. There was one good bag boy but the male bartenders and cash register attendants need an attitude adjustment. All in all for under $40 it is a decent way to spend 4 hours.

30 minutes After paying for my round today, to include the $5 Covid charge for a single player cart which was available at the time, I was told that it was mandatory to share the cart with another player because it was Saturday... nowhere in the guidance put out does it state that cart sharing is mandatory.... YOU SUCK at administrating a golf course, and I know this is in retaliation for my previous comments which I am entitled to. Your customers, and especially your MEMBERS are FIRST... Keep this in mind going forward, GOOD LUCK

Maria took its toll here but it has 18 beautiful holes of golf. The staff couldn't be more friendly. Very excited to come back here next year and support this local golf community. The course is pretty open and the views our fantastic. I got to play it 4 times on my trip and each time I found something new and cool about it. It's definitely a course that needs help financially and you will see that, but I'm out there to have fun and that's what I did. Yes I'll come back!

I love playing at Punta Borinquen when I come home and visit my parents in Aguadilla. The maintenance staff has done an amazing job with the course! When I played in December the fairways were lush and greens were perfect. I love the views from the 9th green - priceless! Prices reasonable and a friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

A great way to spend an afternoon playing golf. The course itself was in need of some work. Fairways look like an early spring late fall course in right before winter hits. Everything but the greens were hard and you could almost count on at least 10 extra yards per shot with the roll outs. I don't think there was a single green that wasn't on some sort of slope. The greens appear to be fast but in fact they were very slow. The wind was roughly 15-20 MPH, so if you have never played in that kind of wind, this is a course to get your wind game perfected. I felt with the shape of the course it was a bit over priced but I was playing golf in Puerto Rico... No complaints there...
Over all a great day out on the course. Any day on the course and not at work is a great day!!! Staff was super friendly, price wasn't terribly bad, $53.00 for a round of golf, club rental and a golf cart... There is four or five holes that have ocean views, that alone is worth the price. If you are on the west coast of the island then I would highly recommend this course... otherwise you will be driving two plus hours to play a round.

After last sunday round, 4 of my irons clubs had a dent caused by the rocky ground of the fairways. It was a shame because I have a mizuno JPX825 which were in inmaculate conditions.

If you love your clubs as I loved dont play in this golf course. Course has amazing views but the fairways are dangerous for the iron clubs.
