Wow, what a cool spot!! The design of Zimbali is so unique and beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious too!! Side note: We didn't realize how large the group would be and figured we'd all be able to have a seat along the cooking area (where you can actually see them cook and prepare the plates). We unfortunately, got a seat farther back and couldn't see the action (there also wasn't much narration). So, if you're someone that would like to see them work their magic, I recommend you put something on a seat to reserve it before the plantation tour!

We booked to stay here overnight before our trip. Mark was fantastic at communicating and was quick to reply. We had a taxi come to pick us up and drop us off. We were looking forward to dinner here. It was slightly overshadowed by a large party who were very loud.My partner really enjoyed his dinner, I was liked it less but thats just down to taste! We stayed in a lovely room which was nicely presented and had breakfast made for us in the morning. Overall we had a nice time, we went for a walk and the place itself was fabulous. Mark and Aleica have a lovely family and I wanted to take their little puppy home with me! My only criticism would be that it might be nice to have them both greet us and to be there to say goodbye. I think if you stay the night, maybe a more personal feel would be nice. We would loved to have chatted to them more.

It was a pleasure dealing with the owner of the resort. Very quick to respond to all needs and questions I had. They are very understanding of all guests' needs.

We spent a full week in this paradise and not a day has gone by since leaving that we haven't thought about our next trip back. Everything was perfect about our trip. The atmosphere was peaceful, the food was AMAZING, I have never in my life ate such flavorful food and every single plate was served to us like we were royalty ♡ Our hosts were always friendly and everyone we met there had smiles on their faces. Don't miss out on the hike up to see Fire the Rastafarian! The views up there were beautiful and the experience of the culture and food was something I will never forget, don't forget to bring a water bottle to get the fresh spring water on your hike up! I have nothing but good to say about our week with them. We have been on quite a few vacations but our stay at Zimbali retreats tops them all ♡ Mark & Alicia thank you for opening up your beautiful home/paradise to us all ♡ Tell Sol we said hello ♡ (Hope I spelt her name right!) We can't wait to come play cards with y'all again! Kris & LoAnna

We are just back from an exhilarating family adventure up the mountain with Fiyah and are so glad to have had this once in a lifetime experience to learn about his unique perspective on Jamaican culture and nature. The 45 minute transfer from our hotel in Negril was just the start of our adventure. The countryside is beautiful and provides some real world balance to the hotel experience on the beach in Negril. We then got a welcome drink of Soursop juice and a chance to explore the charming reception and dining rooms of the Zimbali Retreat before meeting Fiyah for our hike up to what our 11 year old daughter called the "treehouse." The hike was the perfect length for those of us young and older (and not all that athletic) although the footing was a bit challenging and we were panting by the top (27 floors and 8,350 steps up and back according to Siri). We were glad to have sneakers that we didn't care about ruining - a good thing as we encountered a tropical rainforest downpour on our way up and got soaked! At the top we met Fiyah's three sweet dogs & kitty and enjoyed hammocks and chit chat about life, rastafarianism, and the self-sufficient lifestyle while he cooked us an amazing vegetarian lunch from his garden. Our trek down was a bit more challenging with the wet mud which required a longer route. Overall we were so glad to have this opportunity to explore another facet of Jamaica. Thank you Fiyah for sharing your home and talents with our family. Do this trip if you love getting out in nature, learning about local plants and culture and don't mind getting a little dirty for a great adventure!
