This is a great experience. If you go you have to jump. They have very small jumps. I recommend the 25ft and 35ft jumps.

If you wanna see the people jumping from the cliff this is the place, also a relax enviroment. Nice music. Poor customer service attention, food expensive, nice drinks. Love the sunset.

What a place to go. Myself and my wife went to Ricks Café in a taxi from our hotel after reading reviews online. All I can say is the reviews and pictures do not do it justice. We arrived shortly after 13:00 and were greeted...More

Any trip to Negril has to include drinks at Rick’s to watch the divers at 4:00 and the the sunset. There was a torrential downpour when we arrived so everyone was crowded under cover. Hard to watch the divers and no sunset. People watching was...More

We enjoyed watching people jump off the cliffs and then got a table upstairs at the end overlooking the sunset. It was beautiful. Great memories there. Highly suggest getting there at least hour before sunset for drinks and dinner.

Bring your wallet. Three sandwiches and a handful of beers 80$. Worth every pennies. I had probably the best Jerk Chicken sandwich of our trip. Really pretty!

Is there construction going on at Rick's cafe right now. Hopefully it will be open in January.

There isn't any construction going on at Rick's other than maintenance. They were painting the outside wall when I was there a couple of days ago. Spiderman jumps from the dead tree just like clockwork everyday:)

Traveling to Jamaica with my husband in October. I have vacationed there a few times, he has never. I would love to go to Ricks Cafe and The pelican bar. I know it's a few hour drive. Any suggestions on the best way to go? Tour, excursion, private driver, ect.?

I would hire a private driver for that excursion and probably do YS Falls or Black River Safari Tour with Pelican Bar. Then head to Negril for sunset at Ricks Cafe

Excursions that are worth it from Montego Bay? (18 Replies)
What excursions are worth it from Montego Bay? Staying at Secrets St James for 5 days. Is it worth the drive to Dunns River or YS Falls? What about Negril/Ricks Cafe? I understand the drive time to each location is about 1 1/2 hr each way. Are their buses or vans that can drive to there? How safe is it? Thank you!

"I understand the drive time to each location is about 1 1/2 hr each way." This is correct. "Are their buses or vans that can drive to there?" Almost all of the numerous tour companies on the island will have a bus or van that will do either tour.
