About
This famous Jamaican beach in Negril—once plagued by pirates—is now a popular spot for sun-seekers and beach lovers. The seven-mile stretch of stunning white sand beach has plenty of bars and restaurants, plus clear waters that are great for snorkeling—just remember to watch out for stingrays! You can also take a glass-bottom boat tour over the turquoise waters. Stick around for the breathtaking sunset over the Caribbean.
Consider staying at a seaside resort to experience all that the area has to offer, including its vibrant nightlife. If you're short on time, the beach is also a great stop on a day tour from Montego Bay.

If you want to see the locals, you can walk the 7 mile (more like 4.5ish) beach and stop in almost any place for food, drink, music, etc. Be advised there are a few All-Inclusives on the North end that you can't get into. I'd suggest coming in around Margaritaville and walking west as far as you wish. Try a Patty from Patrick or stop anywhere and look at the menus. Definitely a place to walk, eat and drink.

Absolutely beautiful stretch of beach. Water was crystal clear with breathtaking views! An occasional Sting Ray caught our attention, but other than that, no other fish, so swimming and water activities were a blast!

Hola como estas?
Vi tu comentario y te queria hacer unas consultas.
Muchas gracias
Saludos,

i know its been a while ago but do you remember where you actually hung out on 7 mile beach? where you got the cheap lobster? and lastly was this just a day trip from a cruise? if so is it easy to get a taxi at the port that would pick you up at the end of your day? any information is appreciated. my cruise leaves Oct 2, 22

We gained access to the beach by purchasing a day pass at the Negril Tree House Resort. Our driver, Miguel, taught us this hack. The resort will allow you to pay $10 for a day pass and that includes a chair and umbrella. Miguel can be found on Trip Advisors and instagram by searching Montiq_tours.ja. He customized a tour for us from Montego Bay to Negril. Our day trip was wonderful. We made several stops and did not have to worry about driving. It was one of our best days during our stay.

I don’t think I‘ve been to bloody bay but I can say that I will never go back to 7 Mile Beach. The water was muddy. There were holes & bumps under the water that you didn’t know were there until you tripped or fell in a hole! The bottom felt terrible on my feet - mud & seaweed. We combined this with watching the sunset from Rick’s Cafe. The sunset was nothing worth seeing. I’ve seen way more beautiful sunsets right here at home in Canada! So we spent at least 2 hours each way to & from Negril, a couple of hours on a lousy beach, then the bus trip to Rick’s for about an hour. All in all, we spent more time on the bus than anywhere else. We were out for a full 12 hours. It was a total waste of time & money. We could have had a great day at the resort instead & saved a couple hundred dollars. I wouldn’t recommend it.

You can take a route taxi at the main road called norman manley boulevard. The route taxi has a red license plate. It is easy, don' t worry. There are a lot of taxis, you will see. They even beep at you. Have a nice holiday, seven mile beach is paradise.
where can we stay at good price?

Which all inclusive resorts are located on or close to seven mile beach?
LDJ Traveller

The main All Inclusive hotels along the seven mile beach all have direct access to the beach. At one end you have Hotel Riu which is next to Hedonism. Coming along towards downtown Negril you have Sandals Negril. A little further down you will find Beaches Negril ( Sandalls owned ) best for family’s. Next door to Beaches is Couples Negril.
Past Couples and you enter to little independent hotels amongst hostels etc. As said below it does depend on your travelling needs. Is it adults only? Will you be taking the kids? If it was adults only then Sandals is your upmarket overpriced one. However I have friends who swear by Couples resort and they are significantly cheaper than sandals. If your taking the kids I would personally recommend Beaches Negril. Again for a cheaper alternative the Riu will work. All the hotels made the beach wider so you should have a private part to enjoy. At Beaches they have security monitoring the locals selling. If your not interested and they persist the security would move them on. In any case once your on the beach you will truly enjoy!!
