Hands down the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. It was 84 degrees and sunny the entire week, the water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature. Glass bottom boat tours, snorkeling, parasailing excursions are great experiences that are easily accessible and inexpensive. At night tho the salesmen get pushy. Everyone says it’s their birthday, that they’re just trying to afford a meal, that spending another $ won’t kill you. During the day it’s a minor hassle, at night it can be relentless.

Took a trip to this beach before heading to Ricks Cafe. Beautiful white sand, paid the admission fee for 4 chairs w umbrella, enjoyed the ocean for a good while as the ocean at Riu Mobay was mud instead of sand, be extra careful of the vendors walking up and down the beach, just listen and said no thank you. Did not make it to walk the entire 7 mile, vendors keep pulling you to view their merchandise, hair braiding, massages, etc

This is the finest beach on this side of the planet. I have been to many others around the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico and Africa. It is a beautiful 7 mile long white sand beach which faces westward. The sand is white and is very stable. You can wade out for hundreds of feet and it is still smooth. I have been there yearly for 40 plus years and it has withstood hurricanes, etc. You can walk freely up and down the beach and visit many hotels and beach resorts freely. There are many non-all inclusive resorts that welcome such visits. Beautiful sunsets are nearly nightly as one watches the sunset one the horizon.

We traveled here briefly as a couple when we stayed in Negril and did a day trip to the beach. The beach is small, taken up by resort upon resort with countless chairs laid out, so you may have difficulty finding an area to lay out. However, the water is beautiful and warm, a breathtaking turquoise color and very calm to swim in most of the time unless the weather is rough. Do you best to make it to the beach if you’re in the area but be careful of all the locals trying to sell you things, it can get a bit annoying!

You can gain access to this beach by going to the Tree House Resort for a small fee. The amount gives you Beach access, chairs and an umbrella. There’s a restaurant right on the water. We caught a glass bottom boat and snorkeled. There were so many options for fun activities along the stretch or not. The beach is lively and calm all at once.

Although I'm not a big beach during the day type of person, because I really don't like being out in the Sun, I really did enjoy my time at this beach. The water is very clear and pretty. Other than visiting the vendor's, there really isn't much to do but relax which wasn't such a bad thing. If you go be prepared to pay about $5 for a beach chair/lounger, and make sure that you bring your own towels and blankets To dry off if you get in the water and to cover your chair. We stopped by this beach on the way to Rick's Cafe while visiting Negril and it was worth the time spent. Do add it to your list of things to do when visiting Jamaica.

My wife and I were staying at Royalton Negril and took a taxi to Seven Mile Beach. We got off at Bourbon Beach and walked in both directions to get an idea of what this famous beach was like. It is scenic, ocean was beautiful. What we did not like is the constant asks to purchase anything and everything. After a couple hours we headed back to our resort to peace and quiet, no vendors. I think staying on Seven Mile Beach would be difficult due to people constantly walking in front of you.

Love love this beach. For walkers you can easily do a long walk - early morning and sunset is divine. Plenty of places to stop for a coffee/drink or a snack . Bathrooms and cash machines are around - you just need to ask a local who often hand out on the beach.
Don’t be alarmed if you are offered a recreational smoke or weed, that’s the norm in Jamaica!
The sea is clear and you can find lots of water sports from parasailing to paddle boarding.

If you lay a horseshoe flat on its side with the open part facing out, you have a good model of The Seven Mile Beach in Negrill, Jamaica. The inner most part of the horseshoe circle is the small town of Negrill. If you walk the whole Beach you would start out at Hedonism II and end at Ricks Cafe on the cliffs that look at the open ing to the Ocean.
Although my favorite places on the Beach are SANDALS and BEACHES, there are a number of other nice properties including some small special properties on the Cliffside. Years ago, X-San Francisco "hippies" fell in love with some places in and around Negrill..and they made Tie-dye clothes and sold Red Stripe!
Lovely area ...worth a visit

Negril 7 mile beach has something for everyone. The beach is among the best in the world. If you dont want to be hassled by beach vendors, just sit back from the water, and security will supervise. If you want something they offer, waive them up. Strolling musicians, wood carvers, fruit, lobster man, patty man. It all comes to you. In 2 weeks, you still cant do it all...

I don’t think I‘ve been to bloody bay but I can say that I will never go back to 7 Mile Beach. The water was muddy. There were holes & bumps under the water that you didn’t know were there until you tripped or fell in a hole! The bottom felt terrible on my feet - mud & seaweed. We combined this with watching the sunset from Rick’s Cafe. The sunset was nothing worth seeing. I’ve seen way more beautiful sunsets right here at home in Canada! So we spent at least 2 hours each way to & from Negril, a couple of hours on a lousy beach, then the bus trip to Rick’s for about an hour. All in all, we spent more time on the bus than anywhere else. We were out for a full 12 hours. It was a total waste of time & money. We could have had a great day at the resort instead & saved a couple hundred dollars. I wouldn’t recommend it.

You can take a route taxi at the main road called norman manley boulevard. The route taxi has a red license plate. It is easy, don' t worry. There are a lot of taxis, you will see. They even beep at you. Have a nice holiday, seven mile beach is paradise.
where can we stay at good price?

Which all inclusive resorts are located on or close to seven mile beach?
LDJ Traveller
London, UK20 contributions
The main All Inclusive hotels along the seven mile beach all have direct access to the beach. At one end you have Hotel Riu which is next to Hedonism. Coming along towards downtown Negril you have Sandals Negril. A little further down you will find Beaches Negril ( Sandalls owned ) best for family’s. Next door to Beaches is Couples Negril.
Past Couples and you enter to little independent hotels amongst hostels etc. As said below it does depend on your travelling needs. Is it adults only? Will you be taking the kids? If it was adults only then Sandals is your upmarket overpriced one. However I have friends who swear by Couples resort and they are significantly cheaper than sandals. If your taking the kids I would personally recommend Beaches Negril. Again for a cheaper alternative the Riu will work. All the hotels made the beach wider so you should have a private part to enjoy. At Beaches they have security monitoring the locals selling. If your not interested and they persist the security would move them on. In any case once your on the beach you will truly enjoy!!

Für alleine Reisende Bücherwürme ist der Strand hervorragend. Für lebenslustige Singles eher nicht, da die Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten eher begrenzt sind.

Is there a walkway for buggies? I’m hoping to be able to go for a long walk with baby in the mornings.

Yes, there is sidewalk along Manley Blvd, on one side of the road. Download and start using Goodle Earth, Streetview and have a look for yourself.

Hello, Just wondering where you stayed while there? A resort, an all inclusive ? Went in 2016 but stayed on the Bloody Bay side.
Beautiful but thought I would like the longer side

We went March 1-6 2019, and the prices were very reasonable at Coco La Palm.
