Wow! What an experience. Imagine.... swimming with Stingrays. Our guide was very informative. The stingrays come right up to you and seems like they want to play.

WAY too many boats and visitors were allowed at this place. The sea swells were huge the day we were there. It's about a 25 minute boat ride, friendly captain and guide. When the boat reached the sandbar where the stingrays are, everyone was pretty much left to fend for themselves. One guide in the water with about 50 people. There were about 15-20 additional boats besides ours, and literally hundreds of people in the water trying to see the rays. Huge waves were crashing constantly, just beating the crap out of us. There were families with very small children and it wasn't safe. When we tried to get back on the boat, several people were hit by the boat or the ladders, as the boat was swaying so violently. No help for people getting back on the boat with children or older people. People in the group had to pitch in and help each other get back on the boat. Several people had severe seasickness from being battered by the waves and swallowing so much sea water. Although there was supposed to be a second stop on the excursion, the boat just returned to shore and let everyone off with no explanation. (I think everyone was glad for it to be over) We were refunded part of our money a few days later. But it really wasn't safe. Too many people in the water, too many large boats in the area. A few of the boats were unloading people on jet skis, and they were just adding to the chaotic atmosphere. Next time I think I would just look for a smaller, private tour in a less populated area.

Was a nice experience but I didn't like the guides we had they had crude comments and I think they thought they were funny and were not. Would try a different company next time.

The guides on the boat catch big one's pretty fast. I was the only one in our party who caught about a 7 footer wingspan stingray - these are not the same species that killed the Croc hunter. These just have one barb on their tail and you would have to step on it to get hurt (which would be hard to do as the water is crystal clear). The guides make sure you get to touch and hold them they are huge... They take pictures and will email you roughly 8-10 pics for $40 via their ipad. We bought the pictures and they were worth it. Water is only around 3.5 feet deep. It also included a short snorkeling of 1 hour on the 7 mile barrier - it was just okay. The stingrays were great - I would like to do the stingrays again.
