Absolutely safe, enlightening, fun AND environmentally conscious! I absolutely love our guides - Sofia (Yo momma for the day!), Ryan(Our driver was knowledgeable and funny!), Mr. Griggs at the Falls(focused on safety, mindful of varying abilities and FUN! and our videographer(on-point and efficient) and our Captains and DJs on the catermaran (energetic, attentive to the audience needs).
My regret is that we did not have the ability to tip electronically and that our tour guide Sofia took lunch away from us. We felt like family at this point and she was removed from us. It felt like she was not good enough to dine with us. Omg! The Margaritaville lunch was simply great! The coleslaw and jerk meal was SO good! In summary, Jamaica was heaven on earth for me.

This beach costs $200 JMD to enter which is well worth it. There are no vendors trying to sell you stuff and you feel that your belongings are safe while you are in the water.

The concrete jetty in the picture is long since gone and fallen into the sea.

This is a wonderful hidden gem. The surrounding street area is a bit congested however once you park the beach is beautiful. Very quiet and serene. No vendors to bother you. For $44 US we got admission for 6, 3 umbrellas, and 6 chairs. There is also local shops to get snacks. You can also bring your own snacks and beverages as well. The water and beach are very clean. There is a large dock in the distance for cruise ships; however we missed ships. About two blocks away is also many restaurants including Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville.

Sometimes you just want to chill and be on a beach. This was one of those times, having been to Ocho Rios 10+ times off of a cruise ship.
The beach is literally a two minute walk from the new pier.
There is a cost to get in ($3).
There are chairs and umbrellas available for rent. And there is cold beer available for purchase.
If you can deal with the constant haggling of someone trying to sell you something else, then heading here for a few hours is a good alternative to heading to the falls or just sitting on the ship.

Visited Ocho Rios beach on 1st Feb with family who I came to see and visit for a week.
This was our beach day as my relatives live near enough in the middle of Jamaica.
The beach was busy but beautiful and clean. No trouble. Everyone relaxing. There are other activities to do like ride on a inflatable with a high speed boat pulling you.
Really relaxed atmosphere at s
Cost of $200 JMD £1.60.
There are toilet and shower facilities on the beach as well as booths the get drinks food and ice cream

Very nice beach.

I thought I’d done my homework before leaving but here is what we really found. If you keep walking 15 minutes to left of cruise dock, you will come to entrance of the beach. Gated. $3 pp entrance fee $5 for a chair $5 for umbrella.
There is a small beach associated with margaritaville and oceans 11. NEXT to that is a very very small free public beach. No chairs available. We laid out towels. Water is warm and cold ( as fed here by mountain run-off stream).
Much local color here. We were warned by many to not venture from the ship dock area. One man from the ship told my husband he did and was “scared to death.”

It is a somewhat of a public beach with security, not the most romantic one. I have been to worst. However you can still enjoy the sand, sunshine, and cool water. I suggest you bring your own chairs, sunscreen, beach shoes and whatever else you think you need. There is an active Carnival Cruise Line pier and hotel directly in view. Plus the boat enter and exit from around the corner into the bay. We walked along the edge of the water down to and back from the hotel on the mouth of the bay. The beach closes at 6pm during our visit.

A huge beach which can be hit and miss, Lively or dead. On a good day good fun on a bad day boring as hell. There is a bar on the beach, and you can rent sunbeds. Also water sports.

Beach is well looked after with golden sand. Plenty of life guards available. Security too. A paying fee to enter the beach. A bar also on the beach serving drinks, not sure of its opening times. Offers of water sports available. Nice atmosphere, although weekdays fairly quiet.

A very nice beach, withing walking distance from the Cruise Ship Peer. It only cost $1 to gain access. No vendors here. They stamp your hand so that you can leave & re-enter. Rent a chair for $10.
Nice water & beach. Nice area.... and close to Margaritaville - a must go to place.
