Everything was awesome, especially our tour guides, knowledgeable, funny and entertaining.
My man CJ aka crazy Jamaican was hilarious that's what he called himself. If you get them as guides you would love it he loves to sing, and tell jokes.

We showed up on a Sunday and almost had the river to ourselves. We paid the rafters cash at the end $60USD each.
You must have water shoes and this attraction takes around 1 hour depending on how long you spend at the jump spot.
So peaceful and beautiful and where the river meets the ocean absolutely picturesque.

Had a wonderful time with the group of mostly seniors. Highly recommended if you want to experience the interior of Jamaica and the opportunity to meet some of the lovely people of the island. Easy float down the river with a few class one or two rapids. Teens would enjoy it but would not be recommended four young kids,

I thoroughly enjoyed my first rafting experience. My tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The river water was calm and cool. The entire tour took 1 hr and there were many opportunities to take photos. I paid for the tour at the front desk of Kaz Kreol Beach Resort. Rafting was a great adventure.

We took the White River raft ride while staying at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios and had a great experience with our driver/guide, Tristan. This is a gentle ride down the river on a bamboo raft with a stopping point at a craft stand just past the halfway point. We picked up several hand made items there for friends back home.
We learned that Tristan's recently departed grandmother was one of Jamaica Inn's room keepers 26 years ago on our honeymoon. We actually recognized her picture when we went back to the hotel.
Well worth the ride.

In Jamaica for the holidays, and were hoping this would make for a relaxing morning. It did not disappoint! Yes there are a few small rapids but easily handled by all of us including our three kids (9 to 18). Our guides Kevin and Devin had us laughing the whole trip down the river. They were helpful and attentive and kept an especially close eye on the smaller ones. Would do this again in a heartbeat.

It was part two of our excursion, the river was very clear and very refreshing. The guides were there to help anyone who needed. There were two bars in the middle of the river, they sold Red Stripe Beer and Rum Punch. It was worth the 90 minute ride from Falmouth.

This is more of a workout, with a few little rapid areas. Everyone travels as a group down the river. The guides did a great job keeping us safe. But I think we were looking more for a lazy river and enjoying some beverages (drinking not recommended during tubing)

We stumbled across this place by accident and I’m so glad we did! Our guide was GREAT! He was super friendly and took lots of great pictures of us. I did buy a few souvenirs from a vendor who was also very nice. It was a romantic ride down the river. We really enjoyed it!

My wife and I went on the Chukka Caribbean Adventures river tubing safari last week on the White River and had a great time! The bus picked us up at our Ocho Rios resort and we went on windy and a bit bumpy 40 minute ride to the beautiful White River Valley. Along the way you drive through the town of Ocho Rios, which was quite busy even though no cruise ships were in town. We passed tropical vegetation, including massive ferns, palm and coconut trees, etc, vendors selling crafts by the side of the road, delightful school kids, and goats, horses and donkeys along the way.
The grounds of White River were very pleasant, and upon arrival you are given a lifejacket and it is a short 2 minute walk to the launch site. Local vendors will try to sell you an aqua camera for $15-20, but are very pleasant and non-aggressive. The tubing takes you three miles down the river with some amazing scenery. Some rapids were quite fast, and other spots were very calm. We had three guides with us who were very informative and humorous, breaking into song frequently, splashing unsuspecting tubers, etc. The guides even tipped my wife over before I got the chance! We saw several kingfishers and humming birds on the trip, and stopped halfway in a beautiful area for a restroom break. There was a bar set up there with complimentary samples of jerk chicken, and we could pick Jamaican apples from the nearby trees with tall sticks.
There are photographers in various spots along the river who take pictures along the way. We weren't planning on buying pictures but they were surprisingly good and we ended up buying a cd of 5 pictures for $35. I realize this was a bit pricey but it made for a nice souvenir. At the end point they have a nice trading post, bar and restaurant to relax in.
I would highly recommend this trip as it was tons of fun and a very relaxin way to see a different side of Jamaica.

It is in Ocho rios. You will have to travel from Montego in order to see anything worthwhile. There are some attractions as close as Falmouth, but Ocho is the better place to go.

Does anyone know if you rent a car and head over to the white river, if there’s any way to rent the bamboo raft on your own or do you need to go through a tour company?
JPIECOTE1

You can always go by yourself in a car, no need for a tour organizer. But.... you have to purchase your tour at the white river and the tour is guided by someone paid to protect and direct you in the river. When you reach the end, you are transported back to the top (your starting point) where your car is parked.

Yes, someone can chill out at the starting and ending point which would be a store and restaurant. The river is very much a slow lazy river It would be suitable for children.
What is the cost for tubing?

My wife and I stayed at Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay and booked the trip at the resort. It was $65 per person from there.
Can people who don't know how to swim do this?

Hi, I've been in text communication with Keith's Bamboo Crew in Ocho Rios (they didn't return a voicemail) about taking a trip on the River when we're there on a cruise ship in mid April. They did answer a text and said to just give them a call or text when we arrived. When I asked another question about cost and how to get to his tour they answered with "Ya man one love." Does anybody have experience with this company, how much the tour costs and whether or not they will actually respond if we call the morning we get there? I appreciate the laid back attitude, but just don't want to be left high and dry when we're there because our time is limited. Thanks.

His number is his personal cell phone and he's usually doing tours so reception may not be great.
Try calling again during business hours close to 4:00 (tours are usually done by then)
His tour is a great, more off the beaten path experience - we paid $80 per person as well and that included a fantastic lunch and red stripe. We were staying at couples resorts so did not need to be picked up so I'm guessing it's more if you need a ride.
I would not wait until you arrive to call - I think he meant - text him your arrival date.
Remember jamaicans do not read standard English as easily as we do so texting may not be best.
I've done his tour twice and we're always sad when it ends...
terriblement dangereuse ... la rue pour y aller est un coup gorge ... attention !!!
