We went on the Yaaman Rough Rider tour. We rode around the park on ATVs, over hills and ruts, puddles and curves and it was tremendous ! (I'm 72 years old and I will NEVER do that again, but I am so glad I did!) Everyone wears a helmet and I recommend wearing a mask, not for COVID, but for dirt, dust and water. They give good instructions. There was a guide at the rear to help, like when I stalled the ATV and bumped into the person in front. After the ride, we got into a tram pulled by a tractor and our driver, Horace, told us about the park, told jokes and gave us some excellent philosophical advice. He was great and the tractor goes up and down hills where you think it should not go. We went to the Secret River, a beautiful pool behind a water fall where Shane the lifeguard directed anyone who wanted to swim. Life jackets are available and you can walk into the water or jump. It was just beautiful. After a tractor ride back, we were given lunch- jerk chicken and rice and beans. Drinks are available to buy,
We booked this tour at the Bahia Principe through Chukka Tours, who provide the bus and I must give a compliment to our driver, Mr. Lou, who was very patient with people being finished late and spent time talking to my husband and me about Jamaica while we waited for other people. These things add so much to the experience.

There was very little knowledge shared on the cooking tour. The jerk seasoning was from a packet and the limit of the activity was rubbing the seasoning into your chicken breast and tipping a bowl of tomatoes into a pot. each person tipped in a different ingredient.

There was no fruit punch or wine served with the lunch as advertised. Just water.

If you want to learn about Jamaican cooking techniques and recipes I would not recommend this tour. Very disappointing.

That said. The estate is lovely and the views were beautiful.

What we did was ok, but not what we thought we were getting.

First, we had to wait for 20 minutes after the jitney dropped us off at the secret River for a life guard to finally arrive so we could go in the water. River itself was nice. They wanted to charge you an extra $10 for 3 rides on the zipline.

We wanted to do atv but told we had to do 2 person buggy. Alot of the ride was on road, a small portion was off road and only 1 mud area (that you went over twice) they do allow you to change drivers at the halfway point. It was fun but nothing to crazy.

When we got back, there were no plates for lunch. Didn't look like much was there anyway. So we didn't get to eat.

The aviary is just a few birds sitting on perches, don't get to feed them and have them sit on your hand.

The "jitney" ride that everyone said was the best..... was not even an option. All we got was a ride in a tractor drawn trailer down to the water. There was no plantation tour, or guide telling us about anything. I was very disappointed since other re iews ravabout it. it.

Staff was ok, but nothing special.

Overall it was fun, but not sure it was worth the price we paid.

We reserved and paid for the dune buggy excursion through Sandals Ochi Resort as
Offered by Yaaman Adventure Park. Our adventure was planned for Sunday, August 8th, and the trip had been planned weeks ahead of time. We arrived at the meeting place at our resort and, after a short wait, were picked up by a van and transported the approximately 5 minutes off property to Yaaman Adventures. After we checked in and presented our drivers licenses, we were told to proceed to the deck and wait to be called.

For the next two hours, we waited. Twice, an employee came and asked our names and what tour we had booked. A couple beside us was also waiting for the dune buggies and was given no more information than we received.

When two members of our party went to inquire, we were finally taken to the dune buggies. The only explanation given was that they “only had a certain number of vehicles.” This excuse is understandable to a point, but we had made a reservation. We had been forced to change our original reservation to another day because of flight cancellations, and we were charged more for the new reservation because of a price increase.

After another wait at a different location, we were fitted for helmets and then began our excursion.

The actual excursion lasted fewer than 15 minutes.

Let me reiterate that we had paid more than $100 (US) per person, waited over two hours past our reservation time, and then rode for approximately 12 minutes.

We paid about $10 per minute per person (There were two people in each dune buggy.) to ride a dune buggy.

Lunch was included in the price of the excursion. Lunch consisted of a small piece of meat and two small fritters. There was no drink, no utensil, and no napkin. (Drinks could be purchased.) We did not partake in the lunch because we just wanted to get back to our resort, but we heard other comments regarding the food.

Riding and driving the dune buggies was fun, but I can’t recommend this excursion in any way. In fact, I would say avoid it at all costs.

My friend and I showed up for a dune buggy tour 30 minutes prior to our reserved time. We had made the reservations at least two weeks prior. There was total disorganization and chaos where nobody seemed to know what was going on and where we should go. We kept seeking people out for info and were continuously told to wait at the tables and someone would get us when the dune buggies from the prior trip returned. We asked again after waiting an hour and we’re told 15 more minutes. After 30 more minutes we were informed that there were no more buggies left even though we had reserved well in advance. We were only offered a river ride as a substitute, which we declined because we had no interest. We explained we were spending a total of 3 hours in transit as we came from Montego Bay and had already been there for 2 hours, so had wasted 5 hours for nothing. You think a reputable business would have offered the refund AND the substitute tour on the house since they made the mistake and couldn’t accommodate us. But they wanted us to pay for the alternate tour. We even had to argue to get the $10 back for the locker it turns out we didn’t need. So we spent 5 hours and $60 dollars for driver tip and lunch for an excursion we never took. Lunch was supposed to be part of the excursion and they didn’t even have the decency to offer us the buffet available before our return trip , so our driver stopped on the way back so we could eat. The managers apology was half assed and no explanation for the mistake was given. We did find out from talking to other employees and our driver that it was over booked because of the cruise in port. We definitely arrived prior to the ship, but they were given priority. I guess because we were a smaller group through Island Routes we were considered less important.

Yaaman Adventure Park you owe my friends and I nothing. You were good to us. The CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL. From the minute we got there Chandel at the front desk ensured we were well informed, answered our questions, and was extremely patient and polite. Then we had our tour organizer Niecey she was well informed, very organized and accommodate all our requests and find a solution to our concerns. But special thanks to our tour guide Donovan. Donovan went all out to ensure we had the best time possible. He was funny, well informed about the history of the property, and kept us laughing nonstop. Shout outs to Shaquille our lifeguard at the Secret River and Mel who ensure we were fed and taken care of in the kitchen. Overall it was an amazing experience. The property is well maintained and the Customer Service is excellent from every staff we interact with.
The only drawback was the food the rice was not cooked at all and the food choice was limited.

First and foremost. The lady at the front desk was very rude and spoke to us as though we’re children, had it been someone white, they wouldn’t be like that to us.
1) all 7 of us wanted to ride ATV, we were told only 3 were available
2) every 2 minute a buggy would turn off and everyone had to wait for them to rectify the issue. The track was very short and not worth the money
3 Advertisement was fake!!! All that mud splash that you see advertised, don’t go their expecting it, only one single mud splash during the entire tour.
4) FOOD TASTE AWFUL!!!! I’m Jamaican and I know what jerk chicken is supposed to taste like, that shxt ain’t jerk chicken, wasn’t even seasoned!!!!!!
5) we were suppose to go on the river , however because of bad weather it was unavailable, so we asked for a second ATV/buggy ride and they said no

Definitely not going back to this place, very overrated!!

The worst experience ever!
The 2 young ladies at the front desk extremely rude and unprofessional. Not helpful, not accommodating, not apologetic…nothing!

We had a reservation for 5 people. We paid a drive to take us from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios (far drive 1 1/2 hours)
We arrive after a long drive only to find out the reservation was for 2 people.
The young lady at the front desk dropped the ball…her mistake. She put the wrong amount of people down.
She didn’t apologize…just dry and short answers. No explanation and no accommodations were made.
So basically a whole day of our vacation was wasted.
Needless to say everyone was pissed.

I would not book with them! Find somewhere else! Don’t waste your time or money!

This establishment is very unorganized and they only take cash although their sign says they only take credit/debit cards. We booked the Taste of Jamaica Cooking Class and it was nothing we expected it to be. Our expectations were that we would be actually cooking Jamaican dishes at our own table but it was nothing like the pictures displayed. We seasoned one chicken breast per person and gave it to the instructor to grill and that was all we were able to cook. It was a waste of time. We waited over an hour for the cooking class to begin after booking a specific time. My advice to future customers; if you are going to visit this establishment, book to complete more than one activity

Yaaman adventures is lacking in many areas been there twice to get the same disappointment. I felt like no one cared because we weren't white people. They are unethical especially when relating necessary information i promise myself i would never go there again. How can you set appointment for a person and relate information about everything a package includes and when we get there all the way from another parish the workers gonna inform us that we cant do so or you can’t accommodate so much because only 3 ATV bikes working at this time. No one showed any interest in misleading information we got no remorse showed for us leaving another parish to come out to yaaman.. they didn’t even apologize to us or anything and i must repeat this happen twice first time in December 10 2021 and august 1 2022so i wont let the third time catch with that experience
