We went on the Yaaman Rough Rider tour. We rode around the park on ATVs, over hills and ruts, puddles and curves and it was tremendous ! (I'm 72 years old and I will NEVER do that again, but I am so glad I did!) Everyone wears a helmet and I recommend wearing a mask, not for COVID, but for dirt, dust and water. They give good instructions. There was a guide at the rear to help, like when I stalled the ATV and bumped into the person in front. After the ride, we got into a tram pulled by a tractor and our driver, Horace, told us about the park, told jokes and gave us some excellent philosophical advice. He was great and the tractor goes up and down hills where you think it should not go. We went to the Secret River, a beautiful pool behind a water fall where Shane the lifeguard directed anyone who wanted to swim. Life jackets are available and you can walk into the water or jump. It was just beautiful. After a tractor ride back, we were given lunch- jerk chicken and rice and beans. Drinks are available to buy,
We booked this tour at the Bahia Principe through Chukka Tours, who provide the bus and I must give a compliment to our driver, Mr. Lou, who was very patient with people being finished late and spent time talking to my husband and me about Jamaica while we waited for other people. These things add so much to the experience.

We did the jerk chicken cooking lesson, camel ride and the Secret River swim. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. His sense of humour really belongs in a comedy club! The cooking lesson was well worth it. It was held in the back yard of the Great House overlooking the bay. We made a full lunch/dinner of grilled jerk chicken with sides of festival (deep fried sweet dough), steam pak choy, and rice with coconut sauce. It was delicious and very filling! The camel ride is not really worth it as you only get to ride around the pen which takes about a few minutes. The Secret River is a beautiful hidden gem of water falls and swimming hole. You have to walk down the hill to get to the river. It's physically challenging to walk back up the hill if you have breathing, heart or knee issues. I did notice an ATV around, so maybe you can ask for a ride up the hill after the swim. If you want more fun, I would suggest the ATV's, as long as you don't mind getting dirty. This is a great park with lots to see, do and learn. Highly recommend.

Last year my friends and I visited Yaaman Adventure Park and to this day we still reminisce on the wonderful time we had.

My favorite part of the trip was the ATVs. Initially, I was scared because this would be my first time on an ATV bike. However, the young men guiding us through the ride were extremely pleasant. The ride lasted for only twenty minutes but it was definitely worth it. I do not recommend wearing white clothing or shoes you would not want to get damaged.

The ride that took us to the river was enjoyable especially with the tour guide, Donovan who had us laughing the entire trip.

I enjoyed the secret river the least due to it being unbearably cold and the currents were very strong especially for a none swimmer. (NB. We were all given life jackets.)The view on the other hand was captivating.

The lunch we received with our package was tasty but measly. I would recommend including money for extra food in the budget.

Overall, it was a fun experience. If you are looking for a place to go with friends i would definitely recommend Yaaman Adventure Park.

We reserved and paid for the dune buggy excursion through Sandals Ochi Resort as
Offered by Yaaman Adventure Park. Our adventure was planned for Sunday, August 8th, and the trip had been planned weeks ahead of time. We arrived at the meeting place at our resort and, after a short wait, were picked up by a van and transported the approximately 5 minutes off property to Yaaman Adventures. After we checked in and presented our drivers licenses, we were told to proceed to the deck and wait to be called.

For the next two hours, we waited. Twice, an employee came and asked our names and what tour we had booked. A couple beside us was also waiting for the dune buggies and was given no more information than we received.

When two members of our party went to inquire, we were finally taken to the dune buggies. The only explanation given was that they “only had a certain number of vehicles.” This excuse is understandable to a point, but we had made a reservation. We had been forced to change our original reservation to another day because of flight cancellations, and we were charged more for the new reservation because of a price increase.

After another wait at a different location, we were fitted for helmets and then began our excursion.

The actual excursion lasted fewer than 15 minutes.

Let me reiterate that we had paid more than $100 (US) per person, waited over two hours past our reservation time, and then rode for approximately 12 minutes.

We paid about $10 per minute per person (There were two people in each dune buggy.) to ride a dune buggy.

Lunch was included in the price of the excursion. Lunch consisted of a small piece of meat and two small fritters. There was no drink, no utensil, and no napkin. (Drinks could be purchased.) We did not partake in the lunch because we just wanted to get back to our resort, but we heard other comments regarding the food.

Riding and driving the dune buggies was fun, but I can’t recommend this excursion in any way. In fact, I would say avoid it at all costs.

This establishment is very unorganized and they only take cash although their sign says they only take credit/debit cards. We booked the Taste of Jamaica Cooking Class and it was nothing we expected it to be. Our expectations were that we would be actually cooking Jamaican dishes at our own table but it was nothing like the pictures displayed. We seasoned one chicken breast per person and gave it to the instructor to grill and that was all we were able to cook. It was a waste of time. We waited over an hour for the cooking class to begin after booking a specific time. My advice to future customers; if you are going to visit this establishment, book to complete more than one activity

Worse and overpriced JOKE..
We were to ride a dune buggy through the wild woods and end up at a secret blue water hole for lunch.
Firstly- they charged each dune buggy an additional 10.00 usd for insurance in case we crashed and hurt the buggy. They were old Pieces of crap and stunk of burnt oil. Then they told us we could not take our belongings with us and charged us a 10.00. USD locker rental , no. Refundable, they gave us a cheap picture frame as a token, I threw mine out, then after being sent to a caged in small bird sanctuary, that’s what they called it, after 30 minutes, they brought us to another location
Waited another 30 minutes , before they gave us a helmet. We were on the dune buggy no more that 20 minutes
This was supposed to be almost a 2 hour adventure. It was no wild woods, they had trees marked with signs and piles of household garbage all around. After that
We were herded into a trailer pulled by a very old
Tractor, very uncomfortable to say the least. They drove us to the magic blue hole, first if all it was gray and if you looked to the other end of the river , there was old car parts, tires and trash, pure filth. We had to walk down probably close to 100 stairs to view this.
It was udder nonsense, no offer of water what so ever. It was hot 🥵.
After leaving up there fir a good 20 minutes, they put us bavk on the old trailer, drive us back to their seating area we they gave us a box which consisted of a chicken thigh a couple scoops of rice and microwaved veg all vegetables. After10!minutes, they gave us a plastic cup of juice, not sure what kind. Then they tried to force us to buy their photos they took at 30.00usd.
Finally they brought us to a souvenir shop of their choosing, which had all China made items at exorbitant prices.
We were SO glad to get back to our cruise ship. Will never go to Jamaica again and definately not Yaamann’s
ZOO it felt as if you were held captive!

The worst experience ever!
The 2 young ladies at the front desk extremely rude and unprofessional. Not helpful, not accommodating, not apologetic…nothing!

We had a reservation for 5 people. We paid a drive to take us from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios (far drive 1 1/2 hours)
We arrive after a long drive only to find out the reservation was for 2 people.
The young lady at the front desk dropped the ball…her mistake. She put the wrong amount of people down.
She didn’t apologize…just dry and short answers. No explanation and no accommodations were made.
So basically a whole day of our vacation was wasted.
Needless to say everyone was pissed.

I would not book with them! Find somewhere else! Don’t waste your time or money!

We visited Yaaman Adventure park last week with a party of 7. We wanted some zipline adventure, we ended up getting multiple shockers instead. It started with our experience with the ticket counter. First, The advertised price on their site is not what you need to pay if you are paying at the counter. You need to pay 6.50 dollars more. Okay but your site need to state that clearly. Second, when asked how many zip lines are there. The lady at the cashier said there are seven zip lines in the tour. Is there a water experience in the zipline tour ? Yes , said the lady at the cashier. We only learnt while doing the tour that there are only 4 ziplines . And forget about the splash in natural pool. There is a cement tub which has been dry and not operational for a while. Did I mention that our tour started 40 mins late.
You pay more than the advertised price for 7 ziplines and a water experience and you get only 4 with a dry cement tub to stare at the end.
When we asked about this on our return , the lady at the cashier feigned complete ignorance. Another lady, guest services manager or something - took 20 mins of back and forth and said she cannot refund our money. The best she can do is offer a complementary zipline tour in the next 3 days or so or give us complementary pictures. What a service ! What we didn’t like the first time , why would we waste our whole day one more time in travel to experience again !
Most irritating part was their balatant lie in our face that “we don’t know ! “Your tour guides are coming in and out every 30-45 mins and talking to you and you don’t know whether you have 4 ziplines or seven .
The tour guides themselves were helpful and entertaining. But the front desk and guest experience manager just took us for a ride with balatant lies from start to end.

I was really looking forward to enjoying the facilities instead i left been very upset and dispointed. Reservation was made for 1:30pm for 10adl 3 kids, we waited for almost 2 hours to start the tour, after been told we are now going to start a tour we were drop off to the river, our package included a plantation tour, atv ride and option to go river. Imagine our surprise that we were drop off to the river and was never ask anything, after requesting for the driver to get us , all we heard was excuses on top of excuses , no one decided to even attempted to fix the issue. I requested to be refunded , however as a person from the service industry this was poorly excuted on their part , no one took ownership of the problem instead allow 13 ppl to leave angry and will never consider to return or reccomend to anyone.

My friend and I showed up for a dune buggy tour 30 minutes prior to our reserved time. We had made the reservations at least two weeks prior. There was total disorganization and chaos where nobody seemed to know what was going on and where we should go. We kept seeking people out for info and were continuously told to wait at the tables and someone would get us when the dune buggies from the prior trip returned. We asked again after waiting an hour and we’re told 15 more minutes. After 30 more minutes we were informed that there were no more buggies left even though we had reserved well in advance. We were only offered a river ride as a substitute, which we declined because we had no interest. We explained we were spending a total of 3 hours in transit as we came from Montego Bay and had already been there for 2 hours, so had wasted 5 hours for nothing. You think a reputable business would have offered the refund AND the substitute tour on the house since they made the mistake and couldn’t accommodate us. But they wanted us to pay for the alternate tour. We even had to argue to get the $10 back for the locker it turns out we didn’t need. So we spent 5 hours and $60 dollars for driver tip and lunch for an excursion we never took. Lunch was supposed to be part of the excursion and they didn’t even have the decency to offer us the buffet available before our return trip , so our driver stopped on the way back so we could eat. The managers apology was half assed and no explanation for the mistake was given. We did find out from talking to other employees and our driver that it was over booked because of the cruise in port. We definitely arrived prior to the ship, but they were given priority. I guess because we were a smaller group through Island Routes we were considered less important.
