The Duns River Falls tour was worth the money. The falls are spectacular. It takes about an hour to do. The big negative is the gauntlet of Jamaican vendors you are forced to pass through to get back to your bus. They are slick sales men and women who are as persistent as a stalker. This took the shine off what was a great experience. We will not be coming back!

A woed of advice is to tell all the vendors you have no money or cards. And run don't walk.

No charge, ground slippery but great experience, visit when it's sunny as trees block out the sun and water is cold. Very helpful staff. Great place to visit towards end of trip when cash is low

A great walk up the falls
The annoying part was everyone has thier hand out looking for a tip from the photographer to the guide.
In order to leave you are required to pass aggressive souvenir stalls

If you dont want to go in the water you can walk up the side of the falls, lovely place. Plenty of places to sit and relax if you just want to chill.

we thought we'd be able to hang out there awhile without a guide taking us through. I think the visit was less that half hour and the souvenir hustlers were unbelievable. Our guide expected a $1000 Jamaican tip

A pity that the cruise ships claim most nice beaches but the Jamaicans have kept the best one for them.

Asking locals where to go we got a great hint. Little Dunn’s River Beach is a private beach that takes some climbing but is a little paradise !!!
Feeling ashamed as a tourist to claim one of their last gems !!

Parking along the costal road from Ocho Rios to Montego Bay just away from the Cruise-port you will find a small gate and a path down to the sea.
Of course there are nice people to help you down for a reasonable fee or rent you a nice beach-chair, but all relaxed and no pressure !

Swimming, snorkling on the inner-side of the reef is suitable for all ages and rinsing of the salty water is possible at the fresh water falls.

Just a little secret place!!

Why pay $20 to climb Dunn's River Falls with a LEGION of other camera-toting tourists, when Little Dunn's River is hiding in plain site on the ocean-side of the road just a ways before the main Dunn's River entrance? At Little Dunn's River, you can climb waterfalls on your own, and then bask in the spray as the water falls into the ocean, all with ZERO entrance fee, as this is officially a public beach. This spot is literally within walking distance of Reynold's Pier (though we had a private guide that took us to lots of places, including here), and has a lot more local flavor than the engineered experience at Dunn's River. You'll find a guy selling cold beer, maybe someone cooking and serving up food from the trunk of their car, and mostly locals swimming in the ocean and climbing the falls. The place only gets busy after 4pm weekdays, and all weekend, so you may find relative solitude there in the mornings and early afternoons during the week. Take note...while this is considered a "beach," there isn't much flat sand, so don't expect that. Expect pockets of sand surrounded by tree roots, and lots of flat, shallow water where the river enters the ocean, along with a few lovely waterfalls cascading over mineral deposits and into the sea. The short stretch of cascades along the main river channel can be climbed up to the road.

A beautiful and unique place. Overall cleaner than I expected but still too crowded. This is of course a major tourist destination so I didn't expect to have the place to myself, but the ammount of people climbing with us, as well as the other groups made it jsut to crowded to really enjoy the natural beauty.
By all means go if you are able, just be aware that you need to be in decent shape as it is a strenous climb.

Our guide told us about this place so we stopped and parked on the side of the road, crawled through a fence with a bunch of locals ("mom, why is that guy smoking weed while carrying his baby!!!!???"), and jumped right in. We climbed, bought a couple of sodas from unofficial vendors, got went, swam in the beach right there....a solid highlight of our trip.
