We decided to take a day trip to visit the plantation - birthplace of Samuel Sharpe, Jamaican hero. I wanted something a bit off the beaten path and see something different from the beachy tourist traps. The trip was a twisty climb up to the plantation - it took about 1.5 hours by car (you may want to take gravol).... More

Other than Dunns River Falls, this is by far one of the best excursions in Jamaica. It's a fair trip from town or the Cruise port, but well worth it. You learn all about the local plantation fare and the history of the area. You get to taste all the different beverages and fruit that they produce as well as... More

It ids a nice plantation and I enjoyed learning about pineapples and honey and coffee. The staff is nice and seeing all kinds of different trees and such is nice as you are on top of a mountain in touch with nature.

Long ride on terrible roads. Tour guide was very good. She was quite knowledgable about Jamaica ? The plantation was interesting in parts, lunch was good. Wouldn't do it again

By the time we had collected everyone from the different hotels, went up the mountain and arrived at the plantation 2.5 hours had passed. We walked round the plants and trees, briefly looked at the process of making coffee, the life of bees, tried different pineapples, etc. Then had lunch (rice, salad and barbecued chicken, staff very surly), looked at the... This trip benefitted from our exceptional guide, Winston. What could have been a fairly run-of-the-mill visit was educational without being boring and he brought humour and interest to everything.

Excellent tour - guide was very informative and very interactive. Scenery and countryside were spectacular and the variety of plants grown here (and the guide's knowledge of each and every one) was beyond impressive. Lots of opportunity to taste the produce actually grown there first hand! This was all followed up with a wonderful jerk chicken lunch. Definitely worth the... More

This was a good experience. After our nauseating drive up the mountains, we arrived late and they were very accommodating of this. We enjoyed pineapple juice and a few lessons and saw many plants and fruit Trees. We had a great lunch and the guide was good. Aside from one other group, the place was quiet. Worth the trip and... February 10, 2017 - We hired Best Jamaica Tour Company to take us to Croydon Plantation for the 10:30am lecture, tour, and lunch. During the tour, we were able to sample different types of pineapple, drink coffee, and a couple of cool drinks. We saw different types of fruit trees, coffee trees, and flowers. After the tour, we had a... More

The part of our tour was a visit of local school. We could see small children attending a lesson. Well… as we heard later from other visitors of plantation, not every tour includes this stop at school. Overall, the walking tour was very interesting so we learnt about varieties of pineapple or coffee processing. What we really liked it was... More
