After reading some of the other reviews I was a little nervous but our experience was exceptional. The difference being that it was NOT busy when we went (first thing in the morning). So the rafts were spaced far apart, we could only the see the rafters in front of us on 2 or 3 occasions and never saw anyone... More

The rafts are made of bamboo and have a nice padded seat area, it is a 45 minute leisurely trip down the river, just don't expect to see lots of wildlife as there isn't any.

Not exactly the romantic spot they claim. It could be, but the other rafts are often times right next to you. Our captain was a great guy, but he only talked about rough times growing up in Jamaica. Interesting, but not romantic. No info on the natural habitat, never stopped talking. Otherwise it could have been somewhat relaxing. Don't expect... More

This was one of the first excursions we did in Jamaica and loved it. We got there early to beat the cruise crowds so we were the only people on the river. The captain does try to sell you his handmade crafts towards the end of the ride and places all his crafts right in front of you and although... More

We took the afternoon excursion and had a very enjoyable time. Our only glitch was with the booking agent at our hotel who called us 30 minutes before our departure time (originally scheduled for morning) to say that we would have to change to the afternoon because the cruise ships were in..apparently they have priority because of their short stay... I adored my River Rafting. The Guide was very friendly like everyone else in this land. I really enjoyed everything about this vacation.

Lovely gentle afternoon spent floating down the river. But be aware even there you are at the mercy of souvenir sellers, just be firm and show no interest if you are not going to buy!

My husband and I had Guide #100 who had a great sense of humour and told us stories all the way. We had a very smooth ride with him as our Guide. It was quiet and peaceful. We took a cab from our resort to the excursion and arrived before the cruise ships. We were first on the river at... More

Glad we went to Martha Brea. Great for any first timer. $60 per raft. 2 persons max. $5.00 beer available along shore line from locals. Many tourist gifts for sale along banks as you flow down. Minor pressure at end of ride to purchase wood carvings from your captain. Didnt buy carvings but tipped Rasta Danny !!

When many ships are in port this attraction can be busy and there can be a long wait time for a raft. We had a fabulous driver and fantastic tour guide (Maria). On the way to the river we stopped for a half an hour at a souvenir stand which was a perfect amount of time. Then on to the... More
