My husband and I are in Jamaica for the next two weeks visiting with family. We took a trip overy to Fort Clarence because we couldn't go over to Ocho Rios. I have to admit I had an AWRSONE time. The beach and water was just what I anticipated. Blue and warm. We didn't stay in that long because the... More

Great seafood (fried or steamed fish, lobster when in season, conch soup, fish tea) and local sides like festival (fried cornmeal dumpling) plantain and bammy (fried or steamed cassava cakes). Disappointing maintenance of the beach and inadequate garbage disposal makes this an urban beach experience that is more about sun and food than sea and sand.

Beautiful sandy Caribbean beach but so much litter n stray dogs. Gangs of local families enjoy picnics, swimming etc.

This beach certainly gives you the natural elements of the country. The beach is maintained and the cooking is done right in front of you. Drinks are basic but it does add to the rustic environment.

Very relaxing and hot hot hot. The beach is alright but could be raked more often. The lobster shack is excellent. Back to basics, very authentic and yummy. Takes time to cook so order before you are starving. I was starving so it seemed to take longer. Friendly staff at the shack and the gate. Good value for the entrance... More

We rented a car and GPS from Avis to get to the beach. While the drive is a little stressful, it is the most economical way to get there and a good way to see other sites. We were amazed at the large number of white or yellow butterflies we saw on the way. Although we had read that the... More

Nice, quiet, friendly and very safe beach. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Hellshire beach. Visit Fort Clarence. Please note, you will pay a small charge to enter. I always visit when I return home and it never seems to disappoint.

A lovely beach with a very nice coastal panorama. The sand is beautiful and the sea is very clean. Really nice day.

If you are in Kingston and do not fancy the journey to the tourist havens of the north coast here is a fine beach close to Kingston where you will not be hassled. Do not forget to go and select you fried fish and festival. It will be cooked for you and brought to you on the beach. It is... More
