The best thing about this place is its close proximity to the cruise ship pier--you can easily walk here. Otherwise, while it is somewhat similar to the farmer's market in St. Francois to our eye, did not offer quite the variety of St. Francois and...More

The market square gives you a really good feel for the local flavor. Lots of fruits, vegetables, spices, fish and souvenirs. Unfortunately you cannot bring back anything except souvenirs. The people were dressed in their native madras plaid clothing and were not the friendliest. We...More

This is a couple of open air markets really close to each other. You can buy fresh fish right off the boat. You can find a lot of natural spices from the many different vendors. For Americans on vacation this is a different experience.

Le Marche de la Darse is just average, less than we expected. We visited on a afternoon and found many stalls closed. Not much variation in products offered.
