I booked a ticket from Martinique to Dominica. I booked it online in February and 2 weeks ahead. Booking was very easy. The company cancelled the ferry 24h before departure. Ok, that can happen and at least I got an information. I had to use a ferry of another company, leaving the same day but in the morning. Because of this that day I had to get up at 5am to go back to Fort de France, drop down the rented car and going to the harbour... It took me almost 2 month to get my money back. I got the refund after I contacted the company and wrote several e-mails. First they couldn't tell me that they need my bank details (?), than they said the account was blocked (I called my bank: nothing was blocked). To have a relaxed trip I recommend taking another company!

We here supposed to travel from pointe a pitre to les saintes. Both travel on different day were cancelled without any notice. Client service did not answer us and we don't have any refund yet. STAY AWAY. Use instead Deher company base in Trois Tiviere. You will have an excellent service, ticket office in Les Saintes et Trois Riviere and many boat run every day. If you want to get the island as planning. FORGET AND DO NOT reserve with VAL Ferry.

The customer service for ValFerry was great. We booked two "Discovery Pass" packages, which includes 2 r/t tickets from Point a Pitre to Les Saintes & Marie Galante for one price. The cost was more than I thought, but I just was really looking for convenience. After emailing the company to get more information about what was included in the Discovery Pass, they called me to book the tickets and specific trips over the phone. The woman spoke English well, and I received an email confirmation shortly after we ended the call. Fast forward to the day of the trip, we used the paid parking lot at the Point a Pitre Ferry Terminal. We went up to the ticket counter and I showed the employee the emailed invoice/confirmation. She spoke great English, printed out our tickets, and told us which gate the ferry was departing from. Very quick and easy. The employees on the ferry were also very nice. They were available to help anyone who was stumbling around during the choppy ride (not the ferry company's fault.) We also chatted with one employee who led us to the upstairs outdoor deck where we can see the beautiful scenery while heading to our destination. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again.

Easy to book over the phone, good price, crossing a bit rough but not the fault of the ferry company

We were traveling for the day out of Trois Rivieres to Terre-de-Haut. When you make your way down to the area where the ferry leaves, there is a large parking lot, and an attendant collects 5€ for the day. It seems that there are three ferry companies to choose from: Val Ferry, CTM Deher and Beatrix. We went with Val Ferry leaving at 9AM. We arrived to buy our tickets at about 8:40, on a Monday, and had no problem. The 9AM ferry ended up not leaving until about 9:15. It seemed like they were waiting to fill it up. You could either sit inside downstairs or outside, partially covered upstairs. If you are even a little prone to seasickness, you will likely feel it on this trip, so prepare for that ahead. It’s a relatively quick, 30 minute trip, but the seas were extremely rough. The upstairs on the way back seemed to be better. We had booked a round trip ticket. Check the time on the sign before you leave in the morning because it is not printed on your ticket. Our return ferry was scheduled for 5:00PM. We began queueing at about 4:45. 5:00 came and went with no sign of a Val Ferry boat. Meanwhile, a CTM Deher and Beatrix ferry each came and went. At about 5:30, an announcement was made that they were working on the boat and that the new time would be “7:00PM”. It ended up being about 6:15 that a ferry showed up. Based on other comments, it sounds like this may be a recurring theme. On the other hand, there are worse places to be delayed than beautiful Terre de Haut! Delay and rough seas aside, the experience was fine.
