We just spent a wonderful day with Simon Green who runs Hidden Treasures hikes. He did a marvelous job of designing two hikes that worked for our group of ten that ranged in age from 12 to 78. We got to see both Grand Etang Forest and what was clearly a hidden waterfall that most travelers don't get to experience (we had 100% to ourselves despite cruise ships being docked in town). He did a marvelous job of finding trails we could all navigate and could not have been more attentive to the older part of our party, helping over rocks, providing extra support on hills and generally going above and beyond to make them comfortable throughout. He was also a wealth of information about everything on the island - plant life, history, economic, music, restaurants ... a true renaissance man. I truly could not recommend enough spending a day with him if you are trying to see part of Grenada that are a bit off the beaten path and doing so with a knowledgeable, attentive, creative and genuinely interesting guide.

Let me say, that I had the great fortune of connecting with Simon.
I first spoke with him from Germany. My first impression was that he was a professional and a gentleman.
I booked him to take my 14 year old son, his 14 year old friend and myself up to the top of Mt St Catherine. Grenada's highest mountain.
In Grenada, my brother decided to join us. No problem with Simon.
The morning of the climb we met in the St George's area and drove to Simon's preferred point of ascent.
He had advised us on what to bring etc and appeared also very properly prepared with emergency ropes etc.
We had a very nice hike /climb to the top.
The first part was very steep but otherwise easy. The second stage was much shorter but more challenging but Simon took us through very capably.
I was very happy that I'd used his services.
I'm a Grenadian now living abroad and in my younger days had climbed the mountain with two friends and our wits. I'd not recommend that now. There's been an extremely powerful hurricane which has totally destroyed the old paths, making them impassable or dangerous and no sensible guide would use them. He knew this all.
I'm very sure that I'd not have found the safe path that he guided us through, by myself. He used his cutlass /machete, to clear the path ahead of us.
Having rested and taken in the fabulous view and a brushing up of the local geography, we then decended.
Back at the vehicles, we then visited a small local shop, bought some snacks and drinks, joked and chatted and departed for home.
Simon, his friend Jeff who had joined us and the rest of us , suitably tired, somewhat more knowledgeable and totally pleased, went home for a well deserved sleep, with very pleasant memories.
I can easily, wholehearted recommend Simon as a guide as per our experience.
Thanks Simon and really sorry that we couldn't join you on your costal and waterfall hike but we had other plans and limited time.
Till the next time we meet, good luck with your business. Stay safe....Howard

If you are visiting Grenada and want to experience the history, culture and incredibly beautiful nature of the island, I could not recommend booking a day with Simon, more strongly - DO IT! We visited a cocoa plantation and rum distillery with tasty samples along the way, stopped at a beach where rocks still showed Petroglyphs, carved by the original people of the island. We stopped at a beach for a great fresh lunch, and all the time we were walking around or being driven by Simon, he kept us fascinated with interesting historical and cultural stories. His ability to safely navigate the winding steep roads was a plus! The ultimate memories were made during our rainforest hike. A challenging and exciting descent into a double waterfall clearing. I've never been so excited, to dive into a crystal clear secluded pool, with the powerful waterfall thundering away, in the quiet and majesty of the lush green canopy. Just the three of us being in the pool together, sharing the joy and beauty was magic indeed. The hike back up was powered by the energy from the pool! Thank you Simon!

We found Simon via the L'Esterre Estate website following an article written in the Telegraph Newspaper earlier this month and we were incredibly grateful we followed up and booked a trip.
Simon was absolutely fantastic - he came to the house to collect us, although was a bit optimistic about getting 8 of us into his car! I think he prefers groups of up to 6? And then our adventure began! We thought we were going to visit the Cocoa and Nutmeg farm, but Simon took us on a magical mystery tour to experience life in the Grenada countryside away from the beaches and tourist locations.
We just loved visiting Auntie Lauren at L'Esterre and Simon's knowledge of plants, ecology, history...you name it, he answered every random question we gave him and treked us across the Estate to see how Cocoa and Nutmeg are grown, harvested and prepared for market. All fascinating to us and we loved tasting the leaves and fruits as guided by Simon. Sadly for us it was Independence Day and so we could not enjoy lunch in the Plantation House, but Simon gave us another fascinating insight of Grenadian culture with an 'Oildown' on Batway Beach - delicious! Cooked by Handel and surrounded by friends and family. As we drove back after lunch we saw so many people cooking their own 'Oildown' in their gardens and we really did feel like locals.
After lunch, Simon took us to a unique boutique chocolate maker at Crayfish Bay and Kim explained his ethos of working within the community. I'm sure there are more commercial chocolate making experiences on the island, but this was up close and personal and interesting to hear more about life on the island from an Englishman who calls it his home. And the chocolate was delicious too!
As mentioned, Simon gave us all a fantastic insight into life on Grenada and we loved every moment - thank you.

Simon is a real professional, and we greatly enjoyed a hiking tour with him to the beautiful Grand Etang area. Beyond his advanced skills as a mountaineer (which we didn’t come close to testing), he is a friendly and very knowledgeable guide. He is a well educated, well travelled and informed person with a diverse professional background who is always engaging. Discover the hidden gems of Grenada — Hidden Treasures is highly recommended!

Simon and his lovely driver took our family party of 9, including 3 children, out on a fabulous tour of Grenada in a comfortable open top truck. I would highly recommend this trip, which was a great combination of hiking, driving, sightseeing and eating! Simon has great knowledge of Grenada, so you learn as you have fun. The open top truck is a great way to travel, as you see so much and locals wave to you as you pass through villages and towns. Simon and his driver are lovely and I can honestly say this trip really was one of the best days of our holiday. Highly recommended.

We’ve hiked with Simon’s team at Hidden Treasures on each of our last trips to Grenada and hands down would recommend to anyone visiting the island and looking to trek off the beaten path. Simon is a fascinating guide and knowledgeable about various plant species, their uses and origins, which fueled my curiosity on our first hike up Mount Qua Qua. Be sure to book his services on your next trip!

Hands down Hidden Treasures Tour is the best tour guide in Grenada! Their name says it all! Sio was very professional and his energy was refreshing. We visited so many amazing places during my short trip, some even locals have never seen. Some of my favs were the sulphur springs with a chocolate massage by Pearline, the adventures at welcome rock and the history lesson at a local museum, but there are so many more. I can honestly say that Sio helped me immerse myself in the Grenadian culture.
Definitely check them out if you want an unforgettable experience! I guarantee you a GREAT TIME!!

My husband and I spent the day with Simon on an island tour of Grenada. We had a GREAT day! The itinerary was tailored to our wants and interests. We started off seeing Grand Anse beach and St George's. Then headed towards the rainforest where we saw a MONA MONKEY!! highlight for me for sure! We hiked to Grand Etang Lake and around the area. We hiked to Seven Sister's Waterfall and swam in the pool. From there we went to a Levera beach where we had a casual lunch with a perfect view! We visited River Antoine Rum distillery too! Being on resort is great but you really get to experience the island and what it has to offer going out and exploring and Simon did a great job of showing what Grenada has to offer! We would love to come back and do a hiking trip with him!

I went on a hike up Mt Qua Qua with Simon and it was an excellent experience. He is so knowledgable on the history of Grenada, its flora and fauna, geography and everything in between. Simon was then happy to show me some other sites on our way back to Grand Anse which really added to my taste of Grenada in the limited time I had available.
