More than a sight, is a chase! There are many tour operators offering the experience of watching the whales. Starting at the Samana Marina we were taken in a boat with lifejackets availables but not required. One representative of the navy boarded with us to be sure we do not harm the whales. As we got into the sea, our... More

Went on 4 Whale Watching trips, each with Kim Baddell and Whale Samana. The real hi light of my holiday. Seeing Whales, Dolphins and Turtles in their natural habitat Is the only way to enjoy them. Kim was very informative and clearly passionate about whale conservation. The crew really took care of the guests, supplying sea sickness relief if required.... More

We took a whale watching tour through Whales Samana, run by Kim, and were very pleased. Not only is Kim's team very knowledgeable and respectful of each whale, they are working with research teams to document and keep tabs on the whales' movements. Kim ensures that everyone on the boat has a fair chance to see the whales, (we saw... More

If you go to Samana or nearby places, this is a trip I would recommend it was great seeing a family of whales coming to spawn, the whales just go about their business while you watch from the boat, it is some sight to see beautiful animals.

Ok so we booked this through thomson and was advised it was a 3hr trip there and a 3hr trip back. Considering we were being picked up at half 5 we thought this would be a nice long day as will be back at 7.. see attached. We met a few people at our hotel who we promoted the trip... More

Probably the best place to see whales. I have been on a few whale watching trips in various locations around the world and this was by far the best we have been to. Lots of breaching and mothers with calves--purely Kodak moments. Make sure you take Gravol before going as the sea gets quite rough. Don't let this deter you... More
