We had to go from Samana to Punta Cana with our 3 kids. Chartering an airplane was too expensive and going by car would have been about 6 hours which we didn't want to do to our kids. So we considered to take the ferry from Samana to Sabana de la Mar. Case from Dominican Shuttle was very honest with us that this is a local ferry and we shouldn't expect a luxury boat. That was true and the boat ride was bumpy and it was pouring rain and we think there were way too many people on that boat (plus three motorbikes in the back). But we had faith! And we made it! Having experienced bumpy boat rides before this was not the worst but probably also not the safest. I wish they would have given life vests to the kids at least. That would have helped. But even though we asked they wouldn't provide them. In my opinion once the boat is sinking it is too late to hand out life vests. However, it saved us a lot of time and we enjoyed the bus ride very much. And I think most days of the year there are way less people on that boat (this was Dec 30 and a very busy time of the year).

Hello, thank you for your response! We do realize the ferry ride can be a bit intimidating, and that is why I always 'warn' our clients what to expect (and what not to expect). I am sorry your ferry ride was less than perfect, and you are probably quite right that this was an exceptionally busy day. Pouring rain of course did not help! If it would have been a sunny day, few people on the ferry, and a smooth bay you would likely have enjoyed the experience. We do very much appreciate your fairness in giving us 5 stars for this service, despite the discomfort of the ferry ride! I hope we will be able to offer our services again on any future trip you might be planning to the Dominican Republic. Thanks again for your positive review! Kind regards, Case.

We used Dominican Shuttles three times during our stay in DR (Punta Cana to Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo to Bayahibe, and Bayahibe to Punta Cana Airport) and were very satisfied. We booked a day ahead and drivers showed up on time and in good vehicles. Ordering form on web worked fine, payment was easy and secure and they got back to me quickly on the chat when I had questions.
Sure, it's more expensive than regular taxi / Uber, but definitely worth it when traveling longer distances.

We booked Dominican shuttles from the UK to take us from la Romana, to Our hotel in Punta Cana. Case was really helpful and I was able to pay by credit card, which saved me taking a lot of cash. The driver spoke no English, but fortunately I can speak Spanish so all was good. We then used them twice more, once to visit to different venues in Punta Cana, and then to take us to the airport at the end of our stay. Each time I paid by card. They are very competitively priced and we would use the, again if we were in the area.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to write a review on Dominican Shuttles. We are very happy to hear you were satisfied with our services, and that you would use us again if you are ever back in the DR. We strive to make the ground transportation part of your vacation as pleasant and hassle-free as possible despite our competitive pricing, as you noted. We look forward to being able to offer our services again on any future trip to our fair isle. Kind regards, Case.

I truly hate to leave a bad review, especially given the state of the world and how businesses are struggling to recover. I have tried to contact this company in the hopes they would correct their mistake, but have received no response. We used this company for our route from Punta Cana to Las Terrenas.

Their website states that the Ferry + Shuttle Combination is "As an attractive and affordable option we offer a Ferry & Shuttle combination between the areas of Punta Cana and Samana." This is simply UNTRUE. The taxi is incredibly overpriced, and the "Ferry" is actually about $5 per person US (300 Dominican Pesos).

Here is a summary of our experience:

Our driver from Punta Cana was on time, and we arrived at the Ferry “dock” at approximately 10:50am. However, he promptly abandoned us after a brief introduction to someone who seemed to be working on the dock.

I was shocked to find out that the cost for the Ferry was only 300 pesos per person to board, and there was no guaranteed seat. For the price of the service $299 USD, I was expecting an actual ticket that would ensure a spot on the Ferry boat. The price for Taxi only we had been quoted much less from other companies.

Boarding the Ferry was a free-for-all with no sense of order. It was literally a scene out of the Titanic, with people scrambling to board a small fishing boat to tow out to the “Ferry” that was being packed like a can of sardines. We watched in horror as the Ferry boat sank lower and lower, being packed more and more full of people, with their motorbikes thrown on top of the boat as well. Not the ideal situation with Covid, nor the thought of drowning in the Samana Bay.

We watched this go on in the blazing sun and heat for about 30 minutes, it became obvious there was not going to be room on this Ferry for us and our luggage. So, my boyfriend who speaks some conversational Spanish, asked one of the “dock workers” if there would be another boat coming. We were told it would not be until 3pm, if it even came back at all.

We arranged with this person for a speed boat to come pick us up from the other side of the bay so that we could hopefully make our other taxi we had pre-paid with Dominican Shuttles. The price for the boat was $175 USD.

In my conversations leading up to our trip, it was NEVER mentioned by this service that the Ferry is "out of their control." They had assured me that it was a safe and reliable option. I should also mention that our driver told us he had not been paid in almost a month and we would be his last ride with this company!

I hope in the future, they will be more upfront with their customers as to what exactly this “service” entails. If you have read my review thus far, I would hire another taxi company to take you to Sebana Del La Mar, and go across the bay by speedboat, which was actually really fun! Now that you know the ACTUAL price, you could more easily haggle with a company.

Found this service searching on google on how to get from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana for a resort with my wife and our 6 year son. First of all they were an hour late to pick us up to get to the resort from the location I asked them to pick me up from which I wasted a whole day at the resort. Second the driver stopped at a gas station to go use the restroom which is understandable because I too had to use the restroom and get some water since it's an almost a 4 hour ride but then he tried to stop at other places especially to stop at a quick food restaurant to get some food for himself and us which I told him no thanks and to get us there quick because my son was getting so anxious. This is very unprofessional and for 139 dollars American I was expecting better. I will never use this service again and if I could get my money back I would. Stay as far away from this service as you can unless you're ok with the driver making unnecessary stops instead of getting you to your destination asap.

If you happen to make the crazy mistake I did and book a flight into Punta Cana but rent a house near Puerto Plata, you’ll need the assistance of Dominican Shuttles! They saved us from a 5+ hour ride on our return home with a private flight from PP to PC. Amazing communication and service from Chase. Highly recommend!

Hello Katie, Thank you very much for your wonderful review! I am glad to have been of assistance. Unfortunately, your mistake is not that crazy ... many people run into the same problem, not realizing that the Dominican Republic is as large an island as it is. We are happy to be able to offer both private flights and private ground transportation between the two locations (and anywhere else in the DR). We hope you will be give us the oportunity to offer our services again on your next trip to our fair isle (hopefully just a quick transfer from airport to hotel)! Kind regards, Case

I booked the round trip from Santo Domingo Airport to Punta Cana.
When we landed, the driver was on time, the car was comfortable.
For the return trip, I realized at the time of the pick-up that I booked the wrong date. I contacted the customer service via WhatsApp and they hopefully found a solution within 30 min. We managed to get our flight. Great support. Thanks again.

When I first booked my family's round trip transfer with this company, I thought it was a great deal ($59 Private Roundtrip Transfer for 4 people); and even after we arrived at PUJ and were taken to our resort from the airport (on-time, newer car, pleasant drive), I believed that after traveling to Punta Cana for the past 11 years, we had finally found the one transportation company that we would use from that point on, because of the value and stress free ease of the transfer. Little did I know that this would all change on our return transfer from our resort to the airport just 7 days later. On the day we were leaving, the driver from this company was on time and friendly. He helped the resort bell hops load our luggage in the back of his van. "7 pieces of luggage", the driver asked. "Yes, I chuckled. We aren't exactly light packers". The drive to the airport was pleasant & I felt reassured, knowing that we would be arriving on schedule and would have plenty of time to check-in, grab a bite to eat and find our gate for departure prior to boarding. I could relax. That wasn't too much to ask, especially since it was our vacation. When we arrived at the airport, our nightmare began and is still ongoing as I type this review. My daughter's laptop (in a black leather carrying case) with all the pictures from our excursions that we had purchased while on vacation were stored on there, as well as other pertinent information and files, had been placed in the back of the van on top of the rest of our 6 bags. We never check her laptop with the rest of our checked luggage, as she takes it onboard with her to watch movies during our 3.5 hour flight back home. When we got out of the van at the airport, our driver helped get our luggage out, while the luggage assistants waiting on the sidewalk were standing eager to help us out. My husband tipped the driver and turned to attend to our luggage as we made our way to the check-in counter. It was in that first 2 minutes that our daughter realized that she didn't have her laptop bag. The driver was pulling away as my husband attempted to flag him down by chasing after the car, to no avail, as he never stopped. We frantically searched for the contact number to Dominican Shuttles, and a young lady working at this circular airport help station asked if she could be of assistance. We explained the ordeal very quickly & told her the urgency of getting in touch with the company to get the driver to turn around, so we could retrieve our daughter's laptop from the van that just pulled away less than 5 minutes ago. We called the company and the young lady spoke to David from Dominican Shuttles. The lady told us that David was sending our driver back to the airport, so we could get the bag with the laptop & continue on to the check-in counter, receive our boarding passes, etc. Our teenage children waited with the other luggage, while my husband and I waited for the driver to return. I called our resort while I was waiting and explained the situation and they were very helpful and wanted to do all they could, so they checked to make sure the bag hadn't fallen out of the van when all the bags were loaded. It wasn't there, and the man remembered they had loaded 7 bags into the back of the van and even checked the video surveillance for us. (Keep in mind, approximately an hour has gone by while we are still waiting in the hot sun for our driver to return with the laptop.) The hotel surveillance footage did show the 7 bags being loaded into the van at our resort. We had 6 bags at the airport, so the one bag had to still be in the back of our driver's van, wherever that was! After approximately an hour and 15 minutes of waiting & waiting in the hot sun, I called David at Dominican Shuttles to find out what was taking the driver so long to get back to the airport. We knew he couldn't have gotten more than 5-10 miles away before he was contacted to return to the airport. David informed me that the driver would not be returning to the airport because he had other customers to take care of. I reminded him that he had told the airport assistant that he would contact the driver to return to the airport. He said that she had lied to us, which I thought was rude to say, even if she had've been. But, why would the young lady lie about that? It just seemed strange. When I asked David what he was going to do, because we needed to get that laptop asap, because our flight would be leaving soon and we hadn't even been able to check-in yet. He proceeded to tell me that it wasn't his problem; he didn't have time to deal with it, because he was busy and had a business to run and customers to take care of. I'll admit, I was a bit rude at this point in the conversation. I didn't understand why he didn't take care of us, since we were his customers, as well. He kept yelling about not having time, not his responsibility, etc. and that he didn't think that the bag was even in the car. How could he know if he didn't even check? I was frustrated, hot, late for check-in, and still didn't have our laptop. I told him that I called the resort & that they had video surveillance of that laptop bag going into the back of the van. He just said he didn't have time and was busy with his job. He was very unprofessional and rude. To keep this lengthy story from going on and on, much like the nightmare we are still dealing with: We ended up having to check-in, run to our gate, barely making our flight, called as soon as we landed, and my husband called Dominican Shuttles back. He spoke with David, who didn't want to discuss the facts, like the driver never returned, the laptop was still in his van, etc. He just wanted to talk about how rude I had been to him on the phone and that I shouldn't have talked to him like that, etc. without even addressing the one & only problem! We had to go through customs, get the rest of our bags, find the parking shuttle & make our way back home. On the drive home, my husband called Dominican Shuttles back again and spoke with Mr. Case, who was very polite, apologized that it happened and promised to look for the missing laptop the next morning. That's when we found out that David had never had his driver stop the van and look for it. He had lied to us. We called back the next day, David was working, so I thought, "Great! He isn't going to help us, I'm sure!" David said there had been 5 other groups who had ridden in the van since we had, but he would contact the driver & see if it was still in the van & that he would call my husband back. David never called back! We ended up contacting the US Embassy for help. That person was very polite and tried to help us. He contacted David and said that he was aggressive & unwilling to help. Since this nightmare has begun, David has told numerous stories, none of them making any logical sense. He is hostile & refuses to listen to anything when my husband calls, even though my husband has remained very calm & polite through this whole ordeal. I would not be so polite & calm, because at this point, David has shown that he doesn't really care about his customers and refuses to do the morally right thing in all of this. We told him that if the laptop was found, we would gladly pay all shipping charges and would still recommend this company to all who needed transportation services while in the DR. David refuses to look in the van for the laptop and it has been 3 days now. He hung up on my husband the last time he called, but not before changing his story again. Someone has the computer at this point, because an email address was hacked before we changed the password. This whole situation has made me sick and left a negative lasting impression. I don't think we will be returning to Punta Cana for a 12th year. It's just sad when people in business do not just do the simple and right thing to correct a mistake. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this transfer/transportation company to anyone who values responsibility and honesty. It is worth paying a little more to go with a more reputable, trustworthy company.

This company is great. The communication is fantastic. We used them for a shuttle from Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas as well as a Cessna from El Catey airport to Punta Cana airport.

Case was always available and accommodating. The service was excellent and prices were fair. I will use them again.

It was OK, when we arrived there was a Guy with Domican Shuttles Identification, then we were taken to a van only for us.
My only thing was that the driver was extremely tired, probably because of the many hours of work, we kept trying to talk to him for fear of sleeping on the wheel. But he was very polite, and we arrived safe at our resort.
When back to the airport, the same driver was waiting for us at the appointed hour so everything was fine with our trip.
Be careful when you arrive Punta Cana, they have an area still inside de airport, where they approach the tourist and try to sell trips, transfers and even different resorts. we saw a couple who after being taken to a different resort had enormous difficult to back to the resort they booked. I don’t know why they allow this people stay inside the airport what helps people being cheated. This has nothing to do with Dominican Shuttles, mas it is good to be aware of.

Hello Fernando, thank you very much for taking the time to write a review! I read with interest your comments on the tired driver. That is something we try to make sure does not happen as we are very safety-concious, and I very much appreciate your letting us know, as it is only through our customers' comments can we improve our service. The general problem you mention regarding Punta Cana airport is definitely an issue we are aware of. The guys you mention are referred to as 'Pirates', and as you correctly point out, they indeed cheat many innocent travelers arriving at Punta Cana airport. As long as our customers meet up with their drivers at our designated Counters, this problem should be easy to avoid. Thanks again for your positive review! Best regards, Case
