About
Punta Espada Golf Course is already listed among the worlds finest, with the renowned GolfWeek ranking it as the best golf course in the Caribbean and Mexico. Eight holes play along and over the sea. From all points of Punta Espada, golfers are blessed with extraordinary views of the Caribbean, where the sea contrasts against the emerald fairways and the perfect greens. Challenging stroke play and beauty are entwined in this outstanding par 72 course, which hosted the inaugural PGA Tour’s Champions Tour in April 2008 - The Cap Cana Championship. The annual tournament is televised internationally through the Golf Channel and its license-holding subsidiaries.

    Excellent course- Great Memories
This is the 2nd time that we have played Punta Espada and I hope that we can continue to come back here. Alejandro was our caddy, he had been working there for 6 years and he had very helpful tips both on the T off and close to the green. We started on the back 9 as there was quite there were a couple of slow groups in front of us. I do prefer though starting with Hole 1 as you then fully experience the build up in what the course has to offer . The course though didn't disappoint at all- it has great 'energy'. It is so well blended into the terrain, and we had a nice breeze blowing (and a patch of rain!) to further challenge our shots. Love of course especially holes 12, 13, 17, 2, 3 and 4.

    Excellent Golfing Experience
Excellent Experience! We highly enjoyed our round of golf at Punta Espada. The course was stunning, the Caddies were excellent (funny & helpful), and the golf was challenging yet enjoyable! The guys enjoyed the course so much, they booked another day at the course!

    Great course- very memorable!
Great course! I have played almost every British Open venue including St Andrews Old, Portrush, Muirfield, Turnbury, Royal Troon, Carnoustie, as well as most top in the world including Pebble, Cabot and Bandon, Royal Melbourne, Kapalua, Princeville- this one is very good! Was debating whether to go to Teeth of the Dog but the price for outside golfers was exorbitant and drive from Punta Cana was longer than I wanted- the course arranged transport to and from our hotel and very organized. Our caddy Angel was fantastic! A good golfer (handicap 6) he routed us around the course skillfully and was fun and engaging- ask for Angel if you want a skillful ally on your bag. Wonderful experience!

Beautiful course ectacular views. However I played at 1236 and the round took 5 hours and half hours. After the first nine holes I called the pro shop and they did nothing. The folks who manage this course need to understand that if you are paying for a top course you cannot allow the pace of play to be that slow. When I finished the round I asked to speak with the manager and they told me he was not available. I hope if I get back to this beautiful course they will have learned to be responsible to keep the pace of play to a max of 4.5 hours at most

I love to play golf, so i decided to visit this course. Videos and images thru the internet doesn’t make any justice to this jewel. You don’t know if you want to play or just admire the beauty. It’s a really challenging course, but if you get Gilberto as a caddy you will be in good hands. Hope i can play there again..

The only reason this isn't a 5 start is because of the rental clubs. While Titleist T300s are great irons, they only offer steel shaft blades. No offset option, or graphite shafts. I play a graphite shaft with an offset head. This make the course that much more challenging.

It is the most beautiful course I've ever played. Armando was a great caddie that's been in the business for a long time. He knew the course well and picked up on our playing ability very quickly.

The wind was a challenge as well and the greens were super fast. Almost like putting on concrete. If we played more than one day I would have shipped my clubs there. But for $65 the rental clubs will suffice. I just hope they have more options. I would think a course that is #1 in the Caribbean would have more club options

From the moment I stepped on property the service was second to none.. including a courtesy car to and from my hotel to the course.. the staff in pro shop were helpful polite and assisted with all queries about my day, from sourcing me the most suitable hire clubs for my play (scratch golfer) with new Titleist T300, quality Titleist woods and a Scotty putter.. the caddy was polite on introduction and assisted with the range, and clubs while I practiced (on perfect practice facilities).. from the moment I got to first tee to putting out on 18 the experience was awesome.. the course was amazing maintained to an exceptional standard and given I was a single player and teed off at 08.00 there was no one on the course.. the caddy Luiz, was helpful and knowledgeable and was a definite be if it to my experience.. true millionaires golf.. the stretch of holes hugging the coast are some of the best you could play anywhere in the world.. the cost may put some people off but shouldn’t as it truly is a once in a lifetime experience and worth every dollar…

The golf course is definitely a 5 star course but the service was trash. There was a miscommunication with our food order and the staff just said “we were wrong” and refused to help us make it right. Definitely a language barrier here. The caddy came off rude and provided more
Guidance than was welcomed. We wanted to just have a good time and drink. We’re weren’t playing competitively. The course marshal came out and rushed us. After spending $400 to play this course we overall felt like the service was not up to par. And we unfortunately would not recommend this course.

I recently had the privilege of playing Punta Espada Golf Club.
The experience was absolutely amazing!
The views were spectacular, and the course was in great condition.

I have played many nice courses including Pebble Beach, and this course stacks up with the best courses anywhere.

The staff was very friendly. I was helped at the club by Felipe Gonzalez.
Felipe welcomed me and made my club experience wonderful.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a
once in a lifetime golf experience.

Thank you, Felipe for your Five Star treatment!

I’ll start with I have played 70 of the top US courses and 30 of the top 70 non US in the world! This is the best course I have ever played, over Pine Valley, Cabot, Scotland, Bandon, Cypress, Merion, name it I have played it! The views are unreal, the course is in perfect conditions, forget Teeth, Coralas this is the one you want to play! Caddies name was Martin, fantastic guy and caddie knew the course like the back of his hand! Buy the multi round package, one will not be enough!

Was fortunate to play Punta Espada last week. They arranged for a driver to pick us up at our resort (Sanctuary Cap Cana) at no additional cost. The course was EMPTY! Only a few other groups out there. We played behind a retired MLB all star. The greens fees were not cheap, but the property is well worth the cost. We rented clubs, as I would recommend you do as well. The bunkers and waste areas are a bit rocky and will ruin a good set of irons. The rental sets could use to be updated as they were a bit beat up with old grips, not great with sweaty hands. (Titleist AP1 irons, approx. 5 years old)

The course was extremely playable, even in the high wind. The course conditions were excellent, and we tend to have high standards as our home club is impeccable. The women in the pro shop were cheerful and eager to help. The clubhouse was beautiful and locker rooms has Sun Bum sunscreen (our favorite).

Our caddie, Armando, was fantastic and made us feel at home. He was quick to recommend a line or cheer on a great shot. "BUENO BALLO!!!"

We highly recommend this course if you are in the area. No mystery as to why Golf magazine has it listed as the #18 Top Course You can Play!

Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing you again!

What a great course and views are fantastic, not really worth the cost of 300 dollars but had to play it.
Unfortunately the caddy that we had got upset when we gave him 50dollars tip, even though 30 is recommended.
Thought value for money at 200 dollars less was La Cana views just as good and course is fantastic as well.
