About
A dramatic Tom Fazio 18-hole course with six Caribbean Oceanside holes. Designed along the natural cliffs, bays and coves of the sea, the inland lakes and coralina quarries the Corales Course rates among the World's finest golf experiences. The exhilarating challenge culminates playing the Devil's Elbow, Corales's last three holes. The Devil's Elbow features the striking 18th hole with a dramatic forced carry over the cliff lined Bay of Corales, an inspired capstone to a memorable and breathtaking golf experience.

Let me start by saying we played Punta Espada the day before and we were blown away. Today left us wanting that and the golf course did the same.

Had we not done Punta Espada the day before, I might have a different t review but here it goes.

The pro shop at check in is just so so…the clubhouse is severely lacking.

Sammy our caddie was great and took care of us from step one. He was friendly, helpful and kept us moving along and never held up.

The course was a lot of fun but nothing compared to Punta Espada, less on the water and less fun in multiple ways. We paid the same green fees at both.

The beer carts were less stocked.

The overall vibe wasn’t there for this course and for the price left me wanting alot more.

Was there in Feb 2018 and played at a few golf courses in Punta Cana. We played at LaCana, iberoatar and Corales. Out of the 3, we had the worst experience at Corales. We had tee times but when we got there, the carts were not available and neither were any caddies. We waited over an hour for just 5 carts and then no one could find more than 2 caddies for the 10 of us. The pro shop guy got agitated with us when we complained and told us rudely to take our money back. Then they sent couples who had later tee times ahead of us with a cart.

For the money we spent, it was a horrible experience. The head caddie was extremely unprofessional.

I just returned from a family trip to Punta Cana. During a week's stay I played Corales, Punta Espada and La Cana. These are three different and distinct golf experiences and I will review them all individually. I am a six handicap and mention that only to lend perspective on my impressions of the courses played. Corales is a well designed, beautifully maintained, golf course. I would call it the Phil Mikelson of the Punta Cana area, with Punta Espada being the (in his prime) Tiger Woods. That is to say Corales would easily be the nicest course "in town" if Espada were not right "next door". On it's own merits Corales offers a fantastic golf experience - it is a very playable Fazio design with wide rolling fairways, large greens complexes and a number of spectacular ocean side holes to compliment the "inland" portion of the course. Coming in however at a comparable price point (not the deciding factor but a consideration) to Espada (both around $300) Corales left me feeling that while worth the money given the choice I would, and did, play most of my golf at Espada. Corales is a great course and while I enjoyed the round there and have nothing bad to say left with no desire to return. On the other hand I played Espada four times and La Cana twice.

I'm writing this review in the hope that I spare some golfers heading to Punta Cana in the next few weeks some disappointment. Corales had some damage during hurricane season, but we were assured by our hotel concierge that 16 holes were open, and that we could play a full 18 by replaying the last two holes. We made a tee time weeks earlier based on that information and pulled up, only to be told that only 10 holes were open, scattered through the course, because they were working on the clubhouse. We wound up driving back to La Cana, where we were able to play, thankfully was not crowded even over Thanksgiving weekend. In my opinion, it was incumbent on Corales to have contacted us through our hotel and let us know the situation in advance, instead of wasting our time. And if I sound annoyed, it is because I am. That's poor service, made even worse by the fact that Corales holds itself out as an elite facility. There was no apology, just pretty much an offer to play the 10 holes, but no one cared that our morning and plans were thrown into disarray. We will play here again, I suppose. But poor behavior deserves to be written about.

We've been once to Corales Golf Course, because they said it is a must do as golfer. This is certainly right (really beautiful view) but this course is way too expensive. We paid about 265 dollars per person (+30 dollar caddy), transport from our hotel included (only 5 minutes away). Packages (for playing more than 1 day) with a proper discount even don't exist. It's not possible to play 9 holes, but no one can tell us why. In my eyes it would be better to make everything 30-40% cheaper and give the occasion to play 9 holes. At least there will be more people playing and the golf course will be rentable. At the other side, I'm not sure they want to be rentable because I had the feeling that tourists are not really welcome, except the really rich ones. It's a shame, because golf is not an elite sport anymore in most of the countries. If I come back to Punta Cana, I'm not sure at all that I would play on the Corales golf course again. I've seen the view now and the course is not really challenging enough to play again at this price!

Excellent course, challenging but fair. Considering there is a PGA tournament there in March, I thought the conditions would have been better. Having said that, beautiful course nonetheless.

Corales is in the top 3 golf courses on DR, championship course with pristine greens and fairways. Caddies very knowledgeable. Stunning views and well worth the green fee.

Corales is indeed a beautiful course but not all of the holes are equally challenging. Perhaps that true of all course but here the discrepancy seems particularly noticeable. The holes along the ocean are spectacular, difficult (challenging) and photo worthy. Some of the more interior holes are rather plain jane - just straight long holes with no visual interest. It is where the FedEx Cup was played 2 weeks after our visit and the course was being prepped for the crowds. Stands were under construction and one hole, a par 3,had the ocean front green covered so that we were shooting to a makeshift green on the fareway. From the red tees this was a 45 yard par 3. I'm assuming a hole-in-one wouldn't have counted but it was a moot point anyway. LOL. All in all the service was great, the course was in very good condition and some of the holes were beyond beautiful.
