    Awesome times at Don Lucas
We ended up taking three groups to Don Lucas Cigars. So much fun!! Booked the online tours, $20.00 per person . If you supported them and purchased product you were not charged the $20.00. Tony was awesome. He welcomed us every time and always made sure we were well taken care of. Along with the Cigar Tour there is a Larimar Jewelry Store, Rum Factory, Coffee Shop, Chocolate Factory and a nice gift shop. Also cigar lovers, if you want guaranteed real cigars not fakes Don Lucas it is. They have a very large selection of cigars. If you want to have a fun afternoon we highly recommend Don Lucas Cigar Factory!!

    Good trip
Don Lucas was a good trip. We got free transportation arranged from our hotel. They showed us how cigars are made and we had some cigar tasting. We also visited a chocolate and coffee tasting room. They have a souvenir area with loads of options, worth having a look. We were able to buy some cigars and a really lovely Caramel Rum after rum tasting. I’d recommend the rum it was sooo good! It’s called rhumba.

A wonderful place to shop with no pressure to buy anything
This is a fabulous place to shop for everyone in your family! They have nice jewelry, great coffee, wonderful cigars, fabulous chocolate, and some top notch rum!! Jose Espiritusanto was so kind and patient with us explaining all the different types of rum and allowing us a chance to sample them. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Thank you to everyone at Don Lucas for making this such a fabulous place to shop!!

Great quick trip off the resort
If you are looking for a quick, cool cultural trip check this place out. Our hotel arranged a free shuttle for us. When we arrived, the driver and employees pointed guests toward the cigar shop and gift shop first. My friend and I had other plans. We went to the rum tasting first. We made the right choice. We were greeted by the amazing bartender Jose (who insisted we call him Yo). He asked us where our cigars were. When we told him we didn't have any, he ran out, grabbed us two medium bodied cigars, cut them, rubbed them in a bit of sweet rum and helped us light them. We got to experience his hospitality two on one for about 20 minutes until a larger tour strolled in. That is when Yo put on a show. He's a great salesman and showman. My friend and I left with a bottle of rum and some great cigars. Couldn't have been happier with our experience.

Enjoy the Experience You Wont Regret It!
It was great to see cigars made from scratch and partook in a few samples. We made our way over to the cigar bar and I was able to pick up a few fine cigars to bring home, our guide was able to point me in the right direction based on what cigar types that I would like. From there we made our way to the Rum Bar do not pass this up. Jose was our Bartender and he made the tasting a fantastic experience so much so we needed to buy 6 bottles to take home. Make your appointment take your time and enjoy!

    Great time
Had a great time, so much so that me and my friend went back before we left to come back home. Was treated like royalty by Antonio and was not pressured into buying anything although we did buy alot, lol. Spent a few hours there eating chocolate, drinking rum and coffee and of course smoking wonderful cigars. Will absolutely go there again when I'm in Punta Cana

    Don Lucas Visit
We visited Don Lucas Cigars. Although I would not classify this as a factory tour, they do have two rollers making cigars and one person packaging. If you smoke cigars, they give you one to enjoy as you do the tour for free.. The presentation was nice followed by a visit to the humidor and gift store for purchasing. After this, we visited a rum bar for some limited tasting and chocolate store. If your in one of area resorts and looking for something to get out and do, this is worth it. They provide free transportation to and from your resort.

This tour is well worth your time
What a great time. This was the first time that I had ever visited a cigar production facility. I rarely smoke, but absolutely enjoyed my time learning about cigars, Pepe, our guide is obviously proud of the Don Lucas cigar brand and is a true advocate of the product and the employees. I learned a lot about cigars, from production of the plants, to the rolling of the sticks, to the aging of the finished product. I have enjoyed many tours, including breweries, wineries, and distilleries. I learned more from this tour than I ever expected. Pepe was very generous with the free samples of cigars, and made great recommendations for purchase (absolutely no pressure to purchase) based upon personal preference. The cigars are pricey, but quality costs. The chocolate shop was really nice with fine quality products. The rum shop was great fun and Michael was phenomenal, a great entertainer and an excellent representative of the company. This was a quality experience which can cost customers nothing, if that is what they choose. Lots of free samples and zero pressure to purchase. A free ride from the resort and back in a clean, comfortable van with capable drivers. The entire excursion was about three hours and was a very nice distraction from the resort.

    Worthwhile to see!
If your resort offers a trip to this place, don't miss it! Our resort offered this trip through Amstar. Picked us up and took us to this cigar place and also visited the chocolate, coffee, rum and the gift store. A must!

    Fun Tour!
Fun place. Went for cigars, got a nice little tour and ended up buying other local goods. Our tour guide at the place was amazing and made the experience enjoyable. There were lots of opportunities to buy things, but never a pushy approach like other places.

Easy to book, communication with Raphael was easy and swift. Transportation came on time and maybe we were lucky, but we did not have to wait, when we decided to go back to our resort.

Now the facility itself. I liked that everything was under "one roof". Cigars, rum, coffee, chocolate and souvenirs. Every "checkpoint" comes with tasting.

I liked the cigar tour, Ernesto was a good guide and we were provided with interesting information, saw the process and got free sample. Coffee came with a basic presentation, too. Regretably, we did not hear a word about rums and chocolate and staff at these locations was rather grumpy.

Overall, good for people that do not want to move around different places in Punta Cana or spend too much time on shopping. On the other hand, prices were quite high. I expected higher margins compared to local supermarkets, but price of the rum was shocking. E.g. Ophyum 23 was almost 30% more expensive here than in my homeland in Europe.

Good cigars but not willing to make any good deals. I was told they would. I did buy some boxes. I thought since I was going straight to the source that they would have better deal than in the states by cutting out the middle man. They are very proud of their cigars and they should be but are also proud of the price.
They sell other brands of cigars as well. I bought a box. I couldn’t get online to look them up so I bought them anyway. I paid $130 and I could of bought them online for $85. This is where I go frustrated. All I wanted to do was to find a local cigar shop and get local prices. They have a good cigar but it is a tourist trap. Trying to sell Souvenirs, Jewelry, liquor Ext.

Very disappointed. We came for a free rum tasting and ended up paying $3 per taste. This was never mentioned until we were leaving. The bar was overflowing with tourists wanting to taste rum. We waited 25 minutes for one taste of rum. We never got the history info. Shopping was the usual tourist stuff. The cigar making was interesting and the cigar are priced fair. Just a warning… ask before you taste the rum.

Fantastic tour. Andres was a great guide and took good care of us. Not a super indepth tour but if you're into cigars and staying out in Punta Cana it's a great way to bust off resort and see how the cigars get made. They will try and find a cigar for you to sample while you tour if you tell them what you like.

P.S. Cigar lovers: 90% of the Dominican cigars are produced in duty free zones so the ones you buy there have already been shipped and bought back for resale. You wont find them any cheaper in the D.R. Best to get them in the US.

But since Don Lucas doesn't ship to the US and they are made right there I'm not sure why their prices were so high. I bought a 5 pack sampler for $55 US dollars. They are great cigars but still seemed pricey to me.

Thumbs up excursions trip to get local cigars, souvenirs, rum coffee and chocolate tasting experience. Safe and friendly environment and modern facilities.
I smoke cigars on a regular basis. Be careful of the steep price markup at cigar shops in the airport and hotels. . Affordable prices for Don Lucas box of 10 cigars $80-90. Great shopping for souvenirs than the Malls and plazas.

What a great way to spend a couple of hours in Punta Cana. Not far from resorts. Picked up at hotel by their transport. If you love cigars, its a must do. Knowledgable guide will ascertain your preferred strength and light you up with a complimentary cigar (which was excellent). Watching the experts then rolling your own cigar is great fun. The whole place is quality. The humidor is large and well stocked. The guide was a walking textbook on the many cigars in stock of all makes including their own. No pressure at any time anywhere. Gift shop is best we experienced. Chocolate and Rum shops also on site. Loved every minute. Booking through our hotel staff meant didn't cost anything to go.

Was planning on going to La Romana but the long drive from Punta Cana persuaded us to visit Don Lucas instead. Could not have been more pleased! Our guide was so friendly and made our small group feel as though we were part of the process and family. In addition to cigars they had chocolate rum coffee and souvenirs. Well worth the visit. We are cigar lovers and their higher level of cigars are a great smoke. Rum is tasty too
