My now husband and I chartered the “wedding boat” (catamaran). It was our way of showing our appreciation to our wedding party for being a part of such a special occasion for us. We chose Punta Cana as our location for our destination wedding and as such, we booked a sunset dinner cruise with Punta Cana Tours because of their customer service skills and their willingness to accommodate such a large party. We chose the “seafood grill” dinner option; the food was amazing, the drinks were on point and the boat crew were outstanding! Besides our wedding, this was the greatest part of our trip and the memory will forever be etched in our hearts and mind. I will never hesitate to book with this company, whenever we are in the Punta Cana area! I usually never write reviews, regardless of how satisfied i am with services rendered, however, I had to make an exception! The service was unmatched and I cannot stress that enough!

Family trip to The Dominican Republic. First trip somewhere tropical for my 75 year old mom and my 3 kids. I booked a tour through Punta Cana Tour so everyone could see so many things. Speed boats and snorkeling both in the ocean and at a beautiful little island. Then a tour down the river with some time at the rainforest. It was a full and busy day but so worth it. My mom is a bigger lady who’s had both her knees replaced. The staff was amazing. Always there to help get her on and off the boats and get around. No judgement. No telling her it wasn’t going to work. We had so much fun. Will book again!

My wife and I took this 12 hour excursion to Samana through Caribbean Dream and let me tell you....it was one of the best excursions we have ever taken in our lives. We have taken European cruises with shore excursions and vacationed in Aruba with some awesome excursions and have seen Jamaica through some cool tours....but this was hands down the most fun excursion we have ever been on.

First of all the tour company picked us up at our hotel at 6:25 a.m., and they were right on time. Perfect. They take us to the airport where we board a small regional plane that seats only about 40 people. We fly to the Northern part of the Dominican Republic to Samana. Where we board an open air jeep vehicle. It takes us on a cool tour of the Samana area and makes a stop at a local house where we get to learn about some of the native plants and agricultural exports from the DR (coffee, tobacco, cocoa, and others). We get samples too.

Next we get back on the jeep and it takes us to this horseback riding ranch where we all get our own horse to ride with a guide. The horse back riding was so fun! Unbelievable. We ride on horseback for 30 minutes to the most gorgeous 165 foot waterfall I have ever seen. We get off of our horse and get to swim at the base of the waterfall!!!!!! Sweet jesus. This is when you realize that the earth is beautiful and the planet has tremendous natural wonders. After about 30 minutes of swimming we get back on our horses and ride back to the original starting point.

Next, we board the jeeps again and it takes us to a dock where we board a private catamaran! I mean, oh my god. This tour is awesome. The boat takes everyone to a secluded beach spot where they have a delicious lunch waiting for us. It's awesome. With a great photo op after lunch. The place looks like heaven on earth!

Next we get back on the boat and it takes us to another private beach area with the most gorgeous beaches where we get free time to just swim in the ocean and lay out in the sun for about 2 hours. Drinks at the bar included. I mean talk about relaxing! This is it.

Next, we get back on the boat and it takes us back to the open air jeeps, where we head back to the airport for the 30 minutes flight back to Punta Cana.

This excursion and this tour company is exceptional. Make no mistake, the tour operators and the tour leaders took care of us and made sure that we were having fun. It was awesome. A great combination of learning about culture and history, sight seeing, adventure seeking, relaxation and just pure awesomeness. This tour was the best and it had it all. I very highly recommend this tour. This tour stands apart from a lot of tours we have taken (we have taken guided tours through Rome, and Aruba, and Jamaica, and through the French Riviera)....this tour was the most fun we ever had. I can't say enough about it. This tour was the highlight of our vacation it was amazing.

Really bad experience going whale watching from Punta Cana to Samana Bay. The 1.5 hour bus ride was fine on the way there but it is a small, somewhat uncomfortable bus. They serve sandwiches for breakfast, banana and juice box. The bathroom breaks are half way through the drives each way and you have to run to get to the bathroom before the tour leaves the dock. They seemed irritated when my 6 year old needed an additional bathroom break. The boats chase the whales on this tour. I've spoken to a few people who've gone whale watching in other countries and it was not like this. Swells were large during whale watching. Weather is out of the control of the company but what is in their control is determining that it is unsafe to take a group of people on an overloaded open boat across the bay. The swells were huge, women were screaming and they had to stop the boat in the middle of the bay to distribute life jackets. I truly feared for my safety. Otherwise, the lunch was good but nothing to write home about. We were rained out of Cayo Levantado experience. They still took us but we spent the whole time under a shelter shivering from the cold rain. Overall, I can't recommend this company for safety reasons. If the weather is perfect, maybe it's a totally different experience but you can't trust them if the weather turns and a storm rolls across the bay.

Hi Redsy_12, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear you had a bad experience on our whale watching tour, normally we receive positive review. The safety of our clients is extremely important to us and we lament you did not feel that way. We have carefully read your review and we really appreciate you bringing these issues and your concerns to our attention. Please note that we do not offer breakfast on this tour, we offer refreshments instead. About the weather conditions, if is not safe to go out with the tour the coast guards will issue an alert and an order to cancel all water tours, we would not do the tour if the weather conditions are not properly. We would like to ask for another opportunity if you come to the DR again, please contact us and I will personally assist you. Regards,

You start the trip by being offered a bigger buggy for $60. ( ripoff) the normal buggys arent much different , old and rusty. Or you are offered a more private tour ; to the same places ) for $80. Ripoff. You drive in line at 20mph for 20 minutes to a small stall where they try and sell you souvenirs. Then 20 mins to a small cave with water where u can queue for 20 mins to jump in ,and all the vendors try and get you into there shops ( selling the exact same tatty souvenirs) all bought and shipped from china probably . Then a 20 minute drive down the same road in single file at 10mph . Call to an average beach for 15 minutes then back. Ive done many tourist attractions all over europe and its just dissapointing the quality over here and substance to any of the trips, not only that, if you want a photograph that youve been asked to pose for several times, its going to hit you back $35. Honestly im fed up with people trying to rip you off in punta cana excursions. Do i think this was worth the $130. No, i dont ,At least we got to give the children some money who were approaching the cars every 10 minutes.

Thank you for your review and we're sorry you did not enjoy the buggy excursion as much as most clients do. The private tour is only offered if you have a group and would like your own guide. We find that most individuals enjoy seeing local products at the country house stop that are made locally as well as enjoying the beach and cave stops. On our site we are specific that there are vendors but a kind no will do the trick. These are public country roads used so we cannot control some locals who wish to make a living. Thanks again for your review.

Awesome time. The zip line and horse back riding were excellent. Only complain we have is during the lunch part of the tour. The tour guide were seated and eating already even if the customers are still in line to get food. The restaurant ran out of some of the dishes because the guides took and ate them all.

This zip line is not for the faint at heart or for someone with any physical limitations. An other review describes crawling through a cave, scaling the side of a cliff, and I would like to add without being clipped into a safety rope of any kind in places where it should have been required. The guides on our trip weren’t paying very close attention and weren’t ready for me when I came into the platform too quickly. My hand slipped off the line (brake) and per instructions, I didn’t attempt to re-grip. Our guide failed to assist with braking so I slammed head first into the pole. My ear was split open and I still have a black eye but I remained conscious. Remember- safety regulations and ask yourself if they have them and if the risk is worth it.

Thank you for your review. We do explain the risks and the physical nature of the tour. In any case, we are aware of the incident and it has been corrected. We have thousands of visitors zip line a year and although small accidents are extremely rare they are impossible to eradicate completely. Thank you for choosing us.

Ignore what the holiday reps say in the hotels this is the best tour going. You get collected from your hotel jump straight in the jeep and your tour begins. You are in the drivers seat and get to experience life of the tourist track. You visit a beautiful family home, go on a zip line, enjoy horse back riding, and go to a cigar factory where you roll your own cigar. Ana and the team are amazing looking after you the whole way. Even taking you to the most picture perfect beach for lunch. It's a must do

This was a excellent adventure. It was very well organized. Once we arrived we went to the reception desk, showed the voucher and were given wrist bands that listed which adventures we were going on. Then you gathered at your first trip and once everyone was gathered you set off. First, I went zip lining. We were taken to the base of the zip line where the great guys got you into your harness and all other gear, then we were given a safety demo and off we went. Overall this was a very exciting and fun adventure. There were 8 ziplines in total, some short and some long. This is a very physical adventure, requiring climbing up the mountain, walking on suspended stairs and climbing a rock wall using metal pegs that are anchored in the wall. Wear running shoes. The staff was very friendly and professional and there were numerous staff all along the course. You are not able to carry anything on this tour, you must leave your belongings in provided lockers, that are at reception. I would suggest you bring a lock otherwise you need to buy one for 5.00, which is non-refundable. After finishing we returned to the reception area and we had time for lunch before our next tour. The lunch was excellent and included salad, pasta, hamburgers, hot dogs and fries. It also included water or pop. Alcoholic beverages were available for a fee.
The next tour started at about 12:30pm. Again, well organized. Once everyone was there we set off for the Hoyo Azul Blue Hole. This too was a physical walk 1.5km through the woods with numerous stairs. But once there it was beautiful. This is a cenote with the bluest water and nice and cold, which is refreshing after the trek through the humid forest. There were a lot of people there but it was easy enough to get in and swim around. We spent about an hour there which was more than enough time.
Depending on how many adventures you take, the buses back to the hotel leave at regular scheduled times. 11:40am, 2:40pm and 5:40pm. They announce the hotel and the bus number and off you go.
They do take pictures while on each tour but the pictures and very pricey. For two adventures it was 60.00-70.00US

Easy to book, confirm, and all of our tours went over and beyond our expectations. Best part of our trip to the Dominican Republic were the fantastic excursions to Samana, Hoyo Azul, Zip-Lining and the Marinarium. We got sick the day we had an excursion and called at 5am to reschedule. No problema! We easily rescheduled to the following day.

Tips
Buy a water proof case for your phone or camera for these excursions. I have a Samsung S5 and used a Dandy Case. The photos came out great, no water damage, and I had a lot of fun taking videos underwater.

Samana - bring everyone on the list, extra water, extra cash for this trip. You'll need about $10 for the horse guides, money for drinks on Bacardi Island, and tips for the guides. Bring a flower for the monkey at El Limon waterfalls. You'll have to pay to take a photo with the monkey but he'll appreciate the flower. We brought our snorkeling gear with us for this trip, but you can rent it from local peddlers along the beach.

Zip-lining - Zip-lining and Hoyo Azul are through Scape Park. Staff were all fantastic, great personalities and entertaining. Wear longer shorts when zip-lining and bring a camera with you. The views are fantastic. You can buy photos done by the paparazzi but they were too expensive for us ($50 for a family of 4). All of the zip-lining crew members were really great. We preferred to do the zip-lining first before the afternoon sun came in. Wear comfortable walking shoes as the trails are rocky, bring water if you have a pocket to put it in. They will offer water at 2 points on the trail, but it was hot and we we're all very thirsty. There's a small snack shop so bring extra cash with you as you'll likely want to pick up a gatorade and extra food after zip-lining.

Hoyo Azul - the water is chilly but refreshing after a morning of zip-lining. If you go to Hoyo Azul in the morning try to get the first tour. The water is the clearest here on the first trip because everything has settled. We were the second trip of the day at about 1pm and it was still stunning.

Marinarium - so much fun! We brought our own snorkeling gear but they offer it complimentary. I don't think they offer flippers but they aren't absolutely necessary. Skip the line for the photo opp with holding the sting-ray and use that time to swim with sharks and touch the swimming sting-rays.
