When we picked out Dominican republic as our vacation destination I did everything I could to get us a tour to Chateau de la Fuente near Santoago. It turned out it would've been a heck of a drive from Punta Cana and we were advised notbto even dream about just renting a car and driving there on our own. Then... More

Had a private tour trough factory, we have seen a complex process. I am a cigar smoker and this was just great for me. Even if you are not to much familiar with cigars, you can still visit this place, you will see what can not be seen anywhere else. Great!

We were staying in Punta Cana and the taxi ride to the factory was well worth the cost. Great time to view the countryside and villages from Punta Cana to La Romana. Amazing to see the factory in operation. My husband is a cigar enthusiast and seeing the factory in person gave a new respect to hand rolled cigars. Everything... More

I attended the 1 hour tour. You will be amazed of how much effort is required for the manufacture of fine cigars.

A great tour. The guide takes you onto the factory floor, elbow to elbow with the cigar makers. The tour takes you from recieving to shipping and everything in between. You'll see grading, sorting, mixing, and testing. You can touch, feel, and smell the leaves. We saw them fill and roll the cigars, the banding process, and packaging. We watched... More

Visited the factory in August 2011 and this was the best $10 we spent during the whole holiday. Had a tour guide to ourselves (2 of us) and saw every aspect of the factory work, learnt loads about cigars being made and saw some real Dominican life. If you are in La Romana this is a MUST SEE. We hired... More

Nothing to do at La Romana. I spent one week working as a consultant for the road construction when a friend told me to do the tour at TABACALERA GARCIA. I did it last saturday (july 30th) and was a very good surprise to me. 100% recomended. If you like historical facts (and cigars) do it. Recommended even for those... More

The trip to La Romana was 2 hours from our resort in Punta Cana. It was $150 round trip by cab, through some fascinating country side, and the taxi driver waited until we finished the tour. The drive was not for the faint of heart. The tour was unbelievable, it was definately worth seeing if you are a lover of... More
