Outstanding communication, reliability, and service! We were a group of 8 people; 2 moms with 6 kids ages 10-16. From first email to final What's App message, communication was efficient with speedy replies. I was nervous travelling solo with the kids for the first time. We booked Rene based on reviews and he did not disappoint. I knew we picked the right company when we exited the airport and Rene was front and center sign in hand. Cold refreshments were much appreciated after a long flight. We needed a vehicle that could seat 8 people and Rene's 14 passenger van was modern, comfortable, and sparkling clean. We pre-paid the airport shuttle through his website. As soon as we met Rene, we decided to book our Puerto Plata City tour with him. This was an amazing day! Rene and Francisco (awesome tour guide) planned a great day for our group. They kept us busy and entertained, no easy feat with 6 kids! They know all the ins and outs for making the most of each tourist stop and very accommodating to our groups needs. For example, we were staying in a condo and they offered to stop at the grocery store on our way home. I highly recommend Rene and his company RVtours. We will definitely use him again next time we are in Puerto Plata.

My husband and I were in Puerto Plata celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, and based on trip advisor reviews, we decided to book a private city tour with R.V Private Tours. From the beginning, communication with Rene was great, he is extremely quick to reply to emails. We had originally booked our tour for the morning of March 3rd, however the week prior to our trip, heavy rains were forecast for that day, along with the 2 days prior. I emailed Rene to see if there was any possibility of changing the date. I gave him the other 2 dates that we had that would work, and he was available on March 6th, so the tour was very easily changed with no fees. We were picked up promptly at 8:00am by Rene and our guide Ingrid. We set off for our first stop, the Teleferico cable car. This was certainly a highlight for us! Rene waited with the vehicle while Ingrid joined us for the ride. She guided us, and gave us some great info at the top. She took our photo whenever we wanted, and guided us to a younger guy at the top that took unique photos of us (with our phones) with the Christ statue. Once we were finished there, we headed directly to the Macorix House of Rum for our tour. We were with a guide from that facility for the tour, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We purchased items from the shop. I didn't visit grocery stores, so I can't compare those prices, but the prices we paid at the facility were far less than at duty free at the airport. From, there, we headed to the downtown area. We started with the Rainbow Gift shop for some info about larimar and amber. The info was interesting, and we certainly had intent to purchase more than we did, but the person who presented the information about the stones (not associated with R.V tours) followed us extremely closely everytime we moved from table to table. We couldn't look without him standing a foot away from us which made us uncomfortable. We made a small purchase and advised Ingrid that we were ready. We went a across to a cigar shop. I can't remember the name. We watched a short demonstration and were able to make a purchase. From here Ingrid walked with us to a few areas I had been looking forward to. The street with the umbrellas hanging overtop, the angel wings you can have your photo with and the pink street! All three were wonderful, and again, Ingrid took whatever photos we wanted. From here we walked to the Parque Central and the St Philip the Apostle Cathedral. We had a short visit here, before Rene met us again with the van to take us to the fort. We arrived at the San Felipe Fort, there were many school kids there. We were set up with English headsets and set off. Honestly, this was likely our least favorite stop, but only because of the number of people (I know that Rene has no control over this). We were able to get some great info, but it was really hard to be in the fort with the students as it is a smaller place. From here, we went to Del Oro chocolate factory. We were welcomed with hot chocolate and brownies and then watched a short video on the process, and were led through the process by an employee. We got to taste a few more things, and then we were set loose in the shop. The chocolate is very good, as is the hot chocolate, so we bought some of each. This is where Ingrid left us, as this is where the tour technically ended. In my initial request to Rene I had asked if we could stop at a typical restaurant for lunch, so that is where we headed next. I don't know the name of it, but Rene mentioned it is a place that is frequented by both locals and tourists. It was clean, and the food was delicious! There seemed to be more locals than tourists at the particular time that we were there, but that was fine. Rene ordered a wide array of things for us to try - beef, fried chicken, plantains, red beans, rice, salad and veggies. My husband had a beer, and i had a coke, and it was only about $25! The food was WONDERUL! We paid the bill and then Rene drove us the short drive back to the hotel. We were back by about 2pm. We had talked to several people who didn't understand why didn't just hire a taxi to drive us around. Yes, we paid a higher price for our tour (very reasonable for what we did and what was included), but we had a driver AND a guide, both who spoke wonderful English. All of our admissions were included, and we didn't have to wait in line anywhere. Wonderful tour, and recommend this company to anyone travelling to Puerto Plata.

Amazing company, we used them for our private airport transfer service. Rene is so nice, friendly and professional. We were supposed to use him for a city tour, but couldn't make it in the end. He was so gracious during all of our correspondence. Will definitely use his company again.

Im in the DR with Family to celebrate my 50th Birthday, and my gift to Myself was this excursion to this beautiful tiny island with 6 huts on a stretch of sand. The tour company, from inception, my serve was Top of the line! My driver Miguel unbeknownst to him, had been my same driver on other trips. He is such a skilled and careful driver. So believe you will get to your destination safely! My tour guide Francisco was excellent! Informative, funny and patient. The guys at Cauo Arena tending to all visitors and ALL staff, were just incredible in service!! If youre looking to fulfill a dream, like i did, dont hesitate to use this company. Gravias por su muy buen servício. Bendiciones y éxito siempre.

We have used Rene two years in a row. He is an intelligent, knowledgable man who is dependable. His English is excellent. With the crazy traffic in the DR, it was great to have Rene driving. He answered all of our questions and was always willing to do whatever we came up with.
