We went there while on a cruise stop and found it to be a great park. The shows are excellent and the park is beautifully kept. If you find yourself in Puertpm Plata for a day, you can’t go wrong here.
When you look at the advertisement it sounds like great place to visit but is not really for how much you pay.
Show are only for 10 minutes the most.
Buffet Lunch is bad burger. hot dog or 2 small piece of chicken, also you...More
We (Husband, daughter and I) experienced as part of a shore excursion through Carnival. Short 15 minute bus ride from Amber Cove port to Ocean World. Dolphin Encounter very organized and all participants do get direct interaction. Photographers take multiple photos from the very close...More
My friend and I, two ladies of 70 years, had day passes to Ocean World and swam with the dolphins. We enjoyed everything we did, found the staff hospitable and helpful, and the animals delightful. We both wanted to particularly recognize the skill of Pedro and...More
We went and although it was small it was fun and educational. The food there was amazing but you pay extra for it. 20 bucks for a framed pic with one of the dolphins( who was quite friendly and even pretended to "sneeze").
My boyfriend and did an excursion from our cruise ship here. We booked the VIP dolphin swim and ocean world day pass. Expecting just to be in the water with the dolphins for a little bit and then walking around the park, we were blown...More
We did this as a family of four. Myself and daughter (18 Years old) participated in the sea lion encounter. Very informative and neat to be that close to a 2000 pound creature. He swam up-to our legs, lied on our lap. We got to...More

Taxi, Laundry and cab fares Is there a taxi stand close to Hacienda Beach resort and Spa? Is there a laundry place close to Hacienda? What will be taxi fares to the following places from Hacienda? cable car ,Open market, Haitian Village, Ocean World Adventure Park and Sosua . What is Bravissimo Show? I heard you can hire local taxi for a day for $25. Is that true? Appreciate feed back.

I don't know about laundry service but cabs are more expensive then you are thinking. To Puerto plata (cable car, hatian village, open market etc) all will be about $15-20 each way. To sosua about $35. To hire the cab for the day will depend somewhat on where you are going, but plan on $100-150 a day. For some of your local trips you might consider a gua-gua (local van) or publico (public taxi wiht up to 7 passangers) at about $1 a trip. BObK

Hi As far as I am aware all the dolphin swims in PC are captive swims. Even if they are in the larger pools they are still in captivity and not free When we were in PC recently we were lucky enough to see manta rays swim past our villa at Sanctuary Cap Cana on a couple of occasions and it was just amazing to see them in their natural habitat
Is there anything to do in PC without a tour & paying $65+? (5 Replies)
Note: Not enough space in the Subject but I meant other than beaches and malls. Hello, So I have been researching things to do and see all over DR and it seems there are some interesting places to visit in PC. However, I feel so disappointed that none of those places can be visited by independent travelers without a tour. We will have a rental car and we are a family of four. Paying ridiculous amount of like $65 / pp is totally not what we want to do. Why PC is so commercialized? Even in...More
