We did this as part of a city tour excursion. It was a quick tour (only about 45 minutes). There isn't much to the plant floor itself, but learning about the history and how they make their different kinds of rum was interesting. Obviously, the free rum samples were the best part. Went in sober, left kinda tipsy. Your last... More

Very interesting place, we were given a tour of the factory and its bottling process. We also got to taste the rum that was made there in the factory. One of the most interesting facts was they used Barrels made from America White Oak to age the rum in the bars, which they purchase in the United States.

This was a fun, short tour. The tour was 3 US dollars a person. The tour guide walks you through the history of Brugal and you get to see the factory floor where some of the work is done. You also get to taste at least two of their types of rum. When the tour is over you are back... More

I was here on 6-2-16 around 10:00am. We got a lot of information about how the rum is made, how it is stored, saw where it is packaged and the history of the different generations of the family behind the rum. At the end we got a tasting and had a chance to purchase some. Enjoyed seeing the plant and... More

We visited in late may, as a stop on the "Top 10 Puerto Plata Tour" Nice Family history, well narrated. The tasting room had more information on rum making and a sampling or two. Catwalk tour of the Rum Factory and it's processing procedures. Very nice stop along the tour. This tour has steps (about two floors) leading to the... More

This rum is our favourite, gutted we couldn't buy more as we're struggling to find somewhere to buy it back in the UK. The guide was really informative and spoke good English, it was really interesting. Do this during the week as you can see the factory in action

A guided tour with an English-speaking guide. Gives you an insight into the rum manufacturing process at the island's top producer.
