We recently (October 2021) booked a 2 tank dive with Roland from SeaPro Divers and Water Sports while staying at our resort in Punta Cana.
Everything was great! The price was lower than other local dive shops. Roland and the crew on the boat were professional, friendly, helpful, and honest. They gave us exactly what we wanted. We had two nice dives with qualified staff, quality equipment, and a well prepared dive boat. We left straight from our resort by small boat to their facility. Everyone was supplied anything they needed then the dive boat picked us up on the beach.
The tanks were on the boat and filled to 3000+ psi which gave us more bottom time. It was not a party boat, it was just scuba diving without any of the other hoopla. Exactly what we wanted.
The following day Roland found me to make sure everything went well.

In June 2023, we took the open air transport truck from Lifestyles Resort to the Dive Shop near Sosua. It takes about an hour (there was a detour for a bridge that is out). We did two dives the first day. Two of our group were beginners and rented all of their gear. The gear is of fair quality. Those two were struggling a bit and the dive guide took special care of them. We stayed shallow because they were new to the sport.
On the second day there were two experienced divers and we went deeper and the quality of the diving was much better. We say turtle, rays, lionfish, blowfish, needle fish, moray eel and various reef fish.
It isn't one of the top spots to dive in the world, but it was worth the time and cost. If back in the DR I would go again.

I am an experienced Diver so for me the dive location wasn't an issues, they tell you up front that the dive location is about an hour from the Life Styles Resort. The Dive Master Chi Chi was really nice and took us on a some what shallow dive 55ft max depth for the 4 dives I did. First dive was just me and Chi Chi although we dropped off some snorkelers on the way. Visibility was great about 60ft. It is a very basic setup and operation, if you're looking for high end dive boat shop and amenities, this is not the shop for you. If you are looking for bare bones, get in the water and dive, then this is a good spot. On my second day of diving I had a coupe that just finished their resort pool dive and were on their first open water, and Chi Chi made them feel safe and comfortable. I didn't mind the travel time as they explained that's where the safest diving is, and they said I could request a deeper dive next time. I will be back!

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Puerta Plata and planned two dives a day for 12 days. The administration office was thrilled and happily booked us for the dives with a "fantastic" discount. Unfortunately, the admin office did not tell us that the Airport 1, 2 & 3, Ray Point, and Larimar dives weren't open and haven't been in years. Previous divers said the sites we dove were the only ones they do (Tunnel, Mini Wall, Canyon 1&2, Puntilla, Coral Garden, 3 Rocks. The office failed to tell us holiday closures. We realized that the dive sites would repeat for 10 days so tried to work out alternatives. We ended up giving them 4 dives for free. The "fantastic" deals: Every diver I talked to got the same discount as we did ($30 a dive). The sales person at the resort is fantastic but limited power. The last day we were there, he said Sea Pro would give us a day's discount because they were closed on 1 Jan. That was a week ago and I have not heard from them.

The dive crew are wonderful. Sasha is a gem, Daniel is a great dive master, Coco a boat captain is a loving gentle soul, Napolean, Marlin, and Sanche all made the dives worth it. They were very busy and the waves were big on shore which made for a fun embarkation and debarkation. The weather made the dives pretty murky but we got to see quite a bit; stingrays, seahorse, morays, turtles, huge trumpet fish, and typical Caribbean fish. The coral was abundant. If it wasn't for the dive crew, the rating would be lower.

Dear Denise, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are a bit confused about this review as we have been in contact back and forth throughout your stay, in fact we received a thank you email with positive feedback about your experience and none of these issues were mentioned. It seems like there is some confusion about the dive sites, we do visit the airport wall dives when the conditions are suitable. As an experienced diver, you understand that diving is a sport that is very dependent on the weather, particularly ocean conditions which can be unpredictable from day to day. Unfortunately during your stay the ocean conditions were not favorable to visit these dive sites. Our team did communicate that we were unable to visit those sites. It is a bit sad that we are getting penalized for a negative review for something we are unable to control such as the weather. Our business did close on January 1st, to allow our team to spend quality time with their family for New Years Day (It is one of the few days in the year that we are not open). Once in Puerto Plata, our team did inform you and refunded the dives booked for that day. Once again we thank you for sharing your feedback and we would love to see you again when conditions that way you can explore the wonderful dive sites that you had to miss this time.

My husband and son went deep sea fishing with this company. It was terrible! They went out into the ocean in some dumpy boat for 4 hours-guides could not find the “markers”. 6 lines put out by the guides and no one on board could touch them. No fish caught. The guides stayed upstairs and did not even communicate with the customers. They even ripped another guy off an additional $100 US because he did not show his receipt!
Back at the resort we informed the guy Marco how terrible it was. He was very apologetic but no refund or alternate tour was offered. My son was devastated-he always wanted to try deep sea fishing and we paid a lot of money.
Should be ashamed of themselves. Tried to support these small companies but never again. Criminals!
Would have given a zero if possible

This was the absolute worst diving I have ever encountered. It was unsafe in my opinion, and unorganized.
The day started out raining but were told the weather would clear. When leaving the actual center to dive we quickly encountered 6-8 swells. The captain would gun the throttle to go over the swell and pull it back quickly after cresting the swell so that the bow of the boat didn't get buried in the middle of the next wave. This caused 2 divers to become sick and unable to dive.
The dives were unorganized. Visibility was not great maybe 15 feet, current was very strong. The second dive the current was extremely strong with some divers requiring assistance to make it to a rope system that could be used to keep divers from drifting off and conserve energy. when returning to the surface we found torrential down pour.
When returning to the the transportation there was a lot of discussion about how terrible the conditions were and disorganized the dive masters were. It seemed the company was more interested in the close to $1,700 in fee then the conditions and experiences the divers would have.

We took a privet boat ride for snorkeling and to the natural water pool! We loved 🥰 it .. the crew was super sweet!
The price of the trip was pricey for the fact we don’t drink alcohol. But I we had a good time and would do it again!

Juli and the dive/snorkel team were the best! So kind, patient, attentive and caring - especially when I got sea sick and needed to return to shore. Juli was very attentive to my 14 and 12 year kids while in the water, and did an amazing job showing us reef and fish! I highly recommend for a true Dominican experience and a great experience!

Phenomenal experience snorkeling. The fish were amazing to see, the waters were clean and we spent 2hrs seeing the coral/kelp garden/schools of fish. Our guide ?Juli? was experienced and it was nice to see him as excited to be in the water as we were. This was also significantly cheaper than other options booked through our hotel, approx. $45 USD each for a 1hr each way round trip from our hotel and the 2hr snorkeling excursion. Amazing deal, would have easily paid twice as much for the same experience and if not for limited time, would have booked another excursion the day after. Best part of my trip hands down. Give this service a try!

I went SCUBA diving in Sosua. I had a great time. The dive master Manuel led us through some short corral tunnels and down a corral wall. He seemed to be very experienced. He kept an eye on the group, monitoring everyone's gas level, and making sure that everyone stopped for a 3-minuet safety stop. The only thing that is not really a concern, just surprising is the location in Sosua. it is a shack with a dirt floor and no electricity. Very primitive. After you get past that, it was a good time. we even booked a second day because we had such a good time on the first day.
