This casino does not even deserve a rating of 1, it's a pile of bull crap. We got lured in with two free promotional chips to play this STUPID SCAM game. We later find that it's a SCAM because SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE (Especially couples) had SIMILAR experiences where they were scammed between 5$ grand to 17 grand. This is NOT about losing a game because we all know the casino games work at random and with luck, but THIS PARTICULAR GAME, is rigged and we've confirmed with other couples and read many reviews after we got scammed.
My husband and I are not gamblers, and we went to watch the show for that night. It was our first night there and we were excited. We got drinks at the bar and the Casino is right beside the bar, so we stepped in and this lady standing at the door, greeted us and gave us free 10$ chip each and brought us to this game that was lead by the only American who speaks perfect English (the casino workers were dominican). He didn't get to explain the game properly but explained as the game progressed. The game has various names such as Super 8 ball, super keno, and progressive roulette. So my husband and I each placed our chip and we scored a total of 82 points. The guy running the game seemed surprised and told us that if we hit 100 points, we hit the jackpot. However, as the game progresses..the bets double, so now you're betting from 10$ to 20 to 40 to 80 etc, but the jackpot also doubles. The first 90 points were easy to get and then my husband ran out of cash, where the man suggested we use our credit card, that he would keep a tab that my husband had to initial and he could continue the game. He also said he would put the game on hold, but my husband thought, hey we're 10 points away. Next thing you know, we were at 97 in no time to hit a 50 000usd jackpot, and then it was harder to get "the points", we would somehow get numbers we already got or "double up" where the bet and jackpot doubles. Then my husband a scored number that only gave 2 points, which left us 1 point away..so he kept playing nd he got "double up" and we stopped the game. Something wasn't right because we scored 90 points so easily and now all of a sudden we're betting more money and it was becoming harder and harder to get the last 3 points..we were getting 30s and 40s..and now we were struggling to land the 3 points, but somehow landed 2 points . We stopped the game and the guy takes us to pay and it totals an amount we did not expect, my husband's credit card wouldnt exceed daily limit so they made us call the credit card company right then and there. Then, this "finance" guy came, to tell us that my husband has two options, they'll put the game on hold and he can try to get that 1 point OR he'll pick up my husband in the morning and they'll go pull out the remaining amount. Something didn't feel right, we opted for option 2. He wrote a hand-written IOU note, made my husband sign and photocopied his ID and credit card. Next morning, picked up took him to the bank, made him pull out AND ALSO, took him to a super market where they made him swipe his amex. Thank god, there was a daily limit on his debit that the guy said he'll come back tomorrow to get him again and pull out the rest, mind you he made him call the bank to increase the daily limit but they refused. Later that day, we spoke to our sunwing representative who advised us that they can't make us pay money we don't have. So we only pay the cash we have, and we don't go out of our way to pull out money and swipe cards. We informed her that we felt threatened and how he knew our room number and everything and she suggested she switches our resort...so from RIU BACHATA, we went to RIU MERENGUE on day 2. Next morning (day 3), we get a call to our room AND IT'S THE GUY FROM THE CASINO. He found us, and it scared us even more. He said we didn't have to give the money and to just sign that we paid...my husband met him in the lobby and he gave him back the photocopied IDs. Now on top of everything that happened, it was scary that he found us and that the workers can easily get bought out to reveal customer information at the RIU. We spoke to the receptionist and they said the resort has nothing to do with the casino. We googled this casino and discovered that we were involved in a SCAM. That super keno game is a SCAM. We read so many other reviews where people lost A LOT of money and never get the last few points to hit the jackpot. We were so bummed out, our whole trip was ruined, and we just got turned off by the whole thing...especially when others would try to scam us out of the money...local vendors, tourist guides, etc. We wanted to come back as soon as possible and glad we did. I would never go back to this place and I would highly discourage, advise and alert anyone who wish to do so.. Casinos are an okay place in Canada with a limit, but its such a shame that a Casino in dominican would exploit tourists like that for money. It was the most stressful vacation ever. Never going back.

From the outset, understand that this business is merely a tenant of the resort (which was GREAT!).
As a seasoned casino customer, I understand that the odds favor the House, and never get upset over losses. Why? Because "real" casinos add entertainment with spirited staff, luxurious surroundings and a general aura of well .... fun!
Sadly, these staples were glaringly non-existent in this pit. The cashier was hard-pressed to only "hiss" at us, and the dealer was the most cantankerous sow that I have met on my three continents visited. She was upset if you won a hand, smirked when the house won, never gave you time to play your hand (split, double-down, etc.), would remove the cards before you had a chance to check her math, then refused to go to the camera for a recount. This expletive flipped the cards with such venom, that at one point one flew out of her and landed on the floor behind her. She refused to take the card out play, drew to 21 and smirked. We left immediately!
If management is reading this board, I suggest that you rid yourself of the cashier and wombat dealer (evening of Dec 21, 2013). I can assure your that their personalities are irreparable, and that a rabies vaccination may be too late.
In fairness, this horrible experience was not powerful enough ruin our vacation. Loved the resort.

We spent a week at the Riu Bachata resort Feb 3 -10. The resort itself and all their staff were absolutely amazing. However when I complained to the resort management, I was told that they have absolutely no connection with the Casino; the casino is a totally separate entity from the resort.
I went to the casion on three occasions during the week. I played blackjack and the dealers were rude, they hardly acknowledged your presence, they constantly chat with other employees while dealing; dealers are so fast, they hardly allow you to make a call on your hand. The same cold , rude behaviour by employees was also present at other tables (Roulette, poker tables etc.).
I have been to casinos multiple times in Vegas and Atlantic City and the experiences have always been very positive,
The Dream Casino however was a terrible disappointment and I would encourage everyone to keep away from this hole !!

SCAM
Beware. There is a "roulette table" in the casino that is attached to the Rui bachata. It's an illegal table and scamming people who play it. I will be contacting the Rui about this shortly. Ruined the entire trip for me and our 29 guests...would never return to the Rui bachata as a result. I expected class and I found an illegal gambling table.

Do not go here. They will scam you and take your money. They showed us a unique roulette type game and gave us chips to try it out. You throw marbles onto a spinning table with numbers and the casino person adds up the numbers. He counts so fast and they takes the marbles up faster than you can count yourself to confirm. Everytime you are about to leave the table, you suddenly get a good number to try to draw you back in, but no one we talked to every won any money at this casino and most lost hundreds. Also was very difficult to get a drink although they advertised free drinks. Terrible experience and a scam.

I gamble frequently back at Niagara Falls and can tell you the dealers here stacked the cards. Here's how. When she opened all the cards on the table watch her randomly pick cards and put them in the card holder. She does it fast so you don't suspect anything. When she pulls the cards out, in a normal casino she should spread the cards out on the table to shuffle them. The dealer here only pulls the cards that she stacked and shuffles the cards in halves leaving the top stacked untouched. She then deals and always gets what she stacked. Do not play at that table. The dealer is really good if you don't play much you would never catch it. Give the money to the bar staff or waiters but not to the Dream Casino!

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are sorry that you had an unsatisfactory experience at our casino. We urge all of our players to contact the floor managers to handle any and all situations that may arise to make their visit more enjoyable. Our dealers are professionals that adhere to a strong work ethic and above all to the laws and regulations established by the government to make sure that all transactions made in casinos are legitimate. Most of our tables have card-shuffling machines and we only have a few hand-shuffled tables at a time, for the more nostalgic players who still prefer them, All players are encouraged to sit at whatever table they feel most comfortable.

Thank god that my friends were with me and they prevented me from losing more money on that scam game that the hostess leads you to with a $10 free chip!.
It looks so easy !
Talk about the house advantage. Its the biggest scam in town. Stay away from this place. I ruined an otherwise wonderful holiday!
Just Walked right out!
Wish I had read the reviews before I stepped in to this place!

Three tables and about 10 slot machines that actually work. There are very few times that you see more than 3 or 4 people in there at once.

Had a terrible experience at this casino. Was asked at the door to play a game I had never heard of before and was even given 20 dollars worth of chips to start. Game was clearly rigged and makes me wonder about the rest of the casino. Be very careful here.

Two of us have a similar experienced of this scam and have been left traumatised about the whole ordeal. How many others have suffered this? I have lost a considerable sum of money
Written June 20, 2015
There must be several others. What I have heard is that the illegal game rents space from the casino and then they play with tourists. I was threatened with immigration picking me up at the airport if I didn't pay. I laughed. I'm a lawyer and when they offered to "make a deal", and let me pay half of the "bill" I wracked up, I knew it was a scam.
It's seems that you win for a certain period of time, then lose and you lose big. They feed you alcohol and have to sign your signature to bed again if you don't have the money on the spot to play the game. I was at a RIU and I'm am surprised that this happens. But the country is full of problems like fraud and drugs and theft and so on, and it is everywhere. Yourself from the UK and myself from canada, we are victims because we are generally honest. But in places like Dominican, they prey on our honesty, and really it's our fault for falling for their scams. When in a very poor country, think twice about the authenticity of what you're getting into. Never believe what you see and hear --- and if it's about getting your money, think twice...
