When we arrived at the top from the Cable Car, we were greeted by a few men who offered to be our photographer. I was blown away with the amazing photos they took - and even taught me that my phone could take panoramic shots! We got a tour of the top with the house, and cave. It was a... More

The cable cars look fun but driving up is easy, faster and just as nice when you get there. You can go your self or grab a local guide usually hanging around outside.

Great views of Puerto Plata but tons of volunteer tour guides that will show you everything for a fee/tip. I really wanted to go here just to experience the cable car ride and and see the Jesus Christ statue. Our tour guide dropped us off and picked us up 1.5hrs later which was way more time that I wanted to... More

Beware of the hussle.....Everyone here wants to sell you something or wants a tip. It is a very nice park. Go in a large crowd not a small cab.

A small cabin with up to 20 people will lift you on the mount. If you lucky and there are not clouds or fog, you will be able to see bay and city from that point. The statue is not impressed.

The cable car ride was nice and a beautiful view from the top. Not really enough to see to make it worth going again but I would say it's a must see at least once.

An unexpected 'find', this copy of the statue in Rio. Interesting to look at and very photogenic. I didn't however succumb to standing with my hand out as if holding the statue, like so many other tourists.

We took the cable car in Puerto Plata to this while visiting Amber Cove via Carnival Magic. I've never been to Rio so I've not seen the larger statue but this one is pretty cool. There are guys up there that will take pictures on your phone for you, make sure to tip them. There are little shops in the... More
