It was interesting to see how Amber came to be and all of its veryations. The space was small to maneuver through.

Even if it's just to check out quickly, go and see it. Very informative and interesting! It is located right downtown, so doing this through a tour guide would help (Isaira Tours is a great company to do this through)

It's a fun museum where you are able to learn about the history of Amber in the Dominican Republic. The tour guides are very friendly!

It’s free and the curator was very informative, also had beautiful pieces in their collection. The prices in the gift shop were a touch high but they were open to bartering

We went there as part of our bus tour of the city and ended up buying a ring which looks nice enough for my wife. I don't mind stimulating the economy in places we visit, and it was a decent experience but nothing I'd recommend.

Very informative. Great examples on display. Fascinating what has been captured in the amber and how it is formed. So pretty!

They have a lot of amazing pieces of amber in the museum. Very interesting to see but lacks excitement. Could have better lighting perhaps some music?

It is in Old Puerto Plata near the Cathedral. It is a fair distance from Playa Dorado. Can't say for sure how far but you cannot walk. Sorry I do not know more. We had a car and drove in from Sosua.
