Small but intersting

This is a very simple little museum. It is worth visiting if you happen to be passing through. It only takes 10 minutes to have a good look around and is not expensive.

Came across this by chance but it is worth a look if your in the vicinity. Like everywhere else thought, you will get the hard sell here.

The tour group I was with was large, loud, and rude -- no fault of the Amber Museum, but the experience was RUINED by the other guests. I would love to go back without a busload of jerks - it needs about 40min to view and enjoy the Amber properly. The gift shop is VERY reasonably priced, for museum quality... More

We took this tour from Cofresi Resort. I agree with some reviewers that there was virtually no scientific information to aid opportunity for learning. It was great to see the different types of amber. Staff there very friendly. Offered us mamajuana there and showed us how to prepare the drink. I enjoyed the tour.

We did not get a tour and I am not sure what could have been said; virtually no scientific information and hence no real opportunity to learn something beyond what Amber actually is People there are friendly though and yes the purpose of the museum is to draw you in the shop; I learned much from chatting to the person... The process is interesting regarding the creation of these "gems." Small museum with a tour guided by a very nice gentlemen. All in all it seemed more about selling jewerly and other items in a gift shop you are herded through at the end of the tour. Also a bit of pressure to leave a donation at the end of... More

Interesting to see with all the insects and bugs in from many years ago preserved. The tour was over before we knew it and moved very quickly into the gift shop. there was around 12 people on our tour with around 8 people working in the gift shop who tried very hard to sell you something. All very friendly and... More

The tour guide was nice, but it's hard to make something out of nothing. Very basic exhibits. The goal is to lead you to the gift shop. You can do this activity in 10 minutes. You can skip this activity and I don't recommend.
