Spent a few hours in Merengue with friends drinking cocktails and chatting to Jhonny, the owner. Great bar with amazing cocktails and local drinks. It's also a good place to dance. Well worth a visit

I went the the Merengue Club to learn Dominican Merengue and I was not disappointed. Johny and his brother were more than happy to change music, teach, drink, and critique between wonderful Mango Locos and my first Mama Juana, compliments of Johny. The entire club is wonderfully divided into areas for drinking, group dancing, and private dancing or chatting. This was really nice since most of the other clubs I visited were single room and really loud.

From the street this looks like a tiny bar. A very friendly owner who loves his music and when you get talking to him will play you old Merengue videos and tales of annual Merengue dances. A huge space behind the bar for quite conversations in the open air under the moonlight. So pleased to have found this place on the last night of our holiday...otherwise would have returned.
