My experience with "Mamajuana Travel" as a tour operator, has exceeded my Expectation as a tourist, i've been in the country for a little bit over 5 years and i decided to get to know what the Dominican Republic has to offer, and starting with Mamajuana Travel was way to start, the staff are amazing, and fun to be with.
Going to "Cayo Arena" is an amazing experience, the water is cristal clear and scuba diving makes it a complete experience

The pictures don’t do it justice. Amazing experience. Make sure to wear good sneakers & waterproof bag. This is very adventurous but beautiful!

Incredible snorkeling followed by a relaxing swim in the sea and lunch on the island. Rum included! Mamajuana planned the perfect experience for us! We were picked up and dropped off at our Condo by Alex. Alex not only drove us, he spent the entire day with us, making sure we understood everything (we don’t speak Spanish) and that we didn’t need anything, knew where the restrooms were, what time was lunch and what time the boat was leaving! Thanks to MamaJuana and Alex, we were treated like VIPs! Amazing experience!!

THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING ON THIS TOUR. The problem? From being picked up at my hotel at 6:36 AM to being dropped off at 8:20 PM, I thought I would spend the majority of that time sunbathing and relaxing at the beach, but that was not the case. Out of those 14 hours the tour lasted, I only got to spend 3 hours at the beach. The rest of that time? It was spent on transportation, sitting on buses. This tour it’s not worth it, at least from Santo Domingo. So at 6:36 AM I was picked up, then they picked up another passenger before we were on the way. Half way to Bayahibe (where the boats were waiting for us) they switched us to a bigger bus. That bus had to stop at different resorts to pick up more people. Then at the beach in Bayahibe, a small boat took us to a Catamaran (switching again) and finally we were on our way to the island, and it took another hour to get there. By the time I got to the beach, it was 1:30 PM. I was already exhausted. Now, you go ahead and think about doing the same thing when it’s time to get back….no way. Never again.

We regret that you spent most of your time in transportation rather than enjoying the beach. We understand that this can be frustrating and would like to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. Please note that this was an isolated incident, as usually the arrival time to the island is way much earlier than the one you mentioned.

We would like to inform you that we also offer options with direct and private transportation to the departure port, which could significantly reduce transfer time and allow you to enjoy more time on the beach.

Freddy and Brian were great tour guides; they handled all transportation, tickets, etc; so my wife and I could simply relax and enjoy the tour. Freddy and Brian are also very knowledgable and enthusiastic in sharing the history of the Dominican Republic.

This was an amazing experience. It was worth waking up early in the morning to travel from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana to meet fellow travelers from around the world. I went solo and I never felt alone. Though they offer to take professional pictures, I encourage you to take your own pictures to capture things that they might miss. It’s a very scenic adventure and you a get a better feel for the culture. Time flew! I wish they spent more time at Macao Beach. This is a definitely a must-do while spending time in the DR.

I’m a Domican leaving in Nj and am was taking my teen niece and young adult daughter how was visiting my country for the first time and wanted an unforgettable experience for them ,I was a little concerned on taking a tour however from the first time I got in touch with MR Rufino, and Met Anderson,Maria and William the driver I know we had found the right team. I give 100% recommendation and definitely will continue using their services on future visits. Thanks Mamajuana Travel you guys rock!!!
