The drive there is crazy. You are not sure where you are headed, and it's just at an odd place. Wow, but how worth it. When we arrived at the Pear the sun was blaring. it was gorgeous. By the time we arrived and crossed by boat the rain started.....it still is one of the most beautiful beaches I have... More

this is one of the nicest beaches in the world, very virgin and limited services, you access by boat to the beaches and stay until they come get you, you plan that ahead, cost is 1000 pesos per person, lunch can also be served at the departure point and is not cheap for the area. It takes 10-15 minutes of... More

I had been bragging to my work colleagues for months about visiting this remote beach near the Haitian border. I even had screen savers on my iPad.. I thought to myself it cannot be as beautiful as shown in the pictures, I must lower my expectations. On the morning of the trip I reminded myself to temper my expectations. The... More

My husband and I spend an afternoon here. Wow. It was incredible. There was no one within sight. We were able to snorkel and enjoy the beautiful sights without interference or interruption. The water was warm and calm and we just enjoyed the sunshine and solitude.

This beach is not all that accessible, especially if you don't have private transport. Having just returned a great weekend there, I thought I'd let on to how we did it. First you need to take an westward bound bus for the border town of Pedernales. From Barahona this takes about 3 hours and costs $250 pesos. From Pedernales take... More

Absolutely 10 stars, best beach in the Dominican Republic!!! My husband and I have been there several times and try to go back every chance we get, unspoiled away from crowds,in all our visits we never saw any more than 4 to 6 people, secluded and I can honestly say one of the few virgin beaches still left!!!

Bahia is a national park so you have to know how to get there. From Pedernales, it is about a 15 to 30 minutes motorcycle ride (can be quicker in a real car), depending on how the roads are once you get passed Cabo Rojo and onto the dirt road that leads to the Bahia. Right before the entrance to... More
