Over a two month period from mid-Jan to mid-March 2023, I logged more than 40 dives with Dive Dominica. I enjoyed every single one and have every intention of returning. We dove sites from Scott's Head to "The Quarry" which is an industrial jetty just south of Loubiere, and which became one of my favourite sites.

The boats are spacious and seldom crowded, though Dive Dominica does serve the Fort Young Hotel, and a big group at the hotel sometimes did take up a lot of the real estate on the boat.

Typically, we were in the water with three divemasters (front, back, middle). Briefings were thorough and informative. My dives were 55 to 65 minutes, and I never felt rushed to get out of the water.

They've got a good sized crew, but mostly I was in the care of divemasters Bert, Thomas and Earl, with Brenton captaining the boat, and they were all superb, both as critter-spotters and problem solvers with the occasional equipment issue.

About 20 paces from the dive centre is the Ocean's Edge restaurant, which is the perfect place for a deco beer and lunch after a couple of dives on some of the Caribbean's richest dive sites.

A word about the front office: There is no shortage of sunshine in Dominica, but if ever it needed an extra ray, it would find it in Dive Dominica's office manager, Dilma Bastien, who brightened every morning I dove with them. She made everything as easy as possible.

Just arrived back from a Fantastic week of Diving with Dive Dominica. Took a Group of 17 diver's to Dominica and stayed at Fort Young Hotel. Dive Dominica did an awesome job of entertaining all the divers with great sites and easy dives. I have been diving the world for 35 years and have had one of the best adventures in Dominica and Dive Dominica. The dive crew was very attentive and made sure dives were safe and appropriate.

We arranged a two tank dive trip through Fort Young Hotel where Dive Dominica has a location. From before arrival the team ensured that our trip would be catered to our requirements and confirmed. We brought our own gear so didn't rely on theirs but from observation the equipment they provided was good quality. They are a well organised efficient service with proper facilities to wash and hang out gear at the end of the dive. Equipment is brought down to the pier and loaded onto the boat by staff. It was just a matter of hopping into the large dive boat where we all had ample space to gear up. ( There were 4 other Divers with us ) The captain and dive masters were friendly, informative and accommodating. A quick snack of fruit bowls was provided on board between dives as well as towels. The dive sites were very beautiful and full of life. Champagne Reef was a unique experience and should be a MUST when visiting Dominica. We intend to return and will definitely be diving with this company due to the excellenct customer service all round. DIVE DOMINICA is who you should go to if you want to Dive in Dominica.

So this company has great gear and based on the other review our trip wasn't the luckiest since we only saw 2 sperm whales (so I hadn't seen any before so, still a win!)
Obviously part of it is bad luck, but we also had a ship captain that seemed very unfocused on his tasks. The sonar was barely used and he was on his phone most of the time playing games (instead of looking where he was going so the ship kinda went in zigzags). Therefore we feel that a more determined captain might have put more effort into actually finding animals.
The whole experience from arrival to returning to shore was 5h which is a bit too long for what we ended up seeing.

Don’t waste your money, yesterday we did “whale watching” but we did not see not even one and even worse the boat was in terrible condition and we have to stop and then go back with only one engine working.
Btw one of my friends took this “whale watching” trip three times and in none of them she saw whales.
But they have good rum punch the only positive thing in this trip.

I spent a week diving with Dive Dominica this month and it was one of the best dive trips I’ve ever had. The waters were teaming with beautiful fish and sea life and the corals and sponges were lush and brilliantly colored. Thanks to the sharp eyes of our dive masters we even saw sea horses on two different dives-the first I have ever seen. Our boat crew, Ernest, Nigel, Bert and Thomas took great care of us and there were 3 dive masters for about 15 people on each dive. The boat was clean and comfortable and had easy egress and entrance from the dives. We also did a whale watching trip with them and I saw more whales than on all my previous whale watching trips combined. I will be going back to Dominica and diving with them again soon and am really looking forward to it.

I spent 5 days diving with Dive Dominica and it was fantastic! This was during a quarantine so it was just myself and a friend and our diwvemaster Bert and Captain Stinger. Both of them were very professional and attentive. They followed all the Covid protocols and general dive safety measures, plus they were fun and friendly. The boat was in good shape - clean and safe. We took one of the smaller boats due to it just being 4 of us but the first day we had a larger boat that would be very nice fo a larger group of divers. Both boats had clean heads, drinking water, comfortable seats and room to get out of the sun. The marine life is amazing - both the variety and quantity. I've never seen so many types of coral. The water temps were 80-82 with very calm seas so getting back in the boat was a breeze. The rental equipment my friend used was in very good shape. I needed a minor repair to a hose and they took care of it with no problem.

Dive Dominica was very easy to communicate with and they were very flexible with us since we came off a cruise for the day. (Thank you!) Excellent dive sites at Soufriere/Scott's Head Reserve....particularly enjoyed The Abyss wall dive with TWO seahorses!! Fun group!

We had an amazing experience with Bill and Mr. Reggie. They were very experienced in finding the whales and we were lucky enough to see 15-20. We learned so much about their lives and Bill and Mr. Reggie made sure we understood so much about their eco system. We had an amazing tour and the scenery was incredible. We recommend this tour 100%. Also - taste the rum punch, you won’t be disappointed!

Badly maintained boat and no whales!
I understand that whales are wild animals and sightings are never sure but the boat was in a pity condition. They should have offered a refund after one engine failed and not a single sighting. Also staff should spend more time in order to make sure that their boat is in perfect working order, not just the engines but also deck fittings, the superstructure had cracks etc.
