We booked this through Vacations To Go for a shore excursion during our cruise stop here. We had a fantastic time! Our guide (Ale, Ali, Allen??) was joyous and friendly and funny. I was never sure of how to pronounce his name, but he said he was known in school as "chatterbox". He definitely lived up to his name -- but in a good way.
The “Jewels of Dominica” tour we took on definitely deserves a positive review!
Our guide Ale and our driver “Big Mama” we’re both funny and informative, and they never made the tour feel rushed. We were allowed to take our time and enjoy the amazing sites.
The tour started with a swim into Ti Tou Gorge. The water was "refreshing" but fine once you got in. Swimming through the cave was easy and very interesting. We visited Trafalgar Falls and the Botanical Gardens, but the other main stop was for snorkeling at the Champagne Reef. The snorkeling was great and easy and the masks worked perfectly. We had as little or as much time as we wanted. Overall it was a great day and we highly recommend using them.

My wife, daugher and I made a day stop on our cruise ship in Dominca and Nature Isle Explorers accommadated us with short notice on their Dominca Jewels tour with a small group of other passengers. Alain and Big Mama provided a great tour highlighting all the amazing spots that the island has to offer. Alain really impressed me when he strongly recommended that we not try to snorkel Champagne Reef because the ocean conditions were just too rough. I apprecieate his integrity as several other guides were being very forceful with their groups to get into the choppy waters for fear of not getting paid etc. Dominca is a beautiful island which has had some rough times with hurricanes and tropical storms but Alain and Big Mama don't let that get them down as they guide you around all the amazing natural sights.

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour in Dominica with our guide Alvin. He was an excellent driver and we felt safe navigating the winding roads of the rainforest. The highlight of our tour was definitely swimming in the Titou Gorge. The Trafalgar Falls were stunning as well. As part of the tour, we also stopped at Tia's Hot Spa, which I would probably skip next time, though was quite a nice stop. In the future, we hope to check out the Emerald Pool and go river tubing. Thank you for you great service!

We unfortunately had a dreadful experience on Jewels of Dominica tour today. Very old bus, not enough proper seats for everyone (extra jump seats were used). The driver (Judy) was absolutely terrible. No microphone. No one could hear him when he did speak and he gave absolutely no information about the island or even where we were going. The bus struggled to get up the steep mountain roads and all the other tour buses were passing us out. The driver gave no assistance in the water to anyone who needed it and was too busy having a good time himself. The 5 hour tour tool 7 hours. We got 1 small bottle of water to drink during this time (lots of beer available). We didn’t get to swim at trafalgar falls or spend time in botanical gardens. Snorkelling team were only professional part of this experience. 2 passengers left and made their own way back. Absolutely terrible. Zero value for money

Awful. These guys totally ruined Dominica for us. I booked this well in advance, had consistent contact up until we left for our cruise (which they knew which port we would arrive at). The instructions for the meetup point is where everything went haywire they were not outside the gates as indicated. We went to the other meetup point which we literally could not find because their landmark RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) has not been there for quite some time the building no longer even exists. Needless to say we missed the tour because their instructions were garbage. i contacted the same person as I always had done before on messenger, and he went radio silent...so PLEASE don't bother with these folks. They are scammers.

We booked the Titou Gorge, Trafalgar Falls, Botanical Gardens and Champagne Beach snorkel tour with Nature Isle Explorers and we were blown away at the beauty of the island and the helpfulness and professionalism of our guide Alvin. We were on the tour with our two kids, one almost 4 and the other 7. While my 4 year old was a little scared in the Gorge, our guide put her in his buoy so that she could feel safer. She was then perfectly fine and enjoyed the activity. The Falls and the Gardens are simply spectacular and Champagne Beach is a wonder to snorkel in. The guys at the equipment shop were incredibly helpful as well in getting us all fitted and both kids snorkelled around with ease. All in all, absolutely incredible, I highly recommend them on your trip to Dominica!

My husband and I did the Jewels of Dominica tour on our honeymoon. Our wonderful tour guide Alvin showed us lots of beautiful spots on the island and educated us about the county. Our favorite part of the tour was swimming in the Titou Gorge and getting photos in front of the waterfall. Highly recommend this excursion, and getting Alvin as your tour guide if possible.

Alain and Alvin were outstanding, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, guides of Dominica. We experienced great natural snorkeling, exciting swimming, and beautiful sight seeing during our five hour excursion. Wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.

Big Mama and Alan were amazing! They truly pack in all the coolest things to see. Our favorite was the Titou Gorge and the snorkeling was also really cool. I learned so much about Dominica and it easily was our favorite stop on our cruise.

Took a day tour (Champagne Reef, Totou Gorge, Trafalgar Falls, Botanical Garden) with Alain and Alvin. The were very friendly and helpful guides who shared their love of their island with us. Titou Gorge was by far our favorite part of the tour. Just be warned, the walk across the rocky beach to Champagne Reef snorkeling is treacherous and not recommended if you have bad knees or ankles. You could swim to it instead, but it would be a good distance.

I will be coming out on Jan 5 via a cruise ship and will be part of a party of 5 or of 7. Boat will be there from 8 am to 5 pm. Please advise what kind of package you could put together for us? thanks.

I agree with the previous response. We were there the same amount of time as you will be there and the tour was well worth it. We were on the Royal princess so we had to dock at the larger dock and different location then was on our comfirmation but we just walked through the terminal and outside the terminal was natural isles with a sign. One couple almost missed the tour because they were told they by the people on the dock that had to go to the other dock site to get the tour which was incorrect. Natural isle will know whihc dock your ship will be at so you do not have to worry. Enjoy your trip.

Hi All,
Has anyone done the "Dominica Most Captivating" tour? My mom is going and interested in this tour. I want to know if its a ton of walking, If you have to be in an shape to do this or can any average Joe go? How long is the hike and what is the level of it? The 2 minute swim seems to be not concerning. Is it just above water or is the swimming hard?
Any advice be greatly appreciated!
