Had a great day exploring Dominica with Levi Baron. Champagne Bay was unique and Levi leads you on the snorkeling expedition. It is really fun to watch him snorkel....he is great at diving down and showing you things you otherwise might have missed. Titou Gorge is beautiful (water is cold. I don't tolerate cold water very well but did ok with this. Worth it to see the beauty in the gorge and the waterfall/pool at the end) You'll have a great day with Bumpiing tours!

We stopped in Dominica during our 11-day holiday cruise and this was truly the highlight of our trip.

This was our first time in Dominica and I did my research to find a tour that would show us all the sights and be fun and engaging for our 8 year old. Levi was great at communicating the various tour options and answering any questions. His directions were easy to follow to the meeting point and off we went.

We did the Champagne Reefs, Titou Gorge, Trafagler Falls, Botanical Gardens and stopped at several points for some beautiful views and pictures.

Levi was helpful, knowledgeable and cared about his guests experience. We had a group of about 10 which as perfect. Levi made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the day and helped our 8 year old getting in and out of the water when needed. Levi is truly passionate about his country and it was great to spend the day with him hitting up all the sites.

Prices are fantastic for an all day tour and water/beer are included.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and book another tour with Levi!

Calvin was our excellent guide to take us to Trafalgar Falls, Emerald Pool, and a wonderful roadside food stand. We were a small group in a very nice, clean van. The ride and commentary was very informative. The area was beautiful and Calvin named the plants, trees and their uses. He made the tour very personal and interesting. The roadside stop was very enjoyable and educational. Great tour!

I booked Bumpiing Tours from the UK after reading their reviews on Trip Advisor.

Originally I arranged for a full day private tour with Levi (I had stipulated that we wanted Levi after reading some comments about another driver).

I have 3 girls (15, 11 & 11) all huge Pirates of the Caribbean fans so I asked to go to Titou Gorge as part of the tour. We were a little nervous as I had my 80 year old mum with us and none of us are particularly fit, but Levi put our minds at rest.

When I read our cruise itinerary again, I noticed that we didn't actually dock until 12 lunchtime so I emailed Levi back and changed the times, he was very accommodating and we chose the activities we would need to drop.

The night before we docked the cruise times came out again and it turned out we would be docking at 8am so as we were not due to meet Levi until 12 we thought we'd just have a late breakfast and go to a local area with wifi for the children but we'd docked in another area and it wasn't until we got off of the ship that we realised there was nothing there really so I thought I'd call Levi, let him know that we were at another dock and see if he could pick us up early. When I called, Levi answered straight away and had checked the cruise times, found out we were docking earlier and came to the other port to wait for us just in case we got off earlier. How's that for proactive service?

Levi was such a great guy, really knowledgeable about everything in Dominica and made us all feel at ease from the start. He pointed out different fruits and beans and related well to all the girls. As he knows the island so well he could predict the quiet times for places and when we went to Titou Gorge, we literally had the place to ourselves. It was amazing (even if a tad cold!). We swam up the gorge to the waterfall where dh and the girls through themselves off and we saw familiar sights from Pirates of the Caribbean. Levi, was with us at all times, lending a helping hand and making sure everyone was comfortable and safe. We all loved it. When we were leaving at least 6 big trucks filled with tourists were just arriving - Titou is only quite small and felt very intimate, I can't imagine what it would be like with hoardes of bodies in there.

He included beer, water and soft drinks in a big cooler which were very welcome.

After, we went to Trafalgar Falls where we all bathed in the hot springs - it was wonderful and again dh and the girls went off for a bit of an explore. Levi stayed with us but was never intrusive and we only really knew he was there when we needed him or he was giving us some advice and making sure we stayed safe. Again we had the place to ourselves until 2 coachloads of tourists arrived. I felt sorry for them as althought the views were stunning, their tour didn't allow them time to enjoy the water - which was defo the best bit.

We had a drive around the island, through the botanical gardens and had plenty of stops for photos then Levi took us to the supermarket to stock up on soft drinks to take back on the ship. He dropped us off at a little local roadside cafe just around the corner, which offered free wifi.

We had been worried about the walking and swimming and whether it would be out of our league but Levi made sure he parked as close as he could and took his time with all of us - we never felt rushed.
I asked Levi about the comments made about the other driver on some of these reviews and he was very honest about it, there were exceptional circumstances and I don't think it would happen again - so personally I would trust Levi's word.

We loved our day in Dominica and it was possibly the highlight of the whole cruise - we spoke to many fellow passengers who didn't think much to it.

I have no doubt if they had gone with Levi, they would have had a completely different experience and like us would see the beauty in spending much more time on Dominica.

Thank you Levi - I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending your tour without reservation and I hope we see you again some time.

Levi also recommended a tour in St Lucia for us and gave us some contact details (and we got a discount) - they too were great but not as good as you :)

We have just returned from a Caribbean cruise on Sea Princess. We are sure Levi's tour would have been as good as his reviews, had we gone on it. We booked on line before leaving UK and arranged to meet Bumpiing tours within half an hour of the ship docking, near a bank. No time was mentioned. We were one of the first off the ship when she docked at 8.15am. But we hadn't docked in Roseau. The ship had docked in Woodbridge. This tour was to be the highlight of our cruise and we didn't want to miss it. We got on a shuttle bus but he didn't want to go until he had a bus load. We decided it would be quicker to walk as the locals said it was only 5-10 minutes away. Nearly half an hour later after walking through some not very nice areas of Dominica and having to ask locals directions, we finally arrived in Roseau only to find that the tour had gone without us. We are in our mid 60's and it was all quite distressing. We had tried phoning Levi on his mobile to tell him we were on our way, he didn't answer. This is just a warning for others thinking of booking this tour. There is more than one docking area!

We may have been on the same tour as NemoCrownie as it all sounds very familiar. I was so excited for this tour because of all of the great stops. Garry gave us very little information on the tour. He started out with some basic history, but he had no microphone so no one in the back could hear any of it. After a few minutes he just started to chat with the person in the front seat and we heard very little from him the rest of the tour. We couldn't snorkel at Champagne reef, which we understood after seeing the conditions. We went on to bubble beach which was kind of cool, but again Garry did not tell us where we were or what we should bring with us. We were just wading, but we didn't know if we were swimming here or what. So little communication. Also, he wouldn't lock the van with our stuff in it so we were very uncomfortable leaving it. He said "nobody would steal it". Then we went on to Titou gorge which was very neat, but we hung around there for quite a while waiting for people to come out because it was too crowded inside the gorge. Again, Garry went to park the van and didn't come back for quite a while. As people were coming out we were left wondering as to when we should go in. People were coming out, but then other people would go in. We felt like Garry should have been there to let our group know when to go in. Our next stop was the Falls where he told us to wait by the entrance and then disappeared again. We found him ordering lunch and when we asked him whether we should go in, he said he was just waiting for his food, but if we wanted to go in, he would get us in and we could go on ahead. We weren't trying to be contrary, we just wanted to know what we were supposed to be doing. A couple of people in our group got left behind at the entrance, not knowing that the rest had gone ahead. At the falls, Garry told us nothing about them. He showed us down to the hot springs, then I didn't see him again. Not sure where he went. I slipped on a rock in the hot springs and hurt my knee, so headed back up to the viewing platform. I wanted to head back since I knew I would be slower but I told my husband to wait, because Garry wouldn't know we had left. We waited for about 15 minutes, when I saw some of the rest of the group head back down the trail, so I we headed back too. I don't know why I was worried about Garry missing us, he was already back at the Van! Unlike other guides I have had, he did not take care of us. Very big disappointment as Dominica is a beautiful island. I will not use them again.

This was our second trip to Dominica and our second tour with Levi, the owner of Bumpiing tours. He is simply the nicest guy who loves presenting his country to people from all over the world. He is informative, fun, always into conversations about strange subjects his van full of people meander into. His supply of Kubuli beer always helps that conversation get animated and funny. Dominica is beyond description for it's beauty, but it is it's citizens pride for it that makes it a special place for me. I hope they never expand the docks for more Cruise ships. It will overwhelm a somewhat intimate way to experience a true gem. Thank you again Levi, and I hope the next time we can finally swim the current and make it all the way to the the falls!

We had an amazing tour with this company--our guide was Nathan and he was incredible. We customized our tour and the group we were with was relatively small in size. We first visited the champage beach (and Nathan called ahead to each tour spot--to minimize the crowding--which was an above and beyond service he provided). We then visited the waterfalls (his and her falls)--breathtaking and then our last stop was the gorge (where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed)--DO NOT MISS THE GORGE. The views and to swim in these cave-like areas in the freshest of waters was an experience we won't forget. Beware of the end--they had a lot of rain and the end of the gorge presented very turbulent rapids--you don't have to go into the rapids but there is a current--you do wear flotation so even if you are not a great swimmer - do not be afraid. There is also an opportunity to jump from a cliff (about 15 feet up)--do it! You simply drop in--a real rush!!

I think we were on the same tour with Andrea M. We had done the Roseau Valley Treasures tour with Levi on a previous visit to Dominica and had such a great tour and such a fun day that we booked the tour again so our travelling companions could have a similar first visit to this amazing island. Levi was to another tour on our date but assured us we would have an equally fantastic day with either Kelvin or Garry. Our guide was Garry and the day started out fun with Garry being very informative. We were unable to snorkel at Champagne Reef due to the water conditions so we made the stop and were shown the area and then made a stop at Bubble Beach Spa which was really neat but we were not given any information on the place or what to do while there. This was the point where the commentary all but ended for the rest of the day.
We then headed to Titou Gorge with a quick drive through of the botanical garden. Garry said we would stop here on our way back when it was less crowded. We arrived at Titou Gorge, along with busloads of other visitors. Garry told us we would wait for the crowd to thin out and then left our group; several passengers stated he had gone up the hill and was smoking pot while we were waiting for him. I didn't see this so I can't verify it. Garry came back and we all through the Gorge. This was an amazing experience the first time but this time Garry swam in front with the life preserver ring and did not try to assist any of the weaker swimmers through the strong current or offer much information on the area. Titou Gorge is amazing but this was not any where nearly as much fun as our first trip through. Just swim in, swim in the waterfall, and then swim back.
The next stop was Trafalgar Falls. Upon exiting the van Garry told everyone to go up to the restrooms and wait for him. Everyone went up and waited, and waited, and waited...No Garry. Someone went looking for him and he was in a room eating and he said we were just to head down the trail to the falls. On the trail we ran into another Bumpiing Tours guide pointing out interesting things on the trail and I commented that I wished he was our guide and told him we were also with Bumpiing but our guide decided he needed a lunch break and told us to just take the trail. That guide said this would be Garry's last stop and within 10 minutes Garry was with our group - and not happy. Garry stopped us on the path where the hot spring goes under it and told us this is where we were to get in the hot spring if we wanted. I told him that before, with Levi, we had gone down through the rocks to the bottom and relaxed in pools of hot mineral waters and seen the base of the falls. Garry told me were there. A few of us continued through the rocks and passed people coming up from the pools but were uncomfortable leaving our group so we didn't go down. This was very disappointing as that had been a highlight of the prior tour.
After this very brief hike we boarded the bus, did another quick drive through the botanical garden - no mention of stopping - and were delivered back to the ship.
Our trip was to consist of 1) snorkeling at Champagne Reef and we understood why we it wasn't feasible, 2) Titou Gorge - amazing place that was just so-so with Garry, 3) Trafalgar Falls with an extra two minute walk where we could soak in the HOT mineral water - which Garry refused to do, 4) Drive through the Botanical Gardens, and 5) Morne Bruce which we didn't do.
The island is beautiful and the stops should have been amazing. Our tour guide was not good. The tour guide with the other group we ran into seemed very good and Levi was awesome. If I was going to book this tour I would want assurance that Garry was not my guide and would try to get Levi since I don't know the other guides name.

We were on a Southern Caribbean cruise two weeks ago and were in Dominica 8am-4:30pm. I was able to book the Roseau Valley Treasure tour with Levi in advance (Levi's website: www.bumpiingtours.com ). Although Levi’s van was already fully booked, he was able to arrange a separate van for the 4 of us where we would meet up with his group at each of the attractions to enjoy excellent tour conducted by him.

I am not a swimmer but was dying to experience Titou Gorge where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed and to see the bubbles at Champagne Reef. Levi made it happen for me and other non-swimmers. He helped us swim through the Titou Gorge, and at Champagne Reef he took me to 15ft deep in the ocean to witness not only the bubbles from the volcanic vent but also the underwater wonders I could never have imagined. I’m really grateful of Levi, I don’t know if anyone else would do the same - it came from his heart.

A note about Titou Gorge: I have read many reviews that the water at the Gorge was very cold. I’m always afraid of cold – I’m almost always dressed warmer than others and I thought I wouldn't be able to withstand the cold water. And honestly I don’t think the water there is any colder than that of a typical swimming pool. So, please don’t let this refrain you from doing the Titou Gorge tour.

The 1st stop of the tour was Titou Gorge and the last stop was Champagne Reef. We also visited Trafalgar Fall and spent some time soaking in the sulfuric spring there. Our driver Sassil shown us a great variety of interesting plants and flowers along the way and made stops for pictures and shared with us the interesting facts about the country. We drove through the Botanical Garden and saw the bus wreck by the hurricane, and the Wotten Woven Hot Spring, and the Morne Burce view point. The tour started at 8:30am and we were back to the ship at 3:30pm. I consider the $47 an excellent value and cannot ask for more.

Before the cruise I wonder why so many people rated Dominica their highlight of the cruise, and now I understand. Without a doubt Levi made Dominica the highlight of our trip as well!
