Wander through the Papillote Tropical Gardens. Flowering jade vines of an unbelievable shade of blue, huge pink or red ginger blossoms, aroids, begonias, bromeliads, ferns, indigenous orchids and heliconias form sumptuous compositions to tempt artists, botanists, gardeners and photographers. Frogs and other creatures live contentedly with 30 kinds of bird and 19 species of butterfly amongst hot and cold waterfalls and soothing hot mineral pools.

I would say the gardens here are better than the botanical gardens. A small fee, I think $5USD to take this 15minute walk, or however long you choose, to see an unbelievable array of a vast variety of tropical flowers. Some I'm sure are quite...More

Dear Alicia D.. Thanks for your review of Papillote Gardens. It encourages us to do more and become even better. We are so happy to present a wonderful experience for explorers of Dominica

Ther is so much to see and a professional guide makes all the difference. There are also hot pools in which you can have a dip and a good, shady restaurant overdoing the gardens. Highly recommended.

The owner and creator, Anne, has made an incredible garden surrounding her hotel and restaurant. Almost all of the species to be found on Dominica are here, as well as hot pools and a delightful and attentive staff.

Lovely gardens, but hard to get to without a car. Definitely call in advance, as we dropped by without warning and the kitchen was closed. They still kindly made us a sandwich (tasty) and cocktails, but it would have been nice to have the whole...More

Such a pretty garden with so many exquisite flowers, birds, trees, and local plants. If you love birds and gardens you're going to love this place. Get there early enough so you can soak in the baths, go from hot to cold and back again....More

This place sounds very lovely. So is the Trafalgar Falls the falls that is part of the Interlude package? If not, is there a cost to see the Trafalgar Falls? Is there a means to change clothing after and before getting into the spas? What time does the prearranged bus take us back to the cruise ship? How rough is the terrain in getting around the property?

We will be arriving in Roseau by cruise ship on Sunday, December 25th (Christmas Day). 1. Will Papillote Gardens be open for visitors? 2. Will the restaurant be open for lunch? 3. Will transportation be available to and from Roseau? Please advise the approximate U.S. $ cost for each item # 1, 2, 3. Thank you.
