We came down here to eat and watch the political convention. After the speeches, the music started on the main stage and this was a great position to watch from. We ate the Marlin which was excellent. The atmosphere was good and the owner and waitresses really friendly. Ok , it is a little expensive by Dominican standards but we were happy to pay a little extra for a really good venue.

Hi Rose is an undiscovered treasure. When I visited Dominica, after hurricane Maria, I would drop by Petite Paris to have the Lion Fish sandwich. One day they had no Lion Fish, or any fish. I then walked to the nextdoor upstairs. As you enter, you are shocked. They have sand, upstairs on the ground. WOW ! Felt like I was at the beach. I met a waiter called Len. He is delightful. After he gets the order, he goes to the kitchen to ensure all is available. I was in Dominica for 4 days, staying at Fort Young. I ate at Hi Rose every single day. One day lobster, next day Mini Mahi, next day Tuna and finally I had the Salmon. All of the above mentioned, can be grilled, steamed,or curried. The chef is excellent and versatile. You can even go to the kitchen and chat with him. I recommend this restaurant unhesitatingly. Besides the great staff, and wonderful chef, you sit and every day there was a cruise ship just over the road. FANTASTIC. See photos.

I went with my friends on Sunday to eat there for lunch as it was one of the only places open. We ordered a meal each and a few drink. I asked for rice and got French fries instead, I told the waitress and she brought later rice and didn't take back the fries I didn't eat. what a surprise to see the restaurant charged the French fries I didn't ask for! The side dishes were written 5$ on the menu but they had us pay 10$. After I paid the bill, the waitress told me she made a mistake and the bill should be 5$ more. I refused to pay more than what I already paid and that was not my mistake! I already paid for fries I didn't want!! Then that was the worse... the manager run after me in the restaurant and started to insult me and ask me for 5 extra$. I explained the situation and he just screamed "I don't open on Sunday and serve you this s*** for nothing" (he used "sh**" to talk about his own food!) I wanted to leave. He grabbed my shoulder and made me fall. If I was not a foreigner, I would have called police and press charges. Moreover the food (rosti) was not very tasty. In the street on the other side they serve fresh food from local people from Dominica so I would recommend to eat there instead of this restaurant (the owner said he is from Guadeloupe... )

Advertised the best rum punch on the Island. Should have said the most expensive. Visited mid day and ordered two rum punches. Enjoyed the drinks but nothing special. Paid the bill at $20 USD, I.e. $10 USD per drink. compare elsewhere at about $5USD. For a country trying to get over the damage of the hurricanes in 2017 this is not the best approach. If you wish to contribute to the recovery then give to those that are making a real effort and not some money grubbing bar that give the rest of this beautiful island a bad name. Tip.... Ask the price before ordering.

We came for early dinner. The waitress was quite slow and not overly friendly. We waited a while for our drinks. We have ordered several mains which got mixed up which created confusion. Wrong side dish to one main. Then they add 10% surcharge - but not to the overall bill but to the individual dishes and round it up to usd (if you are paying in usd). So dish that costs 11 usd ends up 13 usd. Etc. the food was ok. The best was the roti which had nice light spice. But overall I would not recommend.
