This is the only place in the world where you can see some descendants of the original inhabitants of the Caribbean before the arrival of Colon. The Caribs or Kalinago as they were originally called have a reserved in the North East side of the...More

As a journalist interested in writing about Kalinago (Carib) culture, I was very keen for a genuine, immersive experience. I booked a home stay with Irvince and Louisette Auguiste of Touna Village. Sadly, Hurricane Maria was not kind to their home but they have been...More

This is a very well done cultural center. I highly recommend taking a tour guide. Be sure to have lunch after the tour before you leave the property. It is devine!

Great place to learn about the Kalinago people´s history and Culture. We had a guide who told us a lot about the kalinago people. We also saw a dance show. Great handicrafts are sold directly by the women who makes it. Good prices.

Robbery, Safety in Carib Territory (4 Replies)
A friend on a tour bus from a cruise ship docked in Dominica was robbed in Carib Territory. The bus was held up at gun point and all passengers were robbed of all posssessions, including clothes. Has anyone else heard of this instance or of others? Is safety in the Carib Territory a problem or anywhere else on the island?
