Drove two hours to get to screws sulphur spa to find out that it is permanently closed and no longer there. Extensive hurricane damage took it out. Google shows it as being there and open and it is wrong. Someone else on this site reviewed as Bongo baths and it is not the same thing ...bongo is down the road but not always open. Check Tias soa down the road. $10 us per person and is small but nice bathes.

I have known this extraordinary place for many years and when we wanted to come back we found it deserted and closed although Screws was advertised as open on the website. We were very disappointed as it is not so easy to get there at the moment. A neighbour told us that this place only opens for cruise ships. Conclusion: a bitter disappointment and misleading. Screws I hope you find back to your true chances and format.

Since being upgraded the owner has a TERRIBLE snobby attitude, but the waters are lovely. Just give him the $25 ec and go enjoy yourself. P.s make sure to bring your own drinks and snacks.

Sadly Screws was badly damaged by Hurricane Maria and when we visited Wotten Waven on 3rd May 2018 it was not in operation.

As much as I wish that I wasn't writing this, but I feel compelled to, in order to avert another situation like the one I experienced on my visit to "SCREWS" a few days ago.
A very succesful family reunion was coming to an end so we (a group of over twenty five including children) decided to spend the afternoon at "SCREWS". On our arrival my nephew, brother- in- law and myself went into the establishment to check out the prices, whilst the rest of the party waited in the car park. We looked around to try and get some information but could not see anyone around. All of a sudden a slim guy in an orange headgear appeared, clicked his fingers to becon me over to him and then walked off. He returned with two A4 laminated posters and chucked them on a desk and said "read this" and then walked away again. After what seemed like an eternity I went to find him with the intention of purchasing the tickets. I found him chatting to a lady at what looked like a bar on the far side of the site. I told him we are ready to pay but there are also some locals with us. Locals pay a lower price. He then said that he wanted to see ID before he would allow anyone in. I asked what form of ID, he said I need ID and then walked off again. I followed him and said to him, why is it that I have to follow you all over the site to try and pay you to enter the site; what kind of customer relation you adopt here and I hate your ignorant attitude. Before i knew what was happening, he ran over to the the bar on the far side and reached behind the counter and took out a electric taser, wrapped the cord around his wrist and was in my face asking me to get the f**k out of his place. I proceeded to walk out to the car park area away from the site, but he followed me shouting expletives and posturing in the most menacing way. The children now having witnessed what was happening became histerical and had to be driven away. Other customers also having witnessed the comotion press me to call the ploice but i did not. They also left without entering. This situation could easily have got out of control and someone could have been seriously hurt or dare I say it, been fatal. I was later told that those tasers can emit up to 50,000 volts. A frightening prospect.
I am Dominican and always support any attraction on the Island, but I find it hard when I meet someone like this who truly has no interpersonal skills whatsoever. He may be enjoying a bounty at present, but if customer care isn't drasticly improved, that site will be closed in less than a year. If customers are treated in this threatful manner, I do not see any future for this spa. My rating above reflects my recent experience, although i have been there prior to this and find it very average.

Our group of 15 arrived at Screws Spa. The woman working the gate asked what we wanted. Our tour guide responded that we wished to enter the spa. The woman said, okay but its 20.00 US if you aren't locals, even though the sign said 10. She said that was their new prices. Our guide was surprised as just the week before it was 10.00. We all said, forget it. The woman was surprised and told us to wait. We left and went 2 mins down the road to Tia's spa. It was great.

We'd heard such good things about Screw's and were excited to visit. But when we arrived, we were confronted by a woman with an expression so sour it would have given a lime serious competition. She greeted us with an annoyed "Yes?" as though we had wandered into her backyard uninvited. We were so taken aback, we didn't know what to say.

My husband managed to ask if we had arrived at Screw's and if we could use the Spa. The woman pointed to a table with a price list on it and said something we couldn't hear because there was ear-splitting reggae music filling the courtyard. I told her I hadn't heard what she said and asked if she could lower the music a bit so we could hear her. She sulked off, resentment trailing behind her, and fiddled with the volume. Lowering it and then raising it and lowering it again and then raising it even louder than before. WOW!!! Really???

She came back and started to say something, but it was impossible to hear her. My husband and I looked at each other in shock and simply turned on our heels and left Screw's. This really wasn't what we wanted from a spa. Isn't it supposed to be relaxing and peaceful? Happily we ended up at nearby Papillote Wilderness Retreat, which is not a spa, but is peaceful and beautiful, with welcoming staff and wonderful hot sulphur pools and waterfalls, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

If there was an option for zero stars, I would choose it. My husband, kids and I visited my family in Dominica and we decide to visit Screw spa. I don't know if the owner has lost his mind or is operating on pure greed, but he charges $50 EC for non-residents, which is ridiculous. Just think about going to your neighborhood pool. Would you pay $50.00 for a visit.
In addition, the owner had promised my parents-in-law that they could enter Screw at a reduce price. When they asked to speak to the owner, he refused to speak to them. He told his employee to "go and do your job" (this is what his employee told us).
What makes it even more ridiculous is that there is another spa called Ti Kwen Glo Cho about 5 minutes away and he only charges $10 EC per person, $5 EC for kids. The owner at Glo Cho is very professional, much nicer and very welcoming. I would recommend going there instead. STAY AWAY from Screw.

So glad we read the earlier reviews on this attractive and rustic thermal spa facility at Wotton Waven. We had hired a taxi with another couple of friends and made this part of our itinerary. It is not far from one of the tourist hotspots at Trafalgar Falls so you could combine this with that visit and escape rentacrowd. Just after opening it was quiet except for us and a friendly 3 generation local family. The changing rooms are basic and the waters of the several pools resemble a muddy pool but they are very enjoyable especially when you take a more bracing cold plunge in conjuction with the hot waters
the pools benefit from having been landscaped into an attractive natural valley setting with lush vegetation around. Don't take your best swimsuit as slight staining from the sulphurous minerals is possible. Enjoy water and complementary fresh fruit after bathing - highly reccommended

We visited in April 2014 after hearing great things about the spa. We arrived after the cruise ship excursions had returned back to the boat so we had all the pools to ourselves. The pools and the setting are incredible and it is one of the most impressive places I've ever visited. We did all the pools and I would rate it 5 out of 5 for the spa experience.

However, after our spa we were about to leave and one of the younger family members wanted to do some exploring of the upper grounds near the bars. We approached some small shacks totally covered in tin and a dog started barking at us, I was absolutely appalled. These dogs are kept these tiny tin shacks exposed to the sun with barely any air gap, it must be unimaginably hot for them in there. I get that there maybe a need for guard dogs but at least treat them better than that, the conditions you keep them in is unnecessarily cruel. Seeing this for me absolutely ruined my (and my niece's) experience.
