This was our first time fishing on open water. Clint and Niels were both friendly and answered my 101 questions with patience. The boat really is clean and well organized, as mentioned on their website. Niels steered the boat out along the coast toward the east. Clint set up the lines, and we reeled in the fish. My 10-year old had a lot of fun with this, and was excited about pulling in a barracuda. If you are not just focused on the fishing, you can also see the flying fish jumping out of the water. The boat also has some space where you can just sit and enjoy the view. Since it was only our family with Clint and Niels, the experience was more private, and I really enjoyed that. We will definitely remember this experience. In my son's words: The experience is "too good to describe". This is definitely an experience to enjoy for smaller groups that like fishing.

Went out with 6 people in late September. Caught a couple mahi-mahi right off then things settled down. By the time we were done we had 5 mahi-mahi and one small barracuda in the ice cooler. We would have like to have kept one of the mahi-mahi (or even a piece of one) to take back to the restaurant at our hotel for a fresh fish dinner but we were told the crew keeps the fish and that is why the cost is low. The website said “the crew will clean and bag it for you free of charge” but that was not the case. The mate put 5 lines in the water and was very skilled at keeping them untangled. The reels were a little hard to handle. Reeling in a little 12 inch fish proved to be hard. It could have been me but I have gone deep sea fishing before and didn’t have that issue. At the end of the trip I had 2 mahi-mahi on my line at the same time. That was VERY hard to reel in as I was only able to get two reel cranks as I dropped the rod tip. The first mate was there to help as he grabbed the fishing line with his hands and pulled while I reeled. The boat was clean the captain did a great job of handling the large swells. If I am ever in Curacao again I will definitely consider Plan B again but I will verify ahead of time about keeping the fish.

Smooth communication, fair deal for ‘Open Charter’, including timely pick up at airport, and of course... an exciting half a day of sea hunt, with lots of tuna hooked, an occasional near-catch-of-a-giant, cool drinks and lots of passionate info on what we were actually doing & catching. For anyone who wants to Experience this kind of adventure: recommendable!

Ok this was amazing! Neither of us are fishermen by any means but this was a whole lot of fun. The expedition takes you up One side of the island and back and everyone has a chance to catch something. The instruction is solid and the crew share their knowledge willingly. Don’t be disappointed but at the end of it all the spoils of the day are kept and shared among the marina community. A really great experience. Highly recommended!

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 boys 9 and 11. We booked Niels 6-hour Pro Trip; fishing and Klein island combo for January 2019. I asked a lot of questions via email prior to booking and communication with Niels was always quick and efficient. We used a credit card to hold the reservation and paid in full the day of the trip. Niels and Ronald were fantastic. The boat was great, clean and met our expectations. Now unfortunately the sea was not our friend the day of our trip and we could not make it to the island which was a disappointment. The water was very, very rough, waves 3-4ft. or more, they said it was going to get worse, and for safety we had to turn back. Now on the up side, the fishing was good husband was able to catch some Tuna and a great big Barracuda. Captain Niels made some other suggestions for snorkeling but the boys weren't feeling the best and wanted to cut the trip short. So Niels worked with us and we ended up doing a 4-hour charter instead. Overall I would definitely recommend Captain Niels !!!
