Went for the afternoon, beautiful beach but very rocky. Highly recommend water shoes. Need to go down steps to get to the beach.

Last time I was here, was in 2014. I remember there being a sign with an emergency number number to call if you saw a lion fish. But the sign is long gone now. Didn’t see any lion fish too. The stairs that use to take you down to the beach are closed for renovation. Entrance to the beach currently is via a gate and a steep hill down. Don’t park your car they’re, As this gate will be closed and locked when the snek closes (around 4pm). Looks like they’re building new facilities, also the parking lot has undergone a massive upgrade. It now also includes a loop for buses (as you can all see on the photos). This beach is not to big and caters mainly for locals, which gives it a very nice vibe. Can get very busy with families barbecuing in the weekends. Especially Sundays. Today, on a Friday, it was not. A beach chair costs NAF 7,50 and a parasol NAF 10. So for NAF 25 we were good to go, yet still people moan about ‘the prices being to high’. In Euros that’s next to nothing. A holiday package deal does not mean that all beaches in Curaçao should be included in the price. The ‘Snek’ only accepts cash payments. As does the guy who gives the tickets for the beach chairs and parasols (which are also valid voor Kenapa Chiki- or Kleine Knip Beach). As we did not take that into account and spent all our cash money on the beach chair and parasol, I had to drive to the local ATM in Barber (about 15 minutes drive). The beach was fairly clean, but littering (mainly) by locals is a serious problem (as you can also see on the Weg naar Westpunt. I saw one kid just toss a drink container in the sea while he ran away. Such a shame. The snek isn’t always open. Looks like there aren’t pre defined opening hours. Bringing your own food could be a good idea. And finally, there are a lot of Manzanilla trees. They are very poisonous (bark and fruit). One of them is marked with a sign saying so, but there are plenty more of trees around. When it rains and you happen to be under one of those tree, you can get serous burns from the poison coming of the bark and branches. So be warned!

Not your typical beach club, but just a breathtaking beach, for tourists and locals. Great for swimming, snorkeling and do a cliff jump if you are a daredevil.
