My girlfriend and I had an efoil lesson this summer and it was one of the best experiences of our trip to Curacao! What really made the whole experience was our instructor, Bob who so patient, knowledgeable and kind. For those who have not tried it, efoil boards are essentially self powered surfboards with a hydrofoil fin. Getting the hang of using the remote while simultaneously balancing on the board was a lot trickier than we thought it was going to be. Thankfully, Bob’s advice and encouragement had us shredding by the end of the lesson 😎. We were even allowed to go a bit over our time, as there was not a lesson after us. Efoil was such a cool, new experience and I would 100% recommend a lesson with Bob on your next trip trip to the island. -Josh

Our cruise stopped in early January at Curacao. I had arranged with Windsurfing Curacao for a lesson for my three of my children ranging in age from 11 to 16. I rented equipment while they took their lesson. The dock and area that they operate from is basic, but has a place to change, a bathroom, and water. The lessons take place in a sheltered little bay which is perfect for beginners. In an hour and half lesson each of my kids became comfortable sailing out, turning and returning to the landing area. They all enjoyed the windsurfing and I was very happy with the result. The staff were very friendly and it was a great experience for me and the kids. The equipment I rented was very good (140L starboard and 8M Maui Hot Sails). The wind was pretty light the afternoon we were there, so I was not able to get planed. However, I enjoyed the location and getting out on the water all the same. There is a good view when you get out from the dock and it is a great place to windsurf, if you are not looking for waves. I would note that I had arranged the pick up a the cruise port at 2:30PM for a 4PM lesson. The pick up was a bit mixed up as I did not realize that the ship time and local time were different. I was an hour late for the pick up. I called Hilde who confirmed they had tried to pick me and the kids up an hour earlier. We agreed I would get a cab to the their dock and proceed with the lessons. She had indicated she could arrange one for me, but it was quicker for me to grab one at the cruise terminal. The cab to Windsurfing Curacao at cruise terminal rates cost me $40 (for four people). Hilde arranged the cab back to the terminal and it cost $24 (again, for four people). So, arrange you transportation through Windsurfing Curacao as it is cheaper. I will be back the next time I am in Curacao.

They picked me up (by dinghy) twice from Santa Barbara resort and dropped me back. Spent a few hours windsurfing each time. Lagoon is scenic and fairly safe as it doesn’t have the risk of being in the open ocean. Wind was quite enough for an enjoyable time. Entire crew is very pleasant and helpful - Max, Hilde, Hu(?) and that other guy. They have complimentary water cooler and restroom facilities.
