This was my third time with this company, since my family was with me we booked a private tour to specific spots. Super easy communication and payment, our wonderful driver "Patricia" was waiting when our ship arrived. Great day in seeing so many spots, beaches, turtle swimming, cliff jumping and on and on. Did not waste time and were taken to a wonderful place on the beach fro lunch. excellent reputable and reasonable out. .

Used Curacao Actief for airport transfers in November 2019 and again in January 2020. I booked online and received email from them immediately. They even send a video link as to how to find them when you exit immigration at the airport. Representatives are very helpful and got us on our way to the resort quickly.

Today we went on a tour with our private tourguide Elmer! We had a amazing day! He told us so much about the history and other things of the island. We went to the caves, went snorkeling with seaturtles and many many other things. It was a day full of laughter, an amazing experience! We recommend it to everyone!!! Go on a tour with Elmer!

Do not use this company. They were 30 minutes late picking us up from the airport to get us to our hotel and over an hour late picking us up from our hotel to get back to the airport. And we had prepaid. Very unreliable. Finally took a taxi and had to pay more.

DANGEROUS! My husband and I went on this tour aug 27 2012. Our driver was over an hour late picking us up do to a local traffic accident. The jeep we toured in had hard plastic seats very uncomfortable especially over rugged terrain and bad roads. The seat belts were rusted,would not adjust and did not stay closed. It had rained the day we went on our tour. Our driver thought he would give us a thrill by hitting all the mud puddles. We were all splatted with mud.Some of our clothes ruined. The worst was that he kept making the jeep fishtail We thought several times that he was going to roll us. We had to yell at him to slow down. Nice to know the seat belts not working throughout this ordeal. Our picknick lunch was a roll with chicken salad. He skipped taking us to the Kueba di Brua cave and the Suplado crater because of his late pick up. We have toured often and in other countries. This tour should be avoided

This was one of my favorite travel experiences!
Booking: Super convenient and easy! I emailed them initially asking if they were running a specific tour and immediately got a response saying that tour was not operating that day but they could customize a private tour just for me and my husband. I loved this idea because we were only in Curacao for a few days and I love doing private tours where you can have fun with you guide rather than have a great guide who is trying to herd people around. I had a pretty thorough phone call where I discussed our general preferences...we're pretty go with the flow and laid back which can maybe be frustrating when trying to find out what we wanted but I was impressed with how they were able to help me pick an itinerary and we were all set to go!
A hiccup turned awesome:
The night before our tour we received an email that our guide for the next day had an extenuating circumstance, which was explained, and they asked us to reschedule to the next day. It turns out they left a message with our hotel which we never got..so I was thankful for the email. It ended up working out for the best because we were able to go to the aquarium to swim with the stingrays and feed the sharks on a no-cruiseships in port day which turned out to be private too (I highly recommend it!). I was happy to move the day and they ended up giving us an extra hour for free which allowed us to add in another activity that I was really wanting to do but didn't think we'd have time for. Thanks guys!
The tour: This tour was one of my all time favorites.
Morning:
In the morning Elmer drove us around to see the island (which I actually love doing) and he took us snorkeling at a sunken pier and the tugboat, which was so awesome and which really challenged me as I'm a strong swimmer but sometimes I let my fear of the deep blue get the best of me and tend to stay close to shore. He also took us to the curacao distillery and we ate tamarins off a tree after. Elmer is so nice, really knowledgeable and funny!
Afternoon:
We had SUCH a great second half of our day with Bernice. She is so super enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fun. The first thing on our agenda for the afternoon was lunch. After paying $52USD for 2 flip flops at Mambo beach the day before, I expected this to be pricey...but Bernice took us to a great spot in downtown Willemstad that had great food at a fair price and she was able to use some great tour guide charm to get us quick service. She offered to let us have our lunch privately, and I actually really appreciated how respectful that was, but of course we had her join us and had great conversation right off the bat. Bernice is so warm and friendly that she felt like an instant long time friend...Next up we saw forts, bridges, downtown, the caves and amazing views at Shete Boca National Park where Bernice was our own personal photographer intent on getting just the right picture with the waves crashing behind us,the salt beaches with the flamingos, she took us snorkeling to see the sea turtles and even borrowed my camera to get some amazing close up shots, and we saw some killer views on our way back to the hotel. How is it possible to do so much in one day?! Bernice is really passionate about her country's land and history and about sharing it with other's and it really shines through. In addition to being a wonderful guide and the most avid chocolate lover I have ever met, I found Bernice's life stories to be really inspiring.

We recently took a chance with Curacao Actief when on a cruise that had a one-day stop in Curacao. It was an incredible experience! We were picked up at the pier by our guide in a jeep that seats 8, but it was just the 2 of us. We had only booked a 1/2 day snorkle trip, but our guide treated us to a number of visits and clearly spent more than the allotted time with us. He first put us in the water at a beach that didn't look like it would have much to see. We were mistaken, however, as we spent quite a bit of time viewing the fish and coral there. Then we snorkeled the tugboat wreck. When we arrived, there were 2 groups already there, so our guide just took us right by them and further down the coast where the groups were not allowed to go. We saw an incredible amount of healthy coral and a ton of fish. As we meandered our way back, the other groups had moved on, so it was just perfect. This is a far superior experience than you will ever get with the big groups run by the cruise lines. You won't regret it!

We contacted a company called "Curacao Actief". This was contracted several months prior. My credit card was charged the week before. When we docked, a gentleman met us at the dock. He walked us over to a cabbie who stopped and picked up another fare that spoke a different language. When I pay for a company to give a tour, I would like that company to give the tour. If I wanted to hire a cab driver, I would have done that on my own.

Our particular tour is no longer offered. Still, the company honored our booking in spite of only just two of us booked on the day of the tour. Javier, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He tailor made the tour to our interests. Curaçao is such a beautiful island. I wished we had more time to take it all in. We will just have to return again one day.

Wow! We took a 7 hour tour w guide, Long, that included spectacular views of the northwest coast of Curacao, the Shete Boka National Park, visiting a cave (Kueba di Brua), snorkeling w turtles at Playa Grandi and lunch at Playa Forti Restaurant. If that wasn’t enough, Long took us hiking to a quiet and remote beach, Black Sand Beach (Boca Santu Pretu), for great snorkeling and finished up the tour w a stop to see flamingos at Salina Sint Michiel.

Our cruise ship is in port from 11am-11pm next month. Would you recommend the Wonderful World of Water or Breath of Curaçao trip? We are considering the Wonderful World of Water but not sure since we arrive in port later in the day.

I'm not familiar with either of these tours by name, but I found the people at Curacao Actief to be amazingly helpful before the cruise answering all of my questions and providing reliable information, and then even on the tour itself they were quite flexible because they only take small groups, not the busloads of people on cruise ship tours.

Hi you can find all the names of our tours on our website. We have 5 different tours aimed at helping you to discover Curacao and each with a different theme. The Full day East and Wet island tour is one of our tours, but we also have the Tugboat and Reef snorkel tours (half day), the Wonderful World of Water tour (full day land tour with snorkeling), the Breath of Curacao half day nature adventure and the full day Natural Treasures of Curacao Nature adventure. On request we also offer private tours.
