Ancient, peaceful, right in the middle of a neighbourhood and next to a busy road. The way it has been build up is breathtaking and respectful to those lying there to eternally rest. It is in the process of being upgraded so we can continue...More

Not only did Gigi take us to this cemetery, she also took us to various Jewish sites including the Synagogue. She is very passionate about keeping the Jewish heritage alive in Curacao and it was felt at she took us around. I would recommend her...More

An extraordinary moving experience. Unique tombstones with incredible artwork are being lost to the pollution from the neighboring refinery.

this important cemetery is well maintained and has some elaborate stone work. simalar to Oderkirk in Amsterdam. It's next to an oil refinery- so you will smell the burning etc.

A very short drive from the beach and hotels to an incredible old Jewish cemetery, with fabulous stone work. Worth the short drive. Use a gps and see the charming colorful houses and streets along the way. Stop at the synagogue in town also.

History that is disappearing before your eyes as the fumes from the adjacent refineries wear off the carvings on the the headstones. You can see plaster versions of ten of the headstones, taken some 50 years ago, at the Synagogue museum in Punda.

Passed by this cemetery on our bus tour. I always like to check out historic cemeteries wherever I visit. This one was very unique with all above ground graves, I believe they said because of flooding issues. Very interesting stop.

Beit Hayim was hard to find and across town so we went to the other (newer) Jewish Cemetery to find our ancestors. This cemetery was right in town and easier to get to. Probably in better shape than the older one but just as fascinating....More

This is an amazing historical site with graves dates as far back as the 1700's. It's sad that oil refineries decided to build next to the cemetery.

We were taken here by Gigi on our Jewish heritage tour of the island. Gigi was wonderful in pointing out all of the different graves and unusual inscriptions. It is very sad that it is in very poor shape and mostly cannot be repaired.
